So who do you think it will be?

I'm going to go with this. I'd be extremely surprised if anything other than this happens.Given recent historical precedent, I'd say there's a pretty good chance that it will be a Republican. And if not, then the one after that will almost certainly be a Republican.

As much as I do not want it to happen, I think Obama will win 2012. I just do not see a viable Republican candidate running. Even though the Repubs could theoretically cream Obama in the midterm at the rate popular opinion is going, chances are some neo-con will get the nomination. If they get their **** together, they do have a shot. I just don't see it happening soon. However, I think that it is likely that the Republicans will win 2016 in either case, but it is far too soon to tell.
I'm a young voter and I'm seriously doubting if I'm going to vote for Obama, and not for the reasons most of you probably think. I really don't want it to happen but some neo-conservative nutjob will probably take the vote. The ideal situation would be for a reasonable moderate who's not afraid to kick some congressional a$$ from either party to take over, but we all know that will never happen.iam pretty sure Obama will get a second term the republican party is trailing behind IMO
the number of voters who voted for obama last year will not go away IMO obama Ownz the Young voters and Minorties vote IMO

Same here.
I would say Obama is getting a second term because if history repeats itself then it doesn't matter how bad you mess things up you will still get reelected until you just can't anymore.
Obama will lose if he runs again. He has promised big and delivered nothing.savebatteryThe Black people will vote for him still.
Jimmy Carter George HW Bush Gerald Ford One term presidents in recent memory.I would say Obama is getting a second term because if history repeats itself then it doesn't matter how bad you mess things up you will still get reelected until you just can't anymore.

As far as youngsters go, getting them on the Democratic side isn't the challenge; rather it is getting them to care enough to go to the polls in significant numbers on election day. Since the Obama "magic" has run into reality, they may not be as excited about him as they were in '08. Still, the verdict is out on whether or not President Obama will win re-election. If he does, however, i'm sure the country will be thoroughly sick of him after eight years, as happens traditionally.[QUOTE="savebattery"]Obama will lose if he runs again. He has promised big and delivered nothing.MellosinfernoThe Black people will vote for him still. I won't (unless he picks up his act)and that's all that matters. Also even if he has a lot of black votes doesn't mean he'll win. The ratio of blacks voting is still pretty low (even when Obama was elected). Also a lot of them we will vote just because he's just black the next time around people will want someone who can preform a better job.

Actually, while Obama did accomplish the former, he didn't really do much as far as the latter goes. In 2004, Americans aged 18-24 made up 17% of the electorate according to exit polls. In 2008, they made up 18% of the electorate, which is basically a statistically insignificant change. The big difference was that the Democrat's share of that vote rose from 54% to 66%.
I agree and also fervently hope for it.Given recent historical precedent, I'd say there's a pretty good chance that it will be a Republican. And if not, then the one after that will almost certainly be a Republican.

I'll take a conservative nutjob over a liberal nutjob any day of the week.
But I think a moderate republican running on fiscal responsibility and economic recovery will win.
Yes. I think Obama will be re-elected since the GOP is in a bit of disarray...But they will bring the heat for 2016 and will likely win.Given recent historical precedent, I'd say there's a pretty good chance that it will be a Republican. And if not, then the one after that will almost certainly be a Republican.

If the economy gets better, Obama will win. If not, then probably a Republican (don't know who though).Engrish_Majoryeah i agree.. it pretty much all comes down to the economy.
Who cares? The real question is, when I run for president in 20 years can I count on GS' vote? I swear I will mention you all during campaigning and during my acceptance speech, if I winclayronThat depends. First, I would have to know where you stand on the important issues, i.e. Pie vs. Cake, which console you game on, and also if you've seen Star Crystal (and/or Alien). I know these are the important issues due to my time spent on GameSpot.

Its a travesty that today's youth and elderly suffer from deficiencies of Cheesecake intake, in what can only be classified as a gross neglect of duties by leading government officials. When it comes to gaming I believe all consoles should work together *interlocks fingers* to bring about a more cohesive and collaborative gaming experience. Why should PCs get games with the best graphics? Why should Mass Effect 18 only be a Microsoft exclusive? And God of War: The Reckoning only available on the PS: Infinity? America, I promise you that I will eliminate borders and increase console support the nation over. And lastly, *sits hands on podium and looks serious* Alien is one of the most amazing movies I have ever seen in my life. Any one who has not seen it will be arrested on site and charged with voluntary avoidance of sheer all-encompassing awesome. And levied with a hefty penalty. This America is just some of the things I will change when I am in office.

I'm going to guess Democrat, and specifically Obama, just because I can't think of anyone the Republicans could put forward that could win. I haven't heard an actual policy idea besides "I'm against socialism/Obama/etc." over the last year. When was the last time they said what they were IN FAVOR of aside from lower taxes? That works fine when you're just being an obstructionist minority, but when they are actually running for office, they'll have to start making actual policy suggestions and putting forth ways and ideas to fix problems. nocoolnamejim
Yes, but if Obama wins re-election, he won't be our next president. :P
