My country's never gonna be in that kind of danger. We're too nice here in Canada. Luncbox1you dont even have to fight and die for canada....all someone has to do is bring blow dryers and heaters to melt your igloo cities and your government would surrender....:P
Ok so I think a good amount of people would defend their homeland. But I wonder how many would support an assault on another "innocent" country?locopathoi dont think anyone, thats terrorism
Simple random question. Would you die to defend your homeland? Assuming that none of your friend or relatives are in specific danger, would you go out to fight, and die? locopathoYour making it sound like I am the only one charging into a field full of machine gunners...
Thats not true el fanboy. Nationalism is about the country, the state being more importent than the people. Its not an ideology I believe in but I find it interesting nonetheless.locopathothats the idealism of the governing body who is engaging in war, not the personal view of the soldier.
Nationalsim is a huge part of fascism yes, but not all nationalists are fascists. Btw its funny all the canadians couldnt give a flyingg f*ck bout canada lollocopathoSome degree of nationalism is required for the survival of any state. Without some degree of unification, a state will fracture and die.

It's nothing like that. We love our country. We just don't see the point in dying for it, much less any country.
But if you loved Canada, could you watch it taken over or destroyed without fighting back?locopatho
Of course I'd fight. I was thinking you meant death as a decision made by the country itself. Perhaps it's the perspective on war. Saying I would die for my country is like saying I know we've already failed. Instead I'll say that I'd fight for my country.
