No offense but I'm going to have to turn the accusations of shallow right back at you and say that it is WOMEN who by and large succeed massively at being shallow, and put their male counterparts to shame.
Amongst the many, many mates I have, I cannot think of a single one who would even think of treating a woman like that. This new age fetish of trying to break men's self-esteem down by calling them pigs, shallow and devoid of any meaningful urges other than those from their crotches is seriously offensive. I hate political correctness, but this is too much to handle. Mabye men are different where you come from, but where I live, we don't act like you seem to think.
Now for what I promised. It isn't men that have the problem in society. Its women. You think that WE make you objects? You think MEN right those fashion magazines that turn women into sex symbols? Men wrote them in the 1950's, women have been writing them for DECADES. Blame your OWN gender for the way the media portrays you. A man who oogles a nice women is NOT shallow, he does NOT hate women, he does NOT think women are objects.
Face it. Men appreciate beauty. Whenever I see a fine ass chick I think 'damn thats nice', but I don't instantly take a picture of her, log it and then add her to my secret list of women I need to bed. If a guy wants to have sex with no strings attached, you go to a nightclub. There is nothing wrong with that. Not every man wants the emotional baggage of love at their particular stage of life.
Wome on the other hand, will almost consistently go for the guy who exudes the most aggressive pheremones. I would never be so arrogant to backhandedly suggest that there is not a sizeable portion of females who have the mental processing powers to overcome their biological urges, because there IS that portion of females. But in the total scale of things, I'm going to ASSERT that they are a minority.
Look at any social group. High school, university, work force. Women/girls will be attracted to the alpha male. Alpha males do not necesarily mean the best mating partner. And then you get women who marry for money. I find a woman who considers the man's financial status important downright pathetic and disgusting. Mainly because they set the bar so high and they themselves have NOTHING impressive by any stretch of the imagination to speak of in financial terms.
The majority of men treat women like objects? Don't make me laugh. Women treat men like aggressive ATM's. It is oh so easy to fall in love with a piece of total scum in this world, you see it all the time; women who dig that street thug who has no future, no intelligence and no respect for anyone but themselves. The same for a man. You see guys desperately in love with a chick who may be beautiful but smells like a corpse inside her soul.
Both sexes are guilty of looking for attributes that are unfair and demeaning when they seek their partners. I respect your point of view, because depending on your luck in life, I have NO DOUBT that you could OH SO EASILY be surrounded by men who treat you like objects. But please, do not say the majority. That hurts me deeply on a person level. Being a man is almost a freaking CRIME in this world. We certainly get it easier on the biological side, women DEFINITELY have more to put up with; but in this world the legal system is UNDENIABLY geared towards women. My high school maths master was almost jailed for being falsely accused of rape. He was one of the most upstanding gentlemen in history. Every young man in our school viewed him as a hero.
