Why do some people still use wooden pencils instead of mechanical ones?

Why do some people still use wooden pencils that you have to sharpen and which get shorter as you use them instead of mechanical ones? I'm talking about just for regular writing, not like art pencils or something.

Im Old School I gues, Wooden Penciles are comfortable anyway

i like regular ones better, I write better with them. And the mechanical one sucks because it keeps breaking for me:x or i just suck

I use whatever i can find either on the floor or i can steal off of something. In school you have to fend for yourself.

Many amateur writers stick with wooden pencils because they can't handle a mechanical pencil. ;)

I use mechanical; in my experience a wooden pencil only works better when it's "just right" in terms of sharpness, which almost never happens.

Actually it's because we can turn them on their sides and use the broad edge of the graphite. This creates a much smoother effect. Graphite sticks could also work, but they're messy.

Yeah, but I said I wasn't really talking about for art; I just meant for writing. Okay, maybe that's not exactly what I said, but it was kind of implied.

I dont even use pencils, soon as I could I went right to pen. Only used pencils for sketches but never for writing.

It's because I don't like pens, I hate putting in new lead, and above all else, the lead snaps too easily when I write . Wooden pencils are just so much better IMO.

I use wooden pencils. They tend to look like survivors of a beaver attack after I'm through with them--chew marks all over. That wouldn't wear so well on a mechanical pencil case.
