I can't believe there is controversy over this.

Here's the sad truth: We (America) Kick ass. Don't like it? Blow up one of our buildings. I dare you. We will invade your sad-ass country and nuke you if we have to. There is very good reason why America is the most powerful country in the world. Think it sucks? Then don't move here. Think we're fat? Then bomb us with some salad. Think we're stupid? Then watch and be amazed as our NASA teams get to Mars before your ass.

America: We're here to stay, and if you don't like it, **** OFF!

You're only going to be the 2nd most powerful country in the world in 20 years time . . .

proof?

I think we have a threat on our hands...:o

2020 was a hasty estimate really but in less than 50 years time China will overtake the USA as the largest economy and will eventually beat it in all other areas, they're coming for you . . .

ummm, no. their military doesn't have nearly the ability to project their power as we do, and I cant see them having that ability any time soon

I wasn't saying that they would have it any time soon, but they will eventually.

ummm, no. they are getting slightly more powerful in that region (east asia).

How does that contradict my statement?

their armed forces are only influential in that region. our armed forces can strike any point on the globe within 2 days with more firepower than ever used in history

Your country is wiser than that, you'll just discriminate China through global warming and put your country on the moral highground.

Just read any thread with anything to do with the middle east aswell.

So once?:?

Well it happens often, just look around any thread with war in, do to with america, It's so common there's one in the very thread were reading now. I'm sorry if you don't find casual talk about mass murder in one the the cruelest and inhumane ways possible to be offensive at all, but it is to me. Besides the bigger person threatening someone smaller, weaker, lesser etc, is called bullying where I come from.

China is the biggest pollution factor in the world and New York City and Louisiana are setting gold standards for Green living.

And we pretty much turned the tide of war against oppression in two world wars.

Just because agriculture is a part of the country doesn't mean it isn't industialized dude. And now that I've agreed with jointed I must drown my sorrows in alcohol.

I dislike a lot of aspects of American culture and a lot of aspects of US government. That doesn't mean I have a problem with my own country.

Just because agriculture is a part of the country doesn't mean it isn't industialized dude. And now that I've agreed with jointed I must drown my sorrows in alcohol.

my point is that only the urban areas are "developed", but most of the countryside is impoverished

That's the fault of the Chinese government and why the country really isn't a threat.

in the rural countryside, yeah, it is

China does not qualify as a developing country...

China is a developing country, there's no debating this. 70% of its population are peasants/farmers living in the countryside. Only select few cities are urbanized and developed: Beijing, Tianjing, Shanghai, Wuhan, Guanzhou and etc. The HDI is 0.768 (medium) and GDP/capita (nominal) is $2040, GDP/capita (ppp) is only $7700. China is a NIC (newly industrialized country) which is really just a developing country in better shape (relatively).

The PLA already outnumbers the U.S military...but still nowhere near in terms of strength though.

[QUOTE="diablo_human"]I agree. The sheer carelessness of them suggesting just to "nuke" something to get rid of it irritates me. "Oh the middle east is a problem, let's just nuke it, it'll be ok".. hmm..camreeno360

How many times has this occured?

I can't believe there is controversy over this.

Here's the sad truth: We (America) Kick ass. Don't like it? Blow up one of our buildings. I dare you. We will invade your sad-ass country and nuke you if we have to. There is very good reason why America is the most powerful country in the world. Think it sucks? Then don't move here. Think we're fat? Then bomb us with some salad. Think we're stupid? Then watch and be amazed as our NASA teams get to Mars before your ass.

America: We're here to stay, and if you don't like it, **** OFF!

Silver_Dragon17

Just read any thread with anything to do with the middle east aswell.

So once?:?

Well it happens often, just look around any thread with war in, do to with america, It's so common there's one in the very thread were reading now. I'm sorry if you don't find casual talk about mass murder in one the the cruelest and inhumane ways possible to be offensive at all, but it is to me. Besides the bigger person threatening someone smaller, weaker, lesser etc, is called bullying where I come from.

I'm sure reading comments in a video game forum will get you the most accurate presentation of Americans.

Well to be honest my origanal point was the carelessness of people talking about murder. So, yes, it is.

lol why are you still arguing this. You picked out one point out of the many I listed and said just because premise A exists doesn't support conclusion B :| Developed countries have a high standard of living in general, the People's Republic of China does not meet that requirement, therefore it's not a developed country, period. The only "China" that is developed is the Republic of China (Taiwan).

Ok point taken. However PRC is still a developing country no matter how anyone spins it.
