Everyone has it. Eating it makes you feel better, calmer, maybe more relaxed. My comfort food makes my whole day better!

...

And mine is....DUN DUN DUN..... East China's General Tso's Chicken!!!

...

You can get General Tso's chicken at most Chinese Restaurants, but I have grown attacthed to this store's particular version. I go to school about two hours from where I did most of my growing up, and thoughout high school my friends and teammates and I would sometimes go grab some lunch at East China. With a mere $4.50 (ish) I get a pop/water and an insane amount of perfectly cooked and seasoned chicken, topped with sauce I wouldn't mind taking a bath in :D (sad, but true). I usually get it to go, as when I am back in my hometown I usually hang around the house. I enjoy the little bits of chicken heaven and then mix the leftover sauce (there is always plenty 8)) in with their fantastic chinese rice. It's almost like a dessert :). Their General Tso'sChicken just tastes like home! Arg!!!! Now I want some in the middle of the night!!! There are others worth mentioning, but this is certainly my top confort food.

...

Go into detail!!!

...

KSU_WILDCAT: Chinese food.(Lame, huh? Don't do this!)

...

Tell us why it's so good!

...

- Good eatin :D

When I'm upset or depressed I usually stop eating because I lose my appetite.

Comfort may be the wrong word then...

Favorite Food? Sounds boring.

Don't take my comfort food as something to eat while feeling down, but just the food that makes you feel amazing!

Mine is Chinese food too! Well the Americanized version of it at least. That's really funny that they call it East China's General Tso chicken considering that Tso Chicken is an american invention.

I missread the post. I missed that East China is the name of the resturant.

Never have been a HUGE Mexican food guy (sorry  ), so what the heck is a chimmichanga exactly? If it isn't Mexican then I just made a fool of myself.

I just love Mexican food. Living in Japan, there's just no opportunities for that type of food. My parents sent me some Mexican ingredients not too long ago and I made tacos the other night. They were like heaven, and I felt like I was home again. Btw, I'm not even Mexican, but that's probably my favorite type of cuisine.

I guess I have to go with the fairly cliche choice and say my grandmothers mac and cheese. She uses real cheese and bakes it. Something about it is just soothing. I dunno.

Yeah, I love mexican food, too. It's flavors are just so in-your-face and festive, nothing else really compares.

I like a lot of greek food, though, because it just taste so refreshing, like a sea breeze.

Sweet and sour chicken from the take away. There's something satisfying about biting in to huge chunks of battered chicken. I sometimes skip breakfast and lunch to make me super hungry, then go get a sweet and sour take away. That's the best feeling ever.

Spaghetti tacos? I learn something new everyday :P. This will be way out of left field, but that sounds like it would get crumbs in the bed, and thats a no no for me!

this sounds simply amazing. I pride myself on being a gourmand, but its stuff like this that will always shock and comfort me.

Smoked salmon with lemon and black pepper.

Any seafood will do. I normally cannot eat food unless it is extremely hot or doused with hot sauce or cayanne pepper, but any seafood is different- the sea offers treats so sublime that they do not need to be masked with spiciness.

Asparagus and artichoke are my other two weaknesses.

Usually a big fat greasy burger...like a Baconator from Wendy's. I don't eat fast food much anymore, roughly once or twice a month. However, when I'm down I usually seek out food that is unhealthy. :P

How could I possibly pick just ONE comfort food?

Not gonna lie, when I'm depressed you will never find me without food in my hands.

I eat like crazyyyyy.

Mainly sweets though, like cake and cookies.

My brother says I eat like a man and he wouldn't be surprised to find a **** in my pants lmao.

Im the same way. I like big jumbo shrimp scampi and hot sauce, with crab legs and scallops with asparagus... just filled with cayanne pepper and seafood seasoning.... with a sirloin steak on top of that with diced onions cooked inside of it.... REALLY GOOD

If i get reeeeeeeally sad I stop eating, but the stage before that, like when I fail a test or fracture something, I'll eat anything i find. The fattier the better. I usually like chinese food, chicken especially, and the special hot chocolate my fiance makes for me when I'm sad. And the subs his mom makes. Those make my day EVERY time I have one.

awwww helllll noooooo

comfort food is, well...comforting. Chicken pot pie, mashed potaties and gravy...or a pack of red vines. Like I said, it doesnt matter.

One of my ultimate comfort foods is my mom's spoonbread tamale pie.I could eat that forever.

I guess thats my connotation of the word "comfort food"...something you wouldnt mind eating forever. I love Fritos, could eat em almost every day...but my mom's spoonbread tamale pie...that is for sure something I'd eat every day. That's comfort food

Comfort food is anything you eat that significantly raises your endorphin levels, no matter how simple or complex it may be, whether it be home prepared sauteed garlic mushrooms in white wine, or some trashy General Mills snack that tastes like arse with a sodium content that is astronomical.

Cookies and cream ice cream always makes me feel good :P A glass of chocolate milk helps too. Why? I don't know. Cookies and cream is my favourite ice cream flavor and I really love the taste of chocolate milk :P Nothing special about them, I just like it.
