why does everyone hate on "scene" kids?

Typical Scene Chick:
-Choppy short hair.
-Usually black however blonde and lots of 'strange' colors are used to make themselves look 'unique.

-Bows are popular

I think scene girls are cute but thats about it.

Everyone says they move with the scene and so on hence the name, but to be honest, Ive noticed them for years it seems and they really havent changed all that much, atleast not style wise.. I think its time to start classifying it as a solid group like Emo, Goth, Metalhead and so on and no longer just that one group that does whats "In" though I'm sure there are people who move from "cool thing" to "cool thing" on a whim.

No scene is dying away like 80% of them at my high school changed to indie kids or just back to normal and I have noticed less and less of them when I go to shows which is great

The styIe is one thing. I don't like the styIe, but I can still respect you if you do. It looks better on girls though to be honest. On guys it blends too much with "emo," a completely different styIe in theory. Oftentimes this makes the guys look too feminine. The attitude of these scene people is another thing...

They're obnoxious. The majority of them are jerks or are just irritating (I have scene friends BTW). Have you ever walked down the hall at your High School or maybe even college and seen or heard someone go "BREE BREE!" in your face, trying to "pig squeal" like all of their metalcore/deathcore bands? It's annoying as all hell, especially when they go around saying they listen to "true br00tal deth medal!1" There's a reason those kids who show up at metal concerts and act all tough hardcore dancing (two-stepping) in the pits get the **** kicked out of them.

One likes poetry.

One likes myspace.

One likes Screamo/Post Hardcore/Metalcore.

One likes cheap highly bouncy happy Techno music.

Both are equally annoying.

Sure they are. That doesn't mean I'm going to go out of my way to make them feel like ****.

People from other subcultures that hate them can have their "reason." Most goths, metalheads and punks struggled to get off the negative attention they get, since the 80's, the Columbine massacre, those crazy dudes that go ona killing spree etc.. are supposedly all "goth" or "metalhealds" by the mainstream media. Punks are seen as rebellious and all of these movements are seen as crap by society in general and still today (which is sad) Mainstream media borrows from this from time to time. Metal in the 80's. Grunge on the 90's, Hip-Hop on the early 00's and now on the indie/scene/emo look.

People who hate emo/scene kids do it becuse the mainstream media grabbed their looks, mashed the all up. Joined it with some bad music called screamo which later evolved into BrokenCyde type core electro seudo indie bands that are labeled as fashionable and awesome. BOOM scene is ALIVE.

Emos and scene kids got it easy being "different" because they get the look but not the "philosophy" of other subcultures. They have it easy while goths are still looked down.

Ever seen that Vampire South Park episode? There are a couple of goths in my school that i talk to and they are very pissed about that. Everyone calls them emo. And other emo kids try to look like them but only achieve the look while their attitude is totally prep like. They love thse cop paste hardocre bands, love those vintage shirts, ADORE Lennon, Morrison, Bob Marley and other rock cult leyend but they know nothing of them. And they generally think they are too good to be part of them. Sometimes yelling those couple of goths i mentioned. "stop trying to be scene only cool people can be scene, you listen to bad music" (only if bad music is disintegration by The Cure)

I despise them. Not hate them.

i dont hate that stereotype. i think the obnoxiousness is why most people hate the stereotype.

Because your all haters operating on stereotypes and generalizations.

Some hate it because of some unreasonabledislike of them or jelousy. Some Hate on them because they hate anyone who belongs to a "non conformist" subculture even though they likely belong to one themselves.

To these haters you have to be the ONLY one who likes something or else your just a non conformist conformist and a poser. No matter what the scene and emos do these elitists will ALWAYS judge them. You can't claim to belong to ANY subculture without these people judging you hating on your entire subculture or calling you a poser.

Others hate on it because they don't like it when a guy doesn't fit into pre defined gender roles.

Did it ever occur to any of you that some emo and scene kids might just like the sty1le or the music?
