It would be great for the economy, it would create revenue & jobs. It would keep more people out of jail.

It would also keep the hookers off the street, away from crime or violence, couldnt be taken advantage of, or thrown around by a PIMP. The sex would be safe & hookers would be tested on a constant basis

If it were legal it would be nothing but positve ( All Pros, No Cons ).There is no legitimate reason for it to be illegal. They have the Bunny Ranch in Vegas as an example of how to run this service.

They allow people to create Pornos but no actual prostitution? As i said before it should be legal & it would be great for the economy.

Prostitution should be legal everywhere. Create more jobs, better quality girls, no more pimps on the streets, less related violence, etc...

Best part is these services can be taxed and help economic growth.

Isn't this a state issue? If there was a federal crime related to prostitution than it couldn't be legal in Nevada, right? Either way, I believe it should be legal in the same way I believe weed should be legal. I also believe that legalizing such things would have some negative effects, but those negative effects wouldn't outweigh the positive effects. Goodnight.

Legal with tight controls and monitoring. Far more severe sentences for those that even stray from the rules in the slightest.

Career you're interested in? Not the kind of job that does much for the individual. How about getting the jobs back that the US let slip away? Jobs with potential. Stop picking some crap job and saying it would be good for the economy. More fast food restaurants would create jobs....not good jobs....and they certainly wouldn't be good for society....but hey....that's not a concern apparently to you.

And they don't do that in countries where it's illegal? :? In fact in Denmark trafficking is relatively uncommon.

Yes because the moment we legalize prostitution, laws that we aren't even talking about will cease to exist.. The fact of the matter is prostitution even though illegal has huge underground that leads to a alot of unreported abuse.. Simply because the hooker is afraid to report it to the police because their occupation..

Yes, prostitution should be legal. The only people who want prostitution legalized are psychotic feminists, Bible thumpers, or people who just aren't thinking straight. The prostitute is among the oldest professions in all of history (the others being farmer and soldier). It's something that's been going on for all of human civilization. Trying to stop it is futile.

Religion will continue to oppress anything it can. Maybe in 50 or so years, when the leaders of countries are born from generations raised on the teachings of scientific fact, and logical reasoning, as opposed to religious belief and wishful thinking. Maybe then leaders will be intelligent, and moral enough to understand that there's no need to deny rights to a person simply for their sexuality.

Leaders of democratic countries tend to support whatever their funders support. It has nothing to do with science. The study of logic has been around for millennia, so I don't know what another 50 years has to do with that. And I really have no idea what scientific understanding has to do with morality.

Religions are always the last to convert from their old way of thinking, to an intelligent position supported by science. The states that strongly oppose gay marriage, are also the most religious, coincidence? Years ago religion wasn't only more popular, it was viewed as literal fact. To some, the story of Adam and Eve was/is how they believe things were created. States with high concentrations of religious folk score lower on standardized tests, and less of them make it into accredited colleges. Point being that the newer generations are being taught observed facts, as opposed to wishful thinking and fantasies. These generations will be more ingrained in reality, and an understanding that we're all equal. Resulting in equal rights, as opposed to the Religious method.

Even if any of this follows, why are you quoting me and telling me it? Are you under the impression that OT needs more religious arguments?

Since you are unable to answer my question, I will: This thread, which has an actual issue being conversed, does not need to be turned into another b!tch-about-religion thread. There are plenty of those already. "Religious folks" are not the only ones who don't like prostitution.

"Religious folks" are the only ones pretending to have a legitimate reasons for opposing it. In the future, when people are more educated, perhaps religion wont have such a lock-down on people's reasoning skills, and there'd be less bigotry as a result. the TC asked "Why isn't prostitution legal", and i answered it.

Would you marry a prostitute? i think not, their profession is looked down upon by anyone. i agree religious groups have the money to support anti-prostitution and they do so but thats a whole 'nother mess of problems with what religion is doing. all i can say about things that are illegal like prostitution, gay marriage, child porn is...legalize marijuana! yeah! then legalize whatever else america wants(with MJ legal go ahead and legalize car-jacking i will not care)
