Ah, I must have misinterpreted. :(

I agree though. People are able to take the good from people and learn from the bad and attempt to fix it. It's not too uncommon.

Barack Obama is currently 4% ahead in the national polls. (RCP Average)

Obama has been ahead most of the time. When McCain gets ahead it is by a small margin and only lasts for a few days.

Thanks TC and the guy that created the same thread about Obama. I think I'm going to put my support behind McCain now (I was already going to grudgingly vote for him though).

Why should you vote for McCain? Well you should'nt.

Tax cuts to the rich is dumb. If you are a rich bastard you should have to fork over money to the government until your standard of living is the same as us middle class people.

After McCain's VP pick, Obama has this. Not that I wasn't in favor of him winning anyway. If McCain kicks it, Palin, an Alaskan govenor for 2 years and before that mayor of a town of 9000 would be president.

and....that's when I move to Canada. Please, don't vote for McCain. Obama has more experience than Palin. But the Republicans are going to pretend that liberals are "Brainwashing scum." like they always do. So hypocritical...

Anyone in favor of Tax Cuts for the rich has never chronically been in a situation that involves money. They have no idea what it's like to be poor and how difficult it is. As for McCain's idea of everyone getting tax cuts....just imagine how many corners we'd have to cut...less taxes don't help our country people! Why should the wealthy have to pay so little when the less-fortunate have to work so hard to achieve? We need a tax reform, and someone has to give. Why not the fortunate? They are obligated to give back, and this is a way....and earlier someone said giving back shouldn't be an obligation. That is a very poor perspective, and I truly urge you to visit an inner city or just switch places with someone who has it tough for a week. If everyone in the high and low class swiched places for one week, things would be different.

WINDWAKER1

Anyone who makes generalising statements like this has never been in a position where he was taken seriously. I'm a college student, and while I'm making it okay now, I have had to hold two jobs at a time and very nearly lost my financial aid altogether, where I would have had to drop out. You have no idea the positions I and my family have been in, so don't you DARE tell me what I believe or what I've been through, because even if you're right, I will chew your ass out for it.

No man should have his money taken from him by the government and given to another against his will, EVER. I don't care how inconvenient it gets for me; I will not take the money of someone who didn't want to give it to me in the first place.

McCain believes u can export freedom via cruise missiles and occupation....that's why you shouldn't

as for why you should....um...he's not quite as bad as obama...but not good enough that you could still feel like a moral person after voting for him.

tax cuts to the rich is not dumb....they pay much more in taxes than everyone else...taxation cannot be justified in any way...but if a tax exists, then it has to be fair and be the same for everyone.

knowing which policies are right or wrong doesn't take experience, it takes morals. and apparently obama has no morals....i'm not saying mccain is any better, but obama is just as bad. experience is irrelevant. it's just something the media uses to stir up worthless debates between brainwashed democrats and republicans so that they ignore real issues....stop playing their stupid game and think about the real issues.

I think a lot of good points have been made in this thread... However, I still lean toward Obama. McCain's views seem to be getting rusty... And then when he realizes this, he flip flops.

Aquat1cF1sh

Some of his flip-flops have been for the better, however. Such as his stance on Iraq. Yes, it's not a good idea to support flip-flopping as they could just be lying for votes, but positive positions are positive positions and if a candidate is truly improving his position and not pandering for votes (extremely rare, I know), then I say good for him.

I will be voting for Barack Obama. I'm tired of having our country by Republicans.

Also, may I add:

Let's say something happens to the oldest person running for a first term (that's John McCain), our country would be run by a woman who has been a governor for the almighty state of Alaska for less than two years. Yea, that sounds like a great idea!

CStheGreat

Yeah, it's much better to have someone with no leadership experiance, who's only been a senator for a few years.....

Why vote for John McCain? Because your only other choice is Obama or Hillary... "Lesser of the three evils" for sure.

And to people complaining that cutting taxes for "rich" is bad. Let me say I am probably a lot poorer (economicly speaking) than most of you, but because I understand the system (somewhat), I know that taxing the rich more and more and more will not help, and it defintly won't help the poor. It's not an "us or them" system. To the argument: "The rich can afford to be taxed more": the rich already are taxed more, a lot more, and a higher %. Even if it were a strict 10% tax on all income, the rich would pay more. What we have is the rich paying high 30%'s on taxes, sometimes even higher. This penalizes hard working, by the time you earn enough to be "getting ahead" you're paying half it away. This also resaults in lower wages, higher prices, and for a lot of businesses, bankrupty. The tax cut won't help me if my employer goes out of business and I lose my job. We are in a recession, and you should never raise taxes during a recession! Unfortunitaly a lot of poor people don't realize these things, and this works to Obama's advantage, as people will blindly go out and vote for him just because "Lower taxes for the poor, higher for the rich!"

To the argument that people will all end up middle class: This will not happen, people will not all end up middle class unless our government turns from a democracy into socalism or something, and hopefully the people will uprise before that happens (I know I would!). What will end up happening before we all turned middle class, is we would all turn lower class, and the lower class (people like me, the poor) would end up ROCK BOTTOM, and I would end up playing GTA4 irl.

Obama, Hillary, and McCain are ship and the ship sinks, who gets saved? AMERICA! Jk jk :P

I would never select a pastor that had such hate. You can pick your pastor, not your parents. Onviously, Obama's learnings from Wright were political because he put him on a committee.

[QUOTE="Nintendo_Ownes7"][QUOTE="Trashface"][QUOTE="kingyotoX"][QUOTE="Trashface"]Oh no, I completely think that such racism runs through much of the black community. many of them buy into the racist rants of Jesse Jackson, Jeremiah Writght, louis Farrakan and so on and don't realize that they're being played and manipulated into believing that they are oppressed. Yes, once upon a time, they were opressed, but now opportunity is everywhere. Racism can never go away if people don't stop hating others and segregating themselves. You can't see the irony or hypocrisy because you buy into it. If it weren't fortheir hatred and racism, they wouldn't have a job. Wright, Jackson, and the others thrive on the anger and racism they breed.

Lockedge

i agree, racism preached by supposed leaders of the back community is disgusting.

It all ties into the liberal scheme. When these leaders get people to think they are oppressed and can't survive without help, they've secured themselves in a state of power. Same way with liberals telling people they can't succeed without the assistance of the government. Sadly, the people that people them don't understand that they can succeed at whatever they want. Fooled into bounding themselves into socialism.

That is one of the Laws I posted earlier.

4. Liberalism only succeeds when the public is scared into believing that it will not survive without it.

If that's the truth, then is the Liberal Left behind the Patriot Act that people were scared into accepting, thinking their country would be bombarded with attacks unless they put it into place?

Obviously, the Patriot Act has worked. How many more attacks on the US have there been? None. Have you seen the Dark Knight? It made a strong statement of the patriot act when Batman had a reluctant Morgan Freeman tap every phone in the city to help find the joker. Batman = the government. The absolutely evil Joker= the extremists. Desperate times call for desperate measures. If it will help keep us safe, I'm perfectly fine with the government being extra safe.

So the smart thing would be to put a horribly unexperienced person with questionable ties who is keeping his past secret in the office? He also wants to reach out to terrorists and open a dialogue. This will lend them legitimacy and put us in a very dangerous position. He wants to hug a rattlesnake. Get him off a teleprompter and he's a worse speaker than Bush. Why should you vote for McCain? No reason at all. If you do, you're voting for Palin to be a possible president. Sure, it'd be history making to have a woman as president, but not her. Wait till the debates when Biden completely rips Palin.

I can't wait either. There going to ask obama a question like "people are concerned of your socialist views how do you feel about that" and he's going to say something like "well how does one define a socialist......." or "I would like to thank my wife for coming out tonight"

Well, if you liked bush's financial policies, the policies which caused a massive increase in national debt, the policies that devalued the dollar and contributed to the rising gas prices, then you'll love mccain, their fiscal policies are idendical.

Well, if you liked bush's financial policies, the policies which caused a massive increase in national debt, the policies that devalued the dollar and contributed to the rising gas prices, then you'll love mccain, their fiscal policies are idendical.yoshi-lnex

um....last time i checked, the democrats are in favor of national debt...they hold the view that a higher national debt increases the economic output of the nation.

Their fiscal policies are not identical. McCain advocates the severe reduction of government spending and responsible tax cuts. Remember how McCain opposed Bush's tax cuts? Because he didn't feel they were responsible. But he voted to make them permanent because one of his campaign platforms for the Senate was to never vote in favor of higher taxes.

Why should you vote for McCain? No reason at all. If you do, you're voting for Palin to be a possible president. Sure, it'd be history making to have a woman as president, but not her. Wait till the debates when Biden completely rips Palin.Scarker

And you have a 100% chance that Obama becomes president if he gets elected.......so what's your point? I'd take Palin over Obama as president.

Man. I can't wait untill the first debate!

I can't wait either. There going to ask obama a question like "people are concerned of your socialist views how do you feel about that" and he's going to say something like "well how does one define a socialist......." or "I would like to thank my wife for coming out tonight"

Obama is going to get torn apart in the debates. He really cannot speak without a teleprompter. It's going to be fun to watch.

I just don understand him. He's old as dirt and has had cancer, yet he picks the most inexperienced VP possible. McCain dying in office is a very real possibility, how will Palin lead this country?

Wow you are so wrong.

Just because the rich can't be as powerful doesn't mean everyone can't reach their goals.

WOW...

Rikusaki

The rich are paying 80% of America's taxes. You want it raised even higher, so that the less fortunate can have more money. The rich lose money, the poor gain money. Everyone becomes middle class, and the American Dream is rendered impossible.

No. It means that the many can reach their life goals instead of the select few.

Unless, of course, their life goals include the American Dream.;) People dream big. How can they achieve their goals if they want to be rich?

They can!

This way everyone has the equal chance to become sucessful.

I dont understand why your taxing the rich so much, just because they've worked harder and are more successfull, there status should be lowered for the "lower class". Thats sounds ridiculiuos to me

How will Obama lead this country? He's more inexperianced that Palin!

8 years in state Senate, and 3 in Congress?

Vs. 20 months as governor

Lawyer with degree in political science

vs. hockey mom and highschool point guard

yeah... youre really intelligent

Proof that Obama isn't that great of a speaker than he appears. Even further proof.

Please, oh smart one, tell me how many years of executive experience does Obama have? ZERO. NONE. He has ran absolutely nothing in his life. Sarah Palin actually has leadership experience. Not to mention an approval rating of 80%. She's fought corruption in her own party. She's young, new, and more conservative than McCain, and brings energy to the campaign and the party. You see, your oh enlightened smartness, when choosing a VP, you usually choose what you lack. It was very good pick by McCain.

And another thing oh so intelligent, way to not mention the other things she's done and ran, and downplay her by calling her a "hockey mom", like she hasn't done anything in her life...... It just makes you sound oh so intelligent!

I, do not call her a hockey mom. I'm listing waht SHE lists as her credentials. Hockey mom, Point-Guard, opposed Bridge to Nowhere (LIE), and 20 months as governor of the least populated State. oh yeah. beauty queen. A reputation fueled by whistle blowing, not accomplishments. And McCain thinks this woman, who was picked over much more experienced women, would be able to lead if necesarry? BS
