Okay so I was just wondering how much people here actually think they are pretty fit. Like I think I'm pretty fit. I workout 4 days a week. My endarance is pretty good. My arms are pretty cut and my stomach is flat, though I don't have a six pack (working on it), my shoulders are pretty muscular as well.

Honoestly like when I'm in the gym most of people there look pretty fit. Like some guys look pretty cut. When I leave the gym and go to wal-mart or something most people I see walking around look really out of shape.

Well I was wondering how much people here would say their fit? Be honest and don't lie. Your only lying to yourself.

I'm still out of shape right now, but I've started cycling everyday so I'm working on it.

Depends on your standards. I'm in far better shape than the average American. I'm in excellent shape by official Army standards. I'm in so-so shape by the standards of people in the Army who are in super condition. There's always someone who's in better shape than you. :(

How is that...no reason to get angry. I just find it funny you said you were all muscle...I thought you intended it as a joke Also, I don't think I was the only one to point out that pushups a couple times a week =/= being in shape But it is just OT on GS, no reason to get upset

I'd say I'm pretty unfit. I'm not fat by any means, but there's not a single muscle in my upper body, and I can't run to save my life. I rarely do any physical activity other than walking; I think the only actual workouts I ever get are with my girlfriend. :P

No reason to apologize to me, I don't take the interwebs very seriously. I come here to enjoy myself. If I got butt-hurt about comments like that I would lead a pretty miserable life I would tell you to edit your post so you don't get modded, but they can see the edits. Hopefully they will miss that comment

these threads would be epic with pics  anyways even though I play 3 sports(hockey, football, golf) and go to the gym usually 5 times a week for an hour and a half, I would not say I am very fit. I have a decent bit of fat on me and my diet is pretty bad. Not to mention that I am usually heavily sleep deprived.

5'6 and being 120 is really really skinny if your a guy. But then again maybe ur still really young. Your body might still be developing. I say do some strength training and gain some muscles. Like if your really skinny and you start working out and when you start gaining muscle you'll look really cut cause their will be no fat covering up your muscles. Thats how you get cut. Low body fat and lean muscle.

The average american is pretty bad. I think army standard is good enough.chansaet

The high Army standard is...

  • 80 pushups in two minutes
  • 80 situps in two minutes
  • Two-mile run in 13 minutes

Which is way better than the typical person, but isn't impressive to a real athlete.

That's the standard... TBH, I thought it would be a lot tougher than that. I figured that would be the entrance 'exam' (just to get in)

I call myself "V Man" sometimes. I have a very tiny stomach that broadens into very large shoulders, so it looks like the letter V. I am in excellent shape a swim competetivily 4 to 6 days a week from 2 to 4 hours each day, depending on the season I currently am in. However, I'm 5'11 and only weigh 129 pounds... but I am extremely strong for my weight.

5'11.5" 165-170. My weight goes up and down. I'm pretty fit. I can't a 5 mile like I used to but I'm in good shape. I can't say that I eat super healthy though. I love junk food but my metabolism is really high so it never shows. Currently, I'm growing a beard and I will name myself "Grizzly Adams."
