Technology is emerging that is blurring the lines between human and computer. Recently, scientists have come up with methods to allow your brain to properly interface with a computer, or with other bionic parts of your body.

Lets say that one day, scientists come up with things like retinal computer displays, and brain/computer interface technology and are able to implant them inside you.

My question to you is... would you get bionic/cyborg technology implanted in your body.

I would.

I doubt I would decline it.

Most humans beings has the knowlage that the body is weak, and degenerates fast, if you could switch out parts, with no real loss, but alot of gain, I would in a heartbeat.

Ofcourse there would be people who things it is wrong, that it is not natural, but neither are cars or society, just because it is man made, doessnt make it flawed or wrong.

It could also beof really good use in alot of jobs, anddiffecult work conditions (altho there will surely be less gloriousmilitery applications aswell).

I would definitely become a cyborg like the Terminator. Walk around and just be like, "I'll be back." and then ram a car through their front door. The cops couldn't do much because I'm a damn super-soldier cyborg.

Although i'd still have some consideration for "original" persons, i'm sure i'd be one of the firsts if i could. But i'd welcome technology that would not only better us but also create a society free of pain and allowing a life completely devoted to the sciences, or the arts, or whatever we wish. Basically, i expect the AI revolution to push forward the society and human race into a post human state. Post humanism runs in my blood.

Crashes and BSODs are annoying enough on my computer; I can only imagine how much it would suck with my prosthetic liver or a physics coprocessor installed in my brain.

I want a phone inside my head, so that I could call someone and talk to them without speaking out loud.

Also, a calculator inside my head would be useful.

Personally I think cybernetics is our next step in human evolution. Because we as a species over the years have improved our might with external weapons and improved our travel speed with transport. Who's to say after centuries of trying to make us stronger as a species that we'd reject cybernetics that would drastically improve ourselves physically?
