Maybe, you know, they're striking cause they still haven't been tried and it turned out that many were innocent and released despite it being years later. Did you even watch the video?

At what point did I ask why they were striking? It's immaterial to what I posted.

Well it seems like you don't care at all, but just wanted to make some remark and your posting history has always been "The U.S. can do no wrong". So it's pretty natural that I assume that you're going to try and spin this to a non issue. Again, did you WATCH the video?

Don't care? Hmm.....you are the one complaining because they are feeding hunger strikers. Would you prefer they let them die? Then you'd make a thread whining about that.

How about they aren't put in a position were all they have left is hunger strike, but that would involve a right to a trial and we can't have that, can we?

The Geneva convention.

Edit: You still haven't answered if you watched the video. Are you one of those persons who approve of depleted uranium and then ignore all videos/images and articles that it has on the population, cause you just can't be bothered?

You know, either you obviously can't google a simple sentence like "the right to trial" or you're just simply trolling (and I doubt that, since I've read your posts on many threads before) You also refuse to answer whether or not you watched the video. I find myself wanting to post pictures of deformed Iraqi children that has been the result from depleted uranium, cause I know damn well, that you never watched it before. Well right to a trial is different than right to a speedy trial....which is what I thought we were talking about.

Good to know the U.S. is humane enough to prevent starvation but not enough to stop holding them captive against their will with no charges or trial.

Why? It's pretty evident that they're not hunger striking for fun. This video just goes to show what it's the standard procedure in gitmo, which in turn raises awareness that people are still held there without having been tried. Hell, there are still prisoners in gitmo that have been cleared for release, but haven't been yet. One of the more known cases in Europe is the case of Murat Kurnaz, who spent 5 years in gitmo without being charged and it turned out he was innocent.

It's better than letting them starve to death. Although if possible I would prefer that they get on with their trials when tactically possible.

No, I rather post that link so people can see the procedure and then move on from there. If you haven't noticed there are still people on this forum who don't see anything wrong with what's going on in gitmo, this video is meant as much for them as for anyone else.

So what is your solution to the problem? You seem to be complaining and telling us we need to feel sorry for the detainees but you aren't giving any real solutions.

to show them a procedure that is carried out to prevent people from starving to death?it would be better to start an argument about the legalitity/ethics of gitmo.  I'm sure people can agree with the procedure, but not the reason they're there

I already wrote that they should be tried. That's a solution, why the hell do you think they're hungerstriking they've been imprisoned for over a decade and still haven't even been charged. And when cases like Murat Kurnaz shows that they've been kept in gitmo despite knowing that they're innocent for over 5 years then we got a problem. Gitmo should be taken down and the remaining prisoners should be tried in front of a judge.

The video (which seems no one here bothered to watch) is reason enough to bring up that gitmo is still up and that people are hungerstriking there. If you don't like it, tough break.

Pretty damn nasty.

m25105

I think it's a crime that military servicepersons are being ordered to do this, because they shouldn't be forced to engage in a grotesque procedure to assist deranged Islamic terrorists.  The job of these military servicepersons is hard enough without having to do this.  Let 'em starve.  It's also a crime in my view to provide these animals with gold-plated medical, dental, and optical care.  Let 'em rot.

They're not entitled to due process.

[QUOTE="m25105"] No need for it.m25105

apparently there is because you keep talking about it, outside the initial topic

The video (which seems no one here bothered to watch) is reason enough to bring up that gitmo is still up and that people are hungerstriking there. If you don't like it, tough break.

Gitmo needs to be expanded, conditions for prisoners worsened, and mass arrest operations should be conducted in many Muslim-majority countries.

[QUOTE="m25105"][QUOTE="ad1x2"] So what is your solution to the problem? You seem to be complaining and telling us we need to feel sorry for the detainees but you aren't giving any real solutions.PC_gamer4life

It's possible for someone to have been arrested for terrorism or militantism without actually having done what they're accused of.

Yes. But that also doesn't mean Gitmo is filled with innocents does it?

No, but what if there are, which isn't exactly out of the question.

Well I'd rather they looked at evidence and removed the marginal people.....
