Looks like your judging statistics from OTÂ . Remember, OT hates everything popular.. So the data is skewed here lol
because they have amazing fries and okay everything else. Bk and Wendy have bad fries and okay everything else
Wendy's sea salt fries with the skin are way better.McDonalds burgers suck, but their fries are addictive.

[QUOTE="famicommander"]For the same reason Justin Bieber, Call of Duty, and Apple products are popular. They appeal to the lowest common denominator and have good advertising.lostrib

That's absolutely true. They target the least discerning consumer. It doesn't mean McDonald's is automatically bad (I like them, in general) nor does it mean there's anything wrong with being part of the lowest common denominator. McDonald's sells cheap food to people who don't have the time to seek out other alternatives. They're efficient and well presented, so their products sell. To say that they are lowest common denominator is not a value judgment, it just means that they target the broadest group possible.Fast food all tastes the same to me.
Like sugar, fat, and grease. It only tastes good when you're starving.Â
Basicly the right time at the right place, with the right advertising.
Mc D had a huge boom, back then and have somewhat struggled a bit to keep the sucess from back in the day.
Still they are amongst the cheapest (as far as I know) which might also have somewhat to do with it, atleast for teenagers.
I suppose when you don't pay your employees enough to live without going on welfare you can afford to open more places.
I suppose when you're completely ignorant about how wages are formed (hint: they're a price and thus are subject to the law of prices) you can make statements like this.I suppose when you don't pay your employees enough to live without going on welfare you can afford to open more places.

Yeah, not to mention that plenty of McDonald's are franchised so there's no investments to afford.I suppose when you don't pay your employees enough to live without going on welfare you can afford to open more places.

I think it is also because of their standard menu and relatively consistent product.  You can order a number 1 in New  York and it will be prepared exactly the same as a number 1 in LA.  A lot of fast food places are like this but none that I know of are as consistent as McDonalds.  Plus its just a really well run company with extremely strict rules.  The health inspector in my city was talking about how when corporate McDonalds comes to a store, its one strike and you're out for the manager when dealing with cleanliness and rules and they are supposedly ALOT more strict than the actual health department.  I look up to them as one of the "great" companies of the world in terms of business design.
