[QUOTE="misskarli24"]I live in a small town of like 20,000 people and its SO BORING there is nothing to do hardly anywhere to shop or go....grown up with pretty much the same kids my whole life and you no pretty much most people in around your age...worst part full of drama and people gossip 24/7 its retarded therefore big city cant wait to move !EMOEVOLUTIONI never really understood that mentality. I'm always hearing people say there is nothing to do in small towns, but I don't think that's true at all.. I think people who say that struggle to entertain themselves. Shopping and materialism is the only enjoyment you have in your life?
I live in a super small town and yes I do struggle to entertain myself.BUT it has nothing to do with shopping and materialism. I love watching movies and I read close to 20 books a month and I work a full time job. I get online (duh). But reading/tv/movies/games and internet can only be so entertaining for so long. I'm 25 and there is only TWO other people in my town that are remotely close to my age. So I have no near by friends to hang out with. No one wants to come to the middle of nowhere with nothing to do or any place to go. Yes, shoppin is nice, I am a girl after all. But I get sick of having to drive 2 hrs to the closest clothing store when I need something.
A big city, the more people, the less people notice you.wigan_gamerI feel the opposite in a big city.. I feel the more people that are around.. the more they notice you.

that's because they're trying to see if they know you so they can say hello.EMOEVOLUTIONAhhh I see... so it has nothing to do with Deliverance...
Some people say hi to your face...others say hello in another wayrawsavon:lol: I guess everyone has their own 'friendly gestures'.
Though the friendliness is often in the eye of the beholder and in the...errr, never mind
...ear?Ya...sure...that is the exact orifice I was referring torawsavonAs long as it involves artichokes, it's fine with me. Maybe these small-town folk aren't that bad, after all!
[QUOTE="Engrish_Major"][QUOTE="akbar13"]It's not as beautiful as the town in Hot Fuzz, but my neighborhood is like that. I can walk to 3 full grocery stores, two movie theaters, dozens of restaurants and bars, my dentist, a train station, and a small mall. I hardly ever drive. (Silver Spring, MD btw, about a mile outside of DC). I can walk to a bunch of grocery stores, shops, restaurants, bars, my dog's groomer and vet, work (but I choose not to walk hahaha), the buses, theatres, and all these tourist spots. (West Hollywood!)I want to live in a place like in Hot Fuzz. So I can just walk down the street and get something and don't have to use a car. Thats the thing that I hate about America, you need to use a car to get everywhere. Someone said that Europe had better city planning and I think that is right.

West Hollywood...NICE area!I live Northridge which is in the San Fernando Valley.
To me, small towns tend to smell like manure.small. too much stench in the big ones.
