Watch this completely, then tell me otherwise. Nothing comes close to this epicness, period.

They are a great band to see live, but they really haven't been the same since Black Holes. They aren't the greatest of our time, that's for damn sure.

I dont know, show me another band which has as much diversity, is even comparable to Muse' musical talent, live performance, etc.

It's hard to find one. I'm talking bands of our time. Heres another prime example why Muse just demolishes everything else thats out right now:

People to tend to claim todays music sucks, but you have one of the greatest bands of all time right in front of you. DONT MISS OUT !

Good band live sure, but I'm not the biggest fan of their music

I'd rather see something like this or this live instead. More raw energy and musical skill.

Greatest of this century is a bit of a backhanded compliment.

Untrue In the mainstream, music has taken a pretty serious decline but look past it and there is gold being released every week.

I would say that Jack White's contributions to modern rock has been a step above Muse. Between his solo performances, his bands, and his producing, I would consider him to be greater than Muse so far.

I love Muse don't get me wrong. But like you I once completely overrated them.

Mike Portnoy is miles above Jordison Serious bud, I hate to sound like a hipster but it annoys me more than anything when people listen to one or two mallcore bands and immediately call the bands drummer/guitarist etc the best. Listen around bro, look beyond a7x and Slipknot. I used to think those bands were the sh!t but after I began listening to other more talented groups I found they were painfully average and appealed to 15 year old posers.

No, dont get me wrong. White Stripes like you mentioned earlier are one of my favourite bands and they definetly provide a kind of unique rock experience but i just fail to see what they have done to push the genre rock forward. They haven't composed a single song thats in the same league as something like this for example. (creativity, complexity, etc.)

ive enjoyed both bands since they had albums in 99 thanks to older siblings i find them very talented. i have alitst of many different amazing drummers guitarists etc. and enough with the 15 year old poser angst label i think it's quite annoying labling people that for a couple bands they listen to

i can say metallica megadeth testament pantera are all for 15 year old poser kids cause alot of kids these days listen to them

and don't say it's not the same cause it pretty much is cause somthing is newer and has a dfferent image doesnt make them twords that label

How did he win worlds fastest metal drummer when Mike Manjini holds the world record for most bpm at just over 1200? He's also been recorded just hitting the snare for 10 seconds at which point he got over 200 hits. Yeah, good luck Joey, you're not that fast. And I'm not even taking into account all of the death and black metal drummers.

That's why I didn't say just the White Stripes, but Jack White as a musician. His music is some of the most creative I've ever heard, and considering rock is a very stale genre at this point, I would consider that a feat.

As for progressive rock, Muse is outclassed by Rush in that genre. Before you say Rush is old, they have put out 2 albums since 2000, both are fantastic despite their age.

The Muse show I saw was amazing, but I saw Rush two years ealier. The influence that Rush has had on Muse is quite profound.

As for best drummers Neil Peart is still up there with the best. Even in their new albums the drumming adds a whole layer of complexity that very few other bands can match. Being able to thump double bass really fast isn't nearly the same as holding together extremely complex drum beats and rhythms throughout an entire song that add a layer of depth and complexity to the sound.

Not really, some do, some don't, but does that matter? They still play better than Joey. I also like how you completely ignored the part where I mentioned Mike Manjini, he's a prog drummer btw, so he doesn't just "bash the snare" as you so eloquently put it.

Jordison is a talented drummer, but there are a lot of drummers who aren't as widely recognized as Jordison who are arguebly more talented then him. Check out Kevin Talley, Marco Minnemann, and Jamie Saint Merat

I didn't say Joey just uses blasts, you said he was dubbed the fastest metal drummer, I was just saying he wasn't. And I've heard many death metal drummers who don't have to rely on blasts to seem good. You could listen to any of the later death albums and there isn't too many blasting, just awesome play.
