[QUOTE="JustusCF"][QUOTE="Nibroc420"] So you blame the statistics that are gathered, and how they're used to represent things?Nibroc420
The statistic diatribe was brought up because I've seen people use them to "prove" their superiority, using the collective mindset that they are not themselves, but they are part of this group and every aspect of that group pertains to themselves. In essence, it's the differences that bring about racism, it's not as simple as skin color, as the OP tries to say; as if it's not personality or anything other than the basic face, when in reality it's the underlying reason for the collectivism... That and other biological factors.
Which is where i have a problem. People can say "More men than women study sciences, as such, men must like science more." Statistics prove my point in that scenario. However if i were to say "African Americans have a higher drop out rate than Asians, as such Asians must view school as more important" I'm suddenly a racist. It's ridiculous.Well, I think collectivism is all the same (in that I think that even the smallest amount can eventually manifest into something bigger), but I admit that there are definitely varying degrees of it.
Even if you are racist for saying that, it's not like you want to hang all black people... as a "minority" myself, I certainly wouldn't hate you over recognizing a fact, unless you were to use it to group me with those, and say that you're better than me because of it.
