Why does the world hate on Jews/Israel?

Just a simple question to this generalization I keep seeing over and over and over. Why are they hated against so much.

I hear different stuff from different sources but the 2most often repeated reason for hate is that they think they're perfect. Or rather, not necessarily perfect, but that they are the chosen race/nationalityof God,and then there's Palestine.

Is it a collection of reasons? Why does everyone hate on the Jews and Israel?

I don't hate the Jews or Israel.

They're different things. Hating on israel is usually hating on zionists, or fundamental jews. These are the people building settlements inside palestine areas, and then demanding their army to defend them. They're as bad as any fundamental religious people. They claim that the land belongs to them, and use it as an excuse to force palestinians out of the way. Not all jews are zionists (by far), and I actually read a book once about the conflicts between zionists and non zionists in america. It's really about the mindset, and the principles (that you can just force a nation away from where they live based on your religion) that they have.

I dont either, but I'm just asking because I heard it almost seems like a fad to hate them, and I'm just wondering where it came from.

Don't confuse Jews with Israelis. Most Israelis are Jews but the majority of Jews are not Israelis.

They were human, had various colors of dark hair, some were lefties and some were righties

The whole Jesus argument is crap, it holds no merit. Jesus has just been a scapegoat for evil and barbaric behavior

I don't hate jews, my stepfather is jewish and I went to a mostly jewish high school.

But I find it interesting how the oppressed have become the oppressors.

The Israelis treat the Palestinians like garbage and herd them into ghettos.

They were treated horribly by the Nazis so now they have to take it out on someone else.

It reminds me of how abused children often grow up to become child abusers themselves.

That's a grossly exaggerated implication in the question. The world doesn't. You can thank parts of the middle east for having a massive role, though. (especially Palestinian TV)

I don't hate them, my family was Jewish generations back, if I had to take a guess I would say Hilter.

I am pro-Palestinian but not anti-Semitic. I had Jewish friends who were awesome. It's Israel who I dislike.

Amongst Israel's most ardent supporters there seems to be a tendency to assume that any criticism of the state must be motivated by a dislike of Jewish people. More than that, it often appears to me that there's a concerted campaign to slap the "Anti-Semite" label on anybody who doesn't embrace everything that Israel does, lock, stock and barrel.

That's simply wrong.

Not everybody who opposes Israel's heavy-handed policies and violations of international law loathes Jewish people or wants Israel to cease to exist.

Again, not to sound racist, but the jewish holocaust is over-emphasized in films and the teaching of WW2. Similar things happened to the Chinese at the hands of the Japanese, or the Russian people on a much larger scale under Stalin, but we never hear about those things.

Israel (whom the US funds and supports) pours into the Gaza strip again, killing civilians and violating virtually every international crime set up by the UN and ICC. They are no more deserving of Jerusalem than Christians or Muslims, but they lay sole stake over it, even though by all rights it should be an international city. hamstergeddon

I honestly don't know.I don't have any problems with Jews or Israelis.

What religious body doesn't think that they are the chosen people? That's kind of the point of having your own religion, because you think that you are doing it right.

People hate the Jews out of long-seated racism. For two thousand years they have been treated as an imposition, a migrant population that doesn't belong, like gypsies.

Migrant populations always become scapegoats for the problems of the larger populations.

That just wouldn't happen. Jerusalem would have a civil war. The Jews will not want to share given the fact that they have been occupying the city and country for a while now. The Christians will think they deserve to own the city and the Muslims will do anything to stop the other two groups from having the city.

Incorrect. All four Gospels clearly show it was the Romans that killed Jesus.:)

The book of Isaiah clearly shows how badly He was whipped. The Jews had a law that no man could receive more than 20 lashes. Jesus was described in Isaiah as to where His face and body no longer looked human. His beard was also forcibly removed.

Of course, because Judas betrayed Him to the High Priest (who acknowledged the miracles of Jesus, btw).

It was Passover, and the Jews did not want His death on their hands, so they turned Him over to Pilate.

Jewish is both an ethnicity and a religion; both have been targets.

There is bigotry in the world. People are going to show hatred towards Jews just because they are Jewish. And it's not just Jews, there are people who are going to hate Christians just for being Christian (and then you have Christians who show hatred towards Catholics just for being Catholic...), and people who show hatred towards Muslims just for being Muslim.

But Israel is different. While there are people who hate Israel merely because of it's "Jewishness"; there are very good reasons to be critical of the state - and the same is true of any other country. Many people are critical of western countries - that doesn't mean they have a hatred towards western people - nor does being critical of Israel inherently make someone anti-semetic.

I saw the answer in family guy one time, i can't remember though.

As a former Jew, I have nothing but respect for the religion and most of its people, but extremism of any religion is unacceptable imo. I also don't like how Israelis are so militant and aggressive, but I understand their views. I don't take sides in the territory conflict of the Middle East; I just wish it would end somehow.
