Why must I be forced to believe in evolution?

Why can't I be against the norm and believe what I want to believe.

There just isn't concrete evidence supporting evolution.

Sure, there IS concrete proof, but this was all done by the handiwork of the divine.

If evolution is as real as these scholars say it is, then I think the Academic world should follow its philosophy and EVOLVE and ADAPT to accomodate those of us who simply refuse to believe.

You don't need to believe in evolution to write a paper on its effect. The teacher failed you because you don't follow the instructions. Think of this way a teacher ask a student to write a paper on the effects of Islam. Instead student writes why he doesn't believe in Islam. He failed because he didn't follow the instructions.

Same reason why people are forced to believe in certain religions. You grow up into believing it until you're able to make your own decisions and believe what you want. Only difference is evolution is a hundred times more credible.
