[QUOTE="Dylan_11"]What are you basing your knowledge off of here? Other movies? Video games? Unless you have seen a guy get shot with a shotgun it is up in air as to what would happen.Dylan_11

Or you could just come to a logical conclusion...unless you have never been cut before..

How many layers of clothing is he wearing? Was he wearing a kevlar vest? Did he take the full brunt of the shell or was he only pierced by a few pellets? Maybe instead of jumping to conclusions you could think of many factors that could contribute to the lack of blood. Including the PG-13 rating

I think he was referring to it in regards to a realistic situation..and as far as i know wearing multiple layers of clothing won't stop a bullet/pellets fired at 30 feet or so away...if he had a vest on he wouldn't be curled up clutching where he was shot for that period of time...but who knows..

Either way..analyzing a movie is pointless...

Obviously I wasn't assuming the layers of clothing would stop a bullet, stopping the flow of blood, however, is within the realm of possibility. Getting shot with a vest on still does hurt, so clutching his chest for a period of time is again within the realm of possibility.

In my opinion it was awful. Just another Batman movie. It had a story that was hard to follow, didn't have enough action scenes, and Christian Bale was awful as batman.

I didn't get what was going on through the movie. I admit Heath Ledger was good as the Joker, but Heath Ledgers death was the reason why this movie did so well at the box office. I think it was just "sympathy."

People complain about Avatar but I thought Avatar was good. People were saying this movie was "amazing". But I just wanted it to be over. Is it because Im not a Batman fan? Its just the same as any other super hero movie. Why does everyone make a fuss about this movie. Did you like it or dislike it?

This is in my opinion.

Well first, go watch Batman Begins, just because it's pretty awesome. Then watch the Dark Knight again but turn the volume up this time.

These movies made me a Batman fan!

The movie would go from people talking quietly, to Batman riding that bike thing. Ok, a large amount of people are on boats? What the heck? The joker blew up the jail with a cell phone which was in a guy?

Were you tripping when you saw it?? All those were explained, and quite obviously as well. That's like saying in American Pie, they were talking in a room, then they were in a car at one point, and then a boat! What the hell man why are they moving around????!!!

At least Avatar had a theme and a message. I was waiting for the dark knight to do something. People talking quietly is the dark knight.

The Dark Knight had a message. Not a great one. But Avatar had the most routine, boring, tired, cliche message of film history.

Dark Knight was a decent film. The only part I really liked was the Joker. The rest was pretty dull for the most part, and two face wasn't very interesting. Christian bale also needs to tone down that ridiculous sounding voice. His Hollywood roles are his worst by far. They really don't show off his talent as an actor. I liked Dark Knight but there were so many better movies that year that I barely remembered The Dark knight.

Look up the movie Fern Gully and Pochahontas. Each are vhild films with the exact same plot as avatar. its quite lulzy and points out the rountine, basic and cliche story of avatar.

Also to answer the nice ranting from the TC. If you found the movie had to much whispering turn up the volume on the TV because there was barely any whispering in the films entirety.

Your complaints about the films story don't make sense for the most part as they are clearly explained at regular intervals but i assume this comes back to the problem of your TV.

Stop complaing that people are presenting other arguments because u asked for it when you stated Avatar was better so obviously people who like the Dark knight better than Avatar will respond. Also the two movies are completely unrelated so im jsut assumeing your a troll. Theres definately alot more i could add but cant be bothered.

I never said "I can't hear anything" I said that a lot of the movie was whispering from what I can remember.

So, you have never been confused with a plot of a story?

iginlawasup

Not when it is this easy to follow. You really should consider an appointment with an ear doctor though. Get that "whispering syndrome" checked out.

It was CLEARLY MY OPiNION! I didn't like the movie you did! Big deal! I asked if you liked it or not or why everyone liked it! Not for users to question every reason why I didn't like it!

I find it ironic how you opened a thread asking why everyone liked the Dark Knight, and when they try to reply you go"ItsMY OPINION!!". Yeah, we know its your opinion, we have our opinions to. And we are trying to show you it, thats the point of this thread no? :|

The following is simply my opinion:

I thought this movie was fantastic, and it can join my favourites and the Batman classics. The acting by Heath Ledger was excellent. I loved how they made him deranged and crazy and not very caring, while still relying on his own slyness and, truthfully, luck. The movie's plot made perfect sense to me, even though I understood it better after watching it a second time. It has alot of great action scenes and surprises. Really, there's nothing much bad to say about this movie.

Even though I enjoyed every minute of the movie, it was preeeettttyy long :D

When I was watching it in the cinema for the first time, THREE TIMES everyone stood up and started standing up and walking away before realising the movie wasn't over yet

You made a thread and should have expected a debate. Some of your points do seem a little off. I do not get why you would have trouble hearing what they were saying. The only thing I could think of was perhaps your settings for the player or TV were not set right.

Actually , I noticed the sound issue as well. What it was, is that the action scenes are way louder than the dialogue. If you trun it up to hear them speak, an action scene will come on and shake your house. Turn it down, and you could barely hear. It was a mixing problem. My mom noticed it too.

Did you have the DVD or Blu-ray? The sound for me was never an issue. I guess it depends on other factors too. Which is a valid point for issues with the actual presentation of the DVD/Blu-ray , but not really for judging the movie .

That can happen on some movies when the surround sound track is being played through stereo speakers. Generally speaking the 2.0 Stereo track should be automatically used when you're only using 2 speakers, but if it doesn't you can end up with strange sound level issues, specifically between action and speaking scenes.

It was the DVD. And I agree, it made watching the movie at night while others were sleeping problematic but it did not factor into my view of the film.

I have no idea how the story was hard to follow....in fact i have no idea how any comic book film is hard to follow.....good guy tries to catch the bad guy, with complications in between..there we go :) lol I do think its because your not a batman fan tbh mate, but I wouldn't call myself a fan of batman, personally...every batman film up until the Dark Knight, i didn't like! Theres no escape from the fact that The Dark Knight was a great film, from all the money it made and how popular it became.....the performance of the late Heath Ledger was stunning, he would have certainly got recognition for this if he hadn't died.... Epic film! I didn't think much to Avatar...was decent enough, and the special effects were good....but I expected more, maybe too much hype for that one!

I don't know why people make such a big deal about it. It was a good movie, but not as mindblowing as everyone made it seem. All the furor over it was because of Ledger's death.

[QUOTE="metalpower08"] The Dark Knight had a message. Not a great one. But Avatar had the most routine, boring, tired, cliche message of film history.metalpower08

How is environmentalism a routine, boring, and tired cliche? If anything, we should be promoting it more in movies today.

Because we are talking about a form of entertainment. And not very sophisticated ones at that. How many movies have we seen with the exact same plot as avatar. It had exactly the same story as Bamby and Dancing with Wolves. I literally predicted the closing shot and how everything would end up before I saw it. I'm here to say the most memorable part of Avatar was how sore my ass got.

First of all, yes, movies are entertainment, but they are also art. Having an interesting, thoughtful or positive message, theme, symbol or idea is a crutial part of making a good movie, and Avatar has all of these.

Second, am I misreading or did you just say movies AREN'T sophisticated? Because thats absolutely ridiculous.

Third, plot =/= message. Whether it was original or not is besides the point. The movie still promotes a positive message. It's irrelevant that you thought the plot was unoriginal. BTW, I have seen similar story elements in other movies, but I have never seen this story before. When watching the movie, I didn't even notice the fact that it was similar to Dances With Wolves and a few other movies. Yes, similar story elements are borrowed, but I don't see how its any more different than what Star Wars did. I have never seen this story, in the world of Pandora, and with these sci-fi elements (you know, the avatars).
