Assuming this took place in the real-life reality: The human.
I'm not a selfish piece of s---.

Ha.
To justify my last post before someone calls me inhuman, if my dog were somehow hanging over a cliff, I would probably be running after her and trying to catch her before I notice that there is another person hanging lower. I would probably yell for help, but by the time I get my dog, the person would have fallen and died (?).

Agreed how did Joey fall of in the first place? I have no more interest in my species, state, town, or country then any other so I'd save my dog, well for me it would be my cat. Also it says he is further down meaning there would be more danger to me and more likely that he would fall by the time I reach him.Our species could use a good dose of natural selection

My dog is never on a leash, it runs around in our backyard and in our house. Speak for yourself. My dog works the coal mines.

Nah.. More like indentured servants.Although my cat isnt a servant, in any way. In many ways, he's more free than i am.
What dumbass would save a smelly dog over a human Bucked20What dumbass would save another dumbass over a dog?
I guess its only fair I save the guy since he has a LOT more life to live then my middle aged dog has. Don't want to ruin the chance that he discovers the cure for cancer or something.

Most people. It's human nature to protect our own interests first, so we will save any pet before we save some random stranger. Anyone who says otherwise is self-rightous and ignorant.

There's very few people I would choose over my cat (I'm not a dog person), and a random stranger isn't one of them.
Unless they were a relative or friend I would save my dog and I'm dead serious about that. My dog has been a better companion and friend then most people. I owe it to him.
I don't get how some people can't seem to grasp the concept that you can love your dog as if they were family. My dog...for Christ sakes if someone threatens my pets life I'll kill them without a second thought... After awhile they become family.

I would kill(or at least severly beat) anyone who threatened or hurt my dog as well:)

[QUOTE="junglist101"]That's what people say who have never had a dog that meant something to them... I've never had a pet at all... If that explains something. It does. I had dogs in my family as a kid but never paid much attention to them. A few years ago my wife and I got a dog. Our dog turned out to be quite special. Different than most dogs. It's difficult to explain but anyone who has spent any time with him knows what I'm talking about. This changed my views not only on pets, but animals in general. He has become literally a member of my family. So to bring some understanding, just think about someone you care about and love.[QUOTE="horgen123"] My thoughts to...
