I know my death wouldn't be a central role in a Canadian victory. I just meant it as a general concept in the phrase "die for my country". As for the question itself, I would accept death but I wouldn't necessarily say it's for my country unless it were one of, if not the country in need. Whether it's an individual or a group, the death is for the victim. For me "I would die for my country"Â feels like saying I did it for governmental benefit when instead I would want it to be more of a "I would die for those in need".
