I like somewhere in between. Enough where I can have all the amenities, but not enough to have awful traffic and 3.4 million people that want to see the same movie you do at the same time.
Cool. I don't go north of the beltway much in that direction, but it looks like there's a lot of stuff in the Four Corners area. University Blvd and 29, right?Engrish_Majoryup or as I like to think of it, 193. :P
I want to live in a place like in Hot Fuzz. So I can just walk down the street and get something and don't have to use a car. Thats the thing that I hate about America, you need to use a car to get everywhere. Someone said that Europe had better city planning and I think that is right.
It's not as beautiful as the town in Hot Fuzz, but my neighborhood is like that. I can walk to 3 full grocery stores, two movie theaters, dozens of restaurants and bars, my dentist, a train station, and a small mall. I hardly ever drive. (Silver Spring, MD btw, about a mile outside of DC). That is simlar to Addison (where I live)...part of the metroplex -I am 10 min away from everything, but can go into the heart of Dallas if need bemy wife works at discovery. you could visit her :o lulz "Hello Ma'am. No need to worry. I'm from the internet." Would she get it, I wonder.Jandurin
I'm sure she would. I'll just wear my special "I'm from the internet" suit.

I would totally live in a huge city, except for the fact that traffic sucks in them. (I really enjoy driving for the sake of it...) I guess somewhere in between. Like a suburb near a major city.

I live outside of a city of about 50,000 and I wouldn't want to live anywhere with a bigger population than that.
I live in a small city with a population of 80,000. Being young, I don't like it. I'd rather live in Vancouver. I like the sights and sounds of a city but at the same time, I'd rather retire in a small town.
Suburbs FTW.
Only if you want a family...at least in big cities...I would never want to make the commute into Dallas every day...those people spend 2 hours on the road each day...**** that -not worth having a yard IMO i work in the suburbs :P[QUOTE="rawsavon"][QUOTE="Renegade_Fury"]Only if you want a family...at least in big cities...I would never want to make the commute into Dallas every day...those people spend 2 hours on the road each day...**** that -not worth having a yard IMO i work in the suburbs :P That works then...I just would never spend over an hour each day commuting...seems like such a waste of your lifeSuburbs FTW.

Ditto. My wife works downtown but the bus only takes about 15-20 minutes to get to her office from our bus stop. You must have terrible traffic down there or something Rawsavon.

I don't have to drive in it (i live 7 min from work with little traffic or 20 with heavy) -but some people commute more than an hour each way ...that is what you have to do if you want an affordable, nice house with a yard in the Dallas 'area' I could care less about that -I have an apartment now and will buy a condo or townhouseI live in a small town of like 20,000 people and its SO BORING there is nothing to do hardly anywhere to shop or go....grown up with pretty much the same kids my whole life and you no pretty much most people in around your age...worst part full of drama and people gossip 24/7 its retarded therefore big city cant wait to move !misskarli24I never really understood that mentality. I'm always hearing people say there is nothing to do in small towns, but I don't think that's true at all.. I think people who say that struggle to entertain themselves. Shopping and materialism is the only enjoyment you have in your life?
Small town living really sucks. I mean seriously, if i don't know what is goin on in my life all I have to do is ask someone that I pass on the street and they will fill me in. LOL. There is nothing worse than other people knowin your own life story, who you were in high school, who you became after you got married. who you are sleepin with and when you have a pregancy scare. That "neighborly" feeling gets super old, super fast.
I live in semi-rural areas and it is a pain in the backside. The internet is crap, it's a 15 minute drive to the closest shop (which is where I work), it's an hours drive from university, and you never have people just 'pop in'. My friends for the past year have only been to my place once because I live far out and it would be pointless coming here ... I'm moving out soon though :)
At the moment, I live in between, there is a few forests around, then it all just turns to hills for a while until you get to another town.
I prefer to be in between, it's the best of both worlds, it's quiet around here and I'm only about 20mins drive from Manchester City Centre.
Big city so so easily. Like the fact that there is actually stuff to do in a big city as opposed to a small town. Could not live in a place with less then 200,000 people.
I think i prefer a small town but also reckon that big city would be good also. The benefits of living in a small town is that you would be able to remeber peoples names as their won't be so many people then a big city. This can also be bad because it's a small town it's likely that everyone knows each other and if you have a problem with a person then nearly everyone would know about it. Were as in a city if the same thing happened there the chances of someone you know from hearing about it are 1 to 1000 chance.
Well i guess that's just my point of view.
