I' prefer living in a small town. Preferably, far away from big ones.
And I prefer living on the outside of the small town.. some place in the woods.

Wouldn't surprise me that was your answer.. :P
No offense. I just figured from the various posts and answers I've seen from you.
I'm the opposite. Big city.. (:

edit: two people beat me to it. the first part of my post was directed to "EMOEVOLUTION".. :P
Small town..i hate cities...too many people...and they never smell nice...at least living somewhere somewhat rural i get the smell of woods and pine trees...not gas fumes and humanity..
I've lived in all three. But would pick The Middle. As of right now I live in a town of 200 people. give or take 2 or 3. lol. And I hate it, more than words can say. Living in Minnesota, I miss trees more than I do people tho. and sunshine. lol
Suburbia of the big city. I am lucky enough to be a but a short drive from all three. Hooray for California.Sajedeneno. hooray for maryland :S
i live in suburbia... with acres of woods behind my house... perfectJandurinwhat's the wildlife like? just drunk homeless people using drugs?

[QUOTE="rawsavon"]Big city...not even close -came from a town of 225,000 to one of the biggest cities in the US (Dallas) -could not live (figure of speech obviously) in a town smaller than 200,000EMOEVOLUTIONbiggest town near me is like 25,000 people.. I' have to travel 2 hours to a place with 100,000 people and 4 hours to any place with more than 250,00 people. That is crazy...what state I wonder (i know you are a private type of guy) I 'need' a good bar scene though

The only thing that makes me slightly hesitant is the fact that i'd like to be somewhere around 30 mins or less from a town with a competent hospital staff and such as well as stores for buying clothes etc...my aunt and uncle lived in upstate new york for a bit...nearest store was an hour away...it was weird having to go that far to get food...and i'm too lazy to drive for an hour JUST for food..:x

More specifically UPPER Peninsula Michigan. and if you must know we have one of the highest alcoholism rates in the United States and there are plenty of bars. But, I love it here.. surrounded by 2 big lakes.. and 3 other large ones relatively close. Lots of wild life. Lots of trees. Lots of inland lakes. Perfect temperatures.

Ya...the QTY of bars is not the issue...it is the Quality (I like certain, very specific things in bars) -mostly Texas Bars, but could be found in most big cities I imagine Also, I allow myself to eat badly 1 day a week, and I want some good food on that day -variety and quality
Wow, drunk, homeless and on drugs? Around my area, we call that the Trifecta. And, I don't know about you, but if I'm not all three by Sunday morning, then I call that a failed weekend!what's the wildlife like? just drunk homeless people using drugs?

[QUOTE="EMOEVOLUTION"]what's the wildlife like? just drunk homeless people using drugs? lol i've never seen a person back there mostly a ton of deer and squirrels we had a moose walk through town here. deer always running around. One morning as I was coming home from work I was pulling in through an ally way.. and a deer was going to the bathroom like 10 yards away from me,, and I was like WTF. Why do you have to do that in front of me. A black bear ran into my car once as I was leaving town. I didn't hit the bear.. it hit me.. it ran into the side of my car.. not sure what happened to it. I don't think it died or anything.[QUOTE="Jandurin"]i live in suburbia... with acres of woods behind my house... perfectJandurin

Hooray for California.Jandurinno. hooray for maryland :S Lol I dont know man - On a free day I can drive 2 hours early in the morning and snow board and by the afternoon go to the beach then party it up in the desert in the middle of the night. Not a lot of places can give me that.
I want to live in a place like in Hot Fuzz. So I can just walk down the street and get something and don't have to use a car. Thats the thing that I hate about America, you need to use a car to get everywhere. Someone said that Europe had better city planning and I think that is right.
You have a great point.. the transportation system in the United States is horrible. The roads are falling apart.. most of the bridges need to be repaired.. there is essentially no mass transit outside of the big cities.. we rely on singular trucks to transport most of the goods.. seriously.. it's a joke.I want to live in a place like in Hot Fuzz. It's not as beautiful as the town in Hot Fuzz, but my neighborhood is like that. I can walk to 3 full grocery stores, two movie theaters, dozens of restaurants and bars, my dentist, a train station, and a small mall. I hardly ever drive.
