Is it the policing the world thing?

I dont think people like most governments in general. But every country basically operates in its own best interest. The US gov just grabs the headlines.
Is it the policing the world thing?

You mean meddling in the affairs of other nations?
Merely one reason of many I presume.
Because some countries feel we should not get involved with their issue quite frankley
yet when a natural disaster happens guess who is one of the first to help..
Because we boast the most powerful overall military and democratic freedoms? Which kind of makes us appear like a holier than thou declaration combined with the ability for no one to actually "make" us stop or shut up. CreasianDevailiSorry to tell you this but the US "democratic" system is pretty shallow, plenty of nations have a way better, more efficient democratic system than that of the US. although I do agree that no one can really tell the US to shut their traps.

I deny your statement in light of the notion that a democratic system can be better or more efficient. Part of what makes a country democratic is the forward push of the people themselves. Less diversity, easier to look more efficient. More diversity, easier to be more inefficient for all in order to try and fair to all due to less funneled focus of the people themselves.
It will change depending on who you ask. You won't get the same answer if you asked somebody in Iran versus somebody in the UK. Some reasons will be valid and others will just be nitpicky. You can't win either way when it comes to us, on one side of the fence we meddle in too many international situations but at the same time if we're not the first ones on the ground when a natural disaster happens we're wrong.
Because of our intereference in foreign governments (most egregiously, when we depose foreign leaders by supporting militias or conducting assassintations), because of the way we wage war (i.e. in order to acquire wealth/influence), because many of our policies (i.e. subsidizingindustrial agriculture) adversely affect the rest of the world, because we pollute more than every other country in terms of proportion of world pollution and they're the ones that suffer the adverse effects most immediately, because our insaitable desire for fossil fuels creates increased demand for countries that are already dealing with shortages and just trying to get enough gas to do necessary tasks, because we support corporations that privatize natural resources and gouge citizens for things like drinking water, because we're one of the biggest countries behind the policies of the IMF and World Bank that often do extreme amounts of harm to young economies, and because they don't see any effort on the part of American government to address any of these issues even remotely.
This sounds like such a cop-out of an answer. Why do people hate the USA? Why WOULDN'T people hate the USA? All they do is screw around the economies of other countries, invade for pointless reasons, and Americans claim they're so great. Oh, and there's the fact that their schooling is so terrible, many high-school students these days wouldn't even be able to point out Mexico on a map.It will change depending on who you ask. It's still true. Just because it's not what you want to hear doesn't mean you should attack my answer.
Most of what you posted is debatable. I don't like to start political debates in OT defending the US because it's extremely anti-US around here (even among other posters who are from the US themselves). So instead of posting rebuttals you should just assume not everybody will hate the US for the exact same reason. It's like McDonald's, one person may hate them because the food is fattening and another may hate them just because they hate the taste. The end result is both of them hate McD.
Also, it's pretty hard for kids where I live not to know where Mexico is since we have a lot of kids from Mexico in our schools, some of whom aren't even here legally. If the US is so terrible why do we have so many people trying to come here illegaly? Before you say it I'll be one of the first to admit that we have our problems. If I was born 30 years earlier I would have been sitting in the back of the bus or facing arrest because of the color of my skin.
From a UK perpective, I don't hate the US, its the Government's polices over many years which gives it a bad name. The hypocrisy; the meddling into other Nation's affairs, not necessarily becasue its the wrong thing to do, but becasue the expressed reasons for doing so are sanctimonious 'for freedom', 'for demoracy' etc, yet its more or less always for self serving interests. And the 'freedom and democracy' in the US, is not necessarily the type of freedom that is a shining beacon of light anymore.
The Hypocrisy is all over the place; the US Governement will cite Human Rights abuses as a reason for sanctions against a country, yet practice torture for example, or implement the Patriot Act which essentially erradicates all US citizens rights in one swoop, yet continue as if none of it has occured. They will talk about dictators stealing money from the people, yet do this as almost a matter of policy through politician's relationships with corporations; taking handouts from lobbists which affect policy... the list tends to go on in that regard.
I think all of this could be tolerated by others, but the US tends to try to impose its moral standards upon others as if it is a lighthouse and other countries should steer their ship by it. Its too vocal and its moral stance has significantly waned over the years. The US won't conceede it seems, that there are often other places or countries that it can learn from and that is the issue.
Sort of like having an arrogant relative in the room who knows the answer to everything, but his own life is in a mess, refuses to take advice and continues regardless.
I used to like the US Government before it turned its country into an open prison. I hope things turn around soon.
Something to do with it's attitude most likely

I hate the US government ... Hell, I hate every government out there ... people who were chosen by the population of their nation in hopes of building a better tomorrow or at least easing life even if just a little bit for the young generation. And in return for that hope - every government is just taking a big as a whale s**t on every single person out there ... what democracy, what freedom ... people killing each other on streets all around the globe simply becouse their dream of just LIVING LIKE A NORMAL HUMAN BEING is crushed from some corrupt bastard with connections up top ... ALL governments are the same in my eyes:x
P.S. And becouse of this s****y world we live I don't even waste my time on watching the news ... if I need to look at the news I can just browse the topics I actually CARE about and ignore everything else ... What are you going to learn from the news anyways ? A child runs into his school, kills his teacher and kills himself. A family found dead becouse of breaking in ... suicide bombers blow themselves up near embassies and in the end getting innocent people involved or why not just blow himself in a bus loaded with people, soldiers from who knows what country putting their nose in other countries' business and affairs, some random country suing some other random country becouse of some minor thing that happened and starting to threaten each-other ...:x

There's nothing wrong with pride, especially when you're part of the best country on Earth. :P

Afghanistan
Andorra
South Sudan
UnitedStates of America
Like. Really? lol. Atleast try and be a bit discrete about sh*tting on the world environment, I mean, feign it. Fake it! Fake it for me, that's all I'm asking!

CreasianDevailiAlways perplexed by this idea that Americans have that foreigners hate you for you freedom. Do you actually think anyone at this very moment is sitting in his Yurt, just stewing over you freedom? It's absurd. The only enemies that America has ever created were due to meddling in their or their comrade's affairs.

And there isn't a nation on the globe that has freedoms that equal the Bill of Rights.
Iran hasn't outlawed burqas for women either. I guess that makes you guys equals in liberty. ;0
Here in England a lot of people I know dislike the US because of how patriotic a lot of people over there are (a trait generally looked down upon as a sign of weak minded and easily manipulated)
Because it's incredibly hard to be self critical. The US government - like most world governments past and present - acts in its country's best interest. If you're not from that country, you're not going to like it. In the current geopolitical situation, the US is one of the most prominent players. It's press is open and relatively free, so unlike other nations like China and Russia, its dirty laundry is usually aired for the world to see. Like most past and current powers, there's plenty of it, too.
What's amusing is the same people that are so critical of the US, are also blind to their own country's transgressions/flaws. Just as its hard for americans to admit their country is less than perfect, most other people have that same problem. It's easier to hate on something different/separate, then be self critical.
I don't want to get into some tit for tat argument over which country is the worst. My own has plenty of flaws.
Most people in Europe do think prejudiced about the US. I used to but know I know better.
Still, the US is at the very top of enviromental damage. Don't get me wrong but a US citizen produces 23,5t of Co² a year - a european citizen 10,5t.
At the world climate apex oboma told to save the enviroment, but wasn't willing to do any changes on his side. I mean, wtf? Still economics are important, but not even ready for changes?
