not that i like avenge sevenfold, but i think its a pretty good name. and metallica is an awesome name! Linkin park is horid, KoRn is a terrible name, Limp Bizkit....nuf said. panic at the disco is also bad, arctic monkeys, blink 182, hoobastank are all terrible

Ooo Papa Roach that is a good one, i forgot about that one, i find that name very annoying. Although i like the Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, i do not really like the name. I also really do not like the name, Slayer, just sounds too generic. Youth Group
I'm sure i could list some names, but even if a band name is terrible, most of the time its so bad it works... :P

The name Linkin Park isn't that bad... though i don't understand what it is.. and Blink-182 was originally "Blink" but they changed it (just cause or because of copyrights, i forget) as there was a band of the same name from England (i think it was England) if that makes it any better :P
Arctic Monkeys is highlighted cause i like them... yeahh.. strange name ^^
edit: i looked through the entire thread for someone who listed "blink-182" so i could drop that little fact there :/

Yeah, but unlike Panic! At the Disco, GY!BE's incorrect punctuation just so happens to be the name of a documentary. Panic!'s is just something Morrissey decided to spit out in one of the Smiths albums.
Sorry if anyone put that up that before, I only went through the first page of posts. Anyway, as far as my opinion goes, I'd have to go with bands like Children of Bodom (despite the fact that they're awesome) and Cradle of Filth (who aren't quite as awesome).
That's a good name because you can call them butthole's as much as you want and they can't do anything because it's their name :D hahaha i actualy fell of my chair laughing at that :D my friend is in a band called port_o_potty

No offense if this isn't true, but seems to me like you should rename the thread title to "what bands do you hate?" and in your post say "I hate all "emo" bands like MCR and P!ATD" then have somebody reply with "they aren't emo" (me). I like MCR and they are Alternative Rock. No offense, but it just gets on my nerves to think you did that for this reason.
Do you think that everybody is going to name the bands they hate? Well imo Panic! At The Disco is pretty clever but I don't like the music at all. Same thing with Godspeed You! Black Emperor. The older Soilwork albums are great, but the name's not that great.
Mustard Plug There are way too many ska and "punk" bands with stupid names. It seems like some teenagers just blurt out 2 or 3 words, slap em together to create a name, then play what they call "punk" but is reminiscent of making horrible noises with guitars, trumpets, and vocal chords.

That's the best band name ever, not the worst. :P The length is what kills it. I imagine their fans have made up an acronym so that they don't have to say the whole band name in a casual conversation. It's kind of like people who live in a town with a huge name. They have a shortened nickname.
Dodo and the Dodos, The Naked Brothers Band, Arctic Monkeys, Wolfmother (I mean, wtf..) Kraftwerk (hurray for germans), System of a Down, Infected Mushroom, Tool.. Just what came to mind.
