Music moved on, maybe some time in the future we may return to the 80's rock sound but for now the music industry is at a different place.Im_singleBut I mean, bands that used to produce that kinda music, now sound different too.. What is it that makes them sound different? The tempo? The riffs?
Sounds rough. :lol:It's actualy quite smooth. :Pim sorry, i just have to................"Thats what she said"[QUOTE="Neon-Tiger"][QUOTE="Pirate700"]

Well, there was an attempted revival of that genre around 2000 via The Darkness (mostly).
Ugh, The Darkness; 'scuse me I have to vomit...

What is it that makes them sound different? The tempo? The riffs? The age, the diminishing of talent? I don't know, Slash's new albums sounds pretty 80's to me. Although I imagine it is most likely the 80's rockers trying to adapt to the new music industry, also new production techniques. I'm sure if they felt like it they could make an album that sounds like it came straight from the 80's.
Well there SHOULD.Why is there no 70's-esque hard rock being produced? Why is there no 60's-esque psychedelic or blues rock being produced?

[QUOTE="yabbicoke"]Well there SHOULD. Well hell yeah there should be but that's just the way music is. It moves on. Unfortunately most of today's music sucks but there's no turning back. It is what it is.Why is there no 70's-esque hard rock being produced? Why is there no 60's-esque psychedelic or blues rock being produced?

There's always Steel Panther, though they seem more satirical than serious to me. And they're lyrics are downright outrageous. :P
But yeah, the music's good and really has the late 80's, early 90's sound.
To say it's not what people want isn't really correct. People want whatever's new. If suddenly pop music started going back to 80s style, that would be what the masses would "want".Cause it's not the 80s anymore? I don't know, it's not what people want to hear I guess.

Because they finally realize how utterly boring that **** was.Darth-Caedus
No genre has ever really dissappeared, just gone underground. If bestial black metal is still being produced, then so is 80' styled rock.

Well to be fair Aerosmith's Crazy was done in 1994.I always liked Aerosmith, but they bummed me out when I went to see them in concert once. They were so smashed that they sung a song out of order. They sung 1st stanza, then 3rd, then 2nd.
Yes... And the 1340s were THE golden age of bubonic plague. Your point?viva_hateSo you think that Linkin Park is better than Guns N Roses then?
[QUOTE="viva_hate"]Yes... And the 1340s were THE golden age of bubonic plague. Your point?th3warr1orSo you think that Linkin Park is better than Guns N Roses then? Linkin Park is new metal and Guns N Roses are Hard Rock, so GnR is hell of alot better. Either way they are both very overrated bands.
[QUOTE="th3warr1or"]@Viva_Hate You can't be serious man.. The 80s-early 90s was THE golden age of Hard Rock. viva_hate
