I'm in england and I had a giggle at this.

All this baseless hate is hilarious.
- Inherits one of the worst economic recessions in history.
- Inherits two unpopular wars.
- Inherits a government based in deficit spending.
Considering the country isn't a flaming heap at the moment I would say he has done a fairly good job...
You people constantly criticize the bailouts and the likes (which were started by Bush by the way)... Do you ever stop and contemplate what the country would be like if all of its major financial institutions collapsed as well as some of the nation's largest employers (automotive industry)...?
I mean honestly what do you expect? The government can't go from Republican spend thrifts and tax breaks causing extreme deficit spending one day to no deficit spending the next...
And Obama did what he could and ended Iraq as quickly as possible... It is a different story all together in Afghanistan... It isn't like Iraq where it was a bilateral action taken by the US and UK against a sovereign... Afghanistan was an international effort made by an international organization six decades in the making (NATO)... The US can't just back out one day and say "well we're done! bye!"... Despite what you isolationist wingnuts who think only the US matters in the world believe; the rest of the world, their opinons of us, and our interactions with them are of vital importance...

I just don't understand how people can be so clueless about so many things...
I don't think he has anything under his belt that would allow him to be considered "the greatest president". Maybe healthcare if only because it's taken us decades to accomplish and that's if it doesn't get struck down by the Supreme Court. Even that doesn't won't make a president "the greatest"in a lot of people's minds.
If he gets a second term and really pulls us out of the recession in a substantial way he could end up in the running for greatest modern president though.
I feel like he would have done alot more if republicans hadn't blocked just about everything he's proposed.

Hey! So do I.:|
No. He's rather ineffectual.LJS9502_basicThis. /thread He hasn't really done anything noticeably positive. FDR and Lincoln had.
Legacies can never be counted until decades after. Ultimately, Obama's legacy will depend on whether or not the ACA is uphelp, and will be tied to a do-nothing Congress that refuses to work with Obama out of principle.
He'll only get credit for being the first half black president, but he's still half white, so he won't be the first all minority president. However, most people will remember him as the guy that screwed things up worse than that 'Bush guy' before him............. I didn't even think that was possible.

A lot of people I know refuse to acknowledge he's mixed so they can continue to say he's the first black president. I found it funny but I see where they're coming from since after Obama it could possibly be decades before another minority is elected into the White House.
Yes,I wish we could have him run this country forever, just an amazing person Bucked20
Ignoring the 22nd Amendment, what has he done that qualifies him to be at the helm of the country for the rest of his life?
