Not necessarily. It all depends on what your personal belief is.

I'm going to have to say yes. World religions speak only of Earth. If there were other species from other planets surely they would be important to include, if indeed these are the words of gods.

'Course, those of us who think otherwise know that it is the word of man who never once thought about aliens when writing the texts 2000 years ago.

In short, you can't say that just ebcause they'e NOT mentioned doesn;t mean they don't exist; the fact that they're not mentioned means they don't/can't exist, but in our hyopthetical question states they do exist.

I could have said that smarter.

I believe yes and no. Some religions would make it work, though others, it would turn upside down. To have God create us in His image, have his son sacrifice himself for our sins, well, thats makes us earthlings a little full of ourselves, no?

I'm going to say 'No' on this one. I don't see how that could disprove Christianity but we're all entitled to our own opinions.

Whilst that is true, no doubt, you could still argue the point of there being a God.

It's like those who believe in evolution as well as Christianity - why would there be a God to only humans and not to ants? Why would Jesus come to Earth as a human? On that issue my personal belief is that Jesus came as a human to Earth because we're the only lifeforms on this planet that have the intellectual ability to comprehend a higher being. I believe that God does not only represent humans, but He represents every life form in the universe.

Again, my personal belief.

It's always been one of the conspiracy theories. That the government couldn't allow aliens to be found out because their discovery would cause mass hysteria in religions.

That's what I was about to say. Even if it didn't 100% disprove any major religions it would still cause mass chaos, which is pathetic and immature on the part of the human race.

Alot of christians simply deny evolution. If an Alien came down in a space ship and said "Hi" it would be alot harder to deny. You couldn't just say "The facts don't support it!" about that. You couldn't deny it.

The Catholic Religion changed when it was proven that Earth was not the center of the earth, which at the time was a HUGE DEAL, so I don't see this being any different. All religions that refuse to change would die out, all the Religions that conform would survive...

Maybe there is no universal purpose, and we are just here because of a series of events? We make our own purpose. Some of us follow religion for guidance, others (such as myself) make their own way. We just are. Do what you want.

no we are here to die

No we aren't. Think about it. I'm atheist, therefore I deny the fact that life was designed or is controlled by a higher being. If there is no single entity behind life then therefore it has no purpose. You are saying that the purpose of life "is to die", because it's what we all eventually do. You could equally say that the purpose of life is to live, as you must live to die. Your argument is shallow and unfounded.

Life has no set purpose. If it is your purpose in life to die, then you must be taking your time, or you are bad at achieving your goals.

I stated that "I refuse to believe that I am here simply to die." You followed by saying "Your desire to not believe something has no impact on its truthfulness." As that regardless of what I believe that doesn't mean it's not true. So I asked a question, what proof do you have that the sole reason people are born is to die. There is no proof either way, so I simply picked what I find more suitable.

i do see ur point there i dont beleve in a "higher being" but its easyer to die then to live, so what ur saying is "behind life then therefore it has no purpose" that we are here becouse we and that we have no meanin in life?

I don't think aliens are mentioned anywhere in the bible. They woudl be 'just one fo God's creatures' However if aliens do meet us one day and Christianity is still live and kicking more than likely the believers will come up with some excuse for soemthign and then twist the meanings of the words in the bible to meet their own needs. As would the believers of the Koran and any other holy text you can think of.

If it is your purpose in life to die, then you must be taking your time, or you are bad at achieving your goals.

i do see ur point there i dont beleve in a "higher being" but its easyer to die then to live, so what ur saying is "behind life then therefore it has no purpose" that we are here becouse we and that we have no meanin in life?

....Sorry? I have no idea what you are trying to say. That post was very unclear. What I'm saying is that we have no purpose, but we make our own 'purpose' or 'role' or 'goal' in life, in which we strive for. For example, mine is to be successful and happy.

What I'm saying is that there is no global meaning of life which applies to every person. We are here because of a series of events which lead to our evolution, and as our brains grew, so did our thirst for meaning. We invented out own meanings, alas, not one of them applies to all human beings.

I'm sure you would have crazy, bible thumping evangelists trying to help the aliens find Jesus.
