Yeah, they are right. Guys are usually stronger, and there is a good reason. Girls are more in touch with each other, in other words more friendly, guys however feel the need to compete for domince. Think about it, do girls try to be tougher then other girls to get a guy? Not as often. Guys look for the hotness of a girl so they dont worry about muscle. Im a guy so i wont say exactly what a girl looks for but it's obviously way diffrent then guys. However guys are not imediatley stronger then a girl. It depends on who the guy and girl are.
I don't reckon it's a girl/guy thing, more how big / muscley someone is compared to the person they are fighting. If a person deserves to get hit then do it, but just take it easy if you're super buff against a little skinny person.
If one comes at you with knife or PMS, you may have to defend yourself. Aim for the breast of the subject.
These "Girls" are highly dangerous creatures and I advise the whole male populace of GS not to go near any.

Society says its because men are stronger, and could actually do damage. But in reality you just shouldn't pick a fight with someone weaker than you. That goes for those really ugly muscular women or the really fat ones that pick on skinny guys.

Its only a matter of strength, so it depends on the situation. If the girl is stronger than you feel free to fight back. Generally men are stronger than women so it is unacceptable to hit them.
If you still don't understand, ask yourself this. Would you hit a small child?

Hitting in general is wrong, it doesn't matter what gender you are. "Hitting girls" is as wrong as "hitting boys." The stigma around boys hitting girls comes directly from the sexist assumption that there is sexual dimorphism between the two genders and women are supposedly "weaker" than men.
I once hit a girl who happened to be one of my best friends. I just snapped at a stupid comment I took the wrong way and hit her. Right after I hit her I felt SOO bad. She actually laughed since I'm a huge pacifist usually. But it was such a horrible thing to do. :(

Would it be considered a sign of weakness for a man not to hit a woman on the mere idea that she is but a woman?
I believe if a girl hits you you have the right to hit them back ofcourse take into thought how hard you do it if she hits you and it hurts then hit back so it hurts reality women aren't all sweet and gentle anymore and if some crazy **** comes up trying to fight you then your have every right to fight back. but keep in mind that if you hit a girl without her attacking first then your proble going to be in alot of trouble. Most people see it as self defense if it is under and eye for an eye rule.

The men can't do anything about it because of two things: -Their own mentality and the patriarchal society(it may be fizzling out but the foundation is still rooted in most men these days) keeps them from doing anything violent to women, causing them to bottle up all that pain and self-loathing, and whatnot. It's why there's an immensely high percentage of un-reported domestic assaults that deal with wives/girlfriends attacking husbands/boyfriends. -VAWA. As much as the Violence Against Women Act was a decent step forward, it's also a huge obstacle for men. See, in domestic abuse cases, men are presumed to be the guilty party and are taken to jail. There was one case that stood out to me, where a beaten father called 911 because his wife had attacked him and the children, and he was arrested while the mother got to remain with the kids. The VAWA has discrimination written into it, and it basically forbids men to even apply self-defense in many cases.
