Now that's irony.

lol, numerology.
You can prove God exists with the phone book using that example.
dealjobber
Precisely. This is not proof. This is people trying really hard to find relationships to make something ordinary seem complex. If you look hard enough, you can find coincidental appearances of a number in any lengthy text you want.
God doesn't do stuff like make mountains into squirrels because that would take away the whole point of having faith in him. if you say a millionairre lives next door and one day the millionaire went to all your friends houses and showed them all his money it would take away the point of believing.Half-Life_man

What is the point in believing someone if they are unwilling to prove their claims? If I told you I had a million dollars, would you believe me? Probably not. If I told you that I am God, and that you must worship me, would you believe? I doubt it. You'd demand I prove myself. Then I'd tell you that demanding I prove myself is blasphemous, and that you must simply believe. But you still wouldn't believe. Do you see why this idea falls apart under scrutiny? Ironically, the only reason you CAN believe in God is that He has been conceptualized and described as being outside of our ability to comprehend, and so can not be disproven. Had He been described in any tangible way (in the way that the Roman or Greek gods were), we would have long given up on the idea that He exists.
Whether they knew for sure or not, your friends would believe that the millionaire had a million dollars - except that in one instance, they would have no reason to believe and in the other they would. Faith demands you believe in a claim which is not proven, and religion demands that you submit your life to a set of principles based on unfounded claims. Slaves are made in such ways.
i've picked 3 articles, but there are loads you can read through,. none of these are anybodies opinion, they all based on facts HOWEVER, its upto YOU to verify those facts
some of the articles are quite long, but you're just gonna have to accept that if you want proof, you're just gonna have to do some reading, and thinking.. btw, it don't matter too much which order you read em in

You do know that the "mathematical phenomena" in the Koran has been tested and verified and proven to be false, having a margin of error for each result ?

Clearly he doesn't. This thread is the proof.
Yah, that news is old and it's been confirmed long ago that these math things were just made up. They've been tested by muslim scholars themselves
I went to the articles you provided and they all mentioned the Quran. Are you using this resource for proof that God exists?I hope not because the Quran is the last place anyone should go for the truth about God. I caught a glimpse of a sentence that said that Jesus is not the unique son of God.Do you really believe this garbage. Jesus is the son of God and the Bible in it's true interpretation clearly states that God is the father, son, and Holy Spirit in one.The Quran has no historical basis unlike the Bible and cannot be proven. cukoo
ROFL?
We know Muhammed existed, but do we know Jesus existed?!?!?!?
We actually know Muhammed and his people existed, what historical basis you need? While Christianity is a bunch of Gospels writing about a man named Jesus decades and centuries after him.
Bible can't be proven, Quran can't be proven.

hmm nice read but really that doesnt mean that there is god. imagine a terrorist who blows himself up along with a bus load goes straight to heaven and also has 21 young virgins!!
ha how is that possible?!
please dont dont give such stuff or explain to me how these people go to heaven?
Faith is almost the opposite to proof. I'm not saying anyone should have blind faith, it's just thatwhere these matters are concerned, we use faith and religion to explain the inexplicable.

...so you're trying to justify God with Gematriya? Even some huge believers of God think that Gematriya is completely pointless.

Hey man, Gimatrya is what got me 300 shekels a year from my grandmother while my brother only got 90 when we were kids. I wouldn't call that pointless.
I'm sorry, but unless you teach me Arabic and give me a valid copy of the Quran, I can't verify those claims.Zagrius
Great point; so many things are lost in translation.
If you prove the existence of God, you take away the mystery of what lies beyond our own world, and that would make life pretty boring and useless. People who need proof of God, should instead try to develop their belief skills.

oops sorry then
you know its funny how in every religious thread that comes up, you guys love to go on about how you can't prove god... and now once you get presented with something, you refuse to read through it..
..you wanna call me pathetic, fine go ahead, but at least i know i aint ignorant

dude, if math is god than let it be known than mathmaticians are preachers.
just because the quran has math doesnt mean ANYTHING.

Yet another terrible attempt at explaining the total lack of evidence for faith. When you go to university, you expect and know that you if you complete your assignments, you will graduate with a degree. Does that make the experience boring and useless? Yeah... I thought not. Having a tangible goal to strive for does not make something boring and useless. On the contrary, it usually fuels your desire to complete a task and do it well. You know the university exists in your tangible reality, and you know that you will receive a tangible reward for your work, and yet you don't find it boring and useless. Go figure.
The reason God must remain shrouded in mystery is that, in the sense of every organized human religion, He or they or it is imaginary. Any human religion that stated God or gods were tangible and existed on this world have long since been disproven, because no one could possibly believe the claims when we explore the reputed 'homes of the gods' and find nothing there, or discover that lightning strikes or volcanic eruptions are actually perfectly natural (and even to some degree predictable) events. Thus, the only way for a religion to survive is to claim that God is beyond our comprehension, thus rendering it impossible to disprove its existence. The problem, of course, is that the burden of proof to find tangible evidence lies on those who make the claim (i.e. theists). If I claimed I was God, people would expect me to prove it, or they would not believe me. In fact, they may even kill me for blasphemy. Why then do they wholeheartedly believe words written in centuries old books that, like me, do not offer any evidence at all for their validity, beyond some coincidences that die hard believers dig up, trying desperately to 'prove' their belief?
Developing your belief skills amounts to one thing - learning to lie to yourself, and convince yourself that you believe something without evidence, usually because you really want it to be true. It depends on the ability to misinterpret findings, focusing only on those findings which support your chosen belief, and ignoring all that contradicts it. That's it. Frankly, I don't think this is a worthy pursuit. But if you want to believe in what amounts to fiction until real evidence is discovered, far be if from me to tell you not to. Just don't look down at those who believe other fictions to be true.
god cant be proven. its called faith
i dont have it, but most do. and its those people that believe in god
There is no God, because he let Stevie Ray Vaughan die. If there was a God, he wouldn't have killed such a talented guitarist so young. I know there are many people that have been killed way to young, but this is who I chose for this example:Pmetallica_fan42Maybe God wanted Stevie for himself...

Then if God can't be seen, heard, smelt, tasted, or felt (the five senses), then how did people know he "existed" in the first place? That's what I want to know.
