Why does it seem like everyone loves metal here?

Metal is the law. Metallica, Lamb of God, Iron Maiden, Megadeth, Children of Bodom...all gods!

It's too damn bad for me though, Lamb of God is playing in a city two hours away from me with Children of Bodom opening for them, and I can't even go because it's on Easter Sunday and I'm going to my grandmas house.

Meh, electronic music>metal in general in my mind, its more diverse, more instruments come into play, and its better music for partying IMO

It's because most of OT thinks bands like Metallica are metal, but they really aren't, they're alternative, so really most of OT likes Alternative.

Perhaps this is so because everyone "here" can be said to be part of a geek subculture and people who form part of subcultures tend also to be part of counter-culture (Heavy Metal).

Because it's awesome. Unlike some metalheads here, though, I enjoy both ends of the spectrum and don't limit myself to "Extreme Metal" or "Flower Metal".

Personally metal is only about 10 or maybe 20% of what I listen to. I'm not close to being as cool as Darth Caedus or Sandroid.

My friend got me into metal actually. Now my favorite band of all time is Bullet for My Valentine because of it :D
