You know you can all look back and think of that one movie, or a couple. For me my favorite of all time is " The Goonies " .. This movie was an automatic never forget, and makes me feel like a kid on and adventure every time. Goonies never say die ! Freakin awesome. What was yours OT ?
there are a bunch of versions and honestly I don't know which one I watched, but for some reason it was available at the local public library and its what my parents would put on when myself and my brother were annoying them and they wanted to keep us quiet for a couple of hours.

YOu mean Fantasy island ? I never heard of treasure island before. Is that in the United States or ?

It was definitely called "Treasure Island"
the problem is I can't really remember any details about the movie (aside from there being a character called "Long John Silver")
if you google "Treasure Island imdb" you will understand the issue. The original version came out in 1934 and has been remade like 10 times and I have no idea which version I watched as a kid.
As far as movies from my childhood that still hold up very well to this day goes, my favorites are Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Raiders of the Lost Ark and Toy Story.
@LexLas: My favorite childhood movie is none other then this:
Yes, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles live action movie 1990! I feel grateful that TMNT movie received such a well put together adaptation from the original cartoon series to the comics. I mean, it wasn't perfect, but look at the film adaptations of Avatar, Super Mario Bros., and the like. In this film, you saw the Turtles themselves in live action. There was no Technodrome, no Krang, no Bebop or Rocksteady, (back in 1990) but Shredder, Splinter, April, Casey, and the Foot were all present and the film made good use of them. The choreography was also quite impressive considering the costumes the actors and stuntmen had to wear. Using Jim Hanson's stuff really paid off for this film. TMNT movie had a more mature feel of it, I like how Casey basically committed murder by turning on the garbage truck after Shredder fell in, you wouldn't think that as a kid but if you re-watch the movie, there's a lot of mature/gritty content. All in all, it was a very fun experience from my childhood.
Also, I had to throw this in cause I dig the Hip-Hop music: Partners In Kryme - Turtle Power: (This is what we called Hip-Hop music, not the fake-ass shit we have today)
I was convinced we had a rat society in our rosebushes. And hey, I got away without becoming a furry. :D
That's the movie I was gonna give. I still like that movie. It has great art, voicing, story, and it's dark and gritty for a cartoon. I love it. I don't know how many times I saw it as a kid.

I own the DVD, will pick up the digital version soon as I'm slowly replacing all my DVDs with Vudu. Will have to watch it again in HD when I do so.
It's also the first book I read by myself at age 6 (Mrs. Frisby and the rats of NIMH) so it has a special place in my heart.
This was also Don Bluth's first movie after leaving Disney. I think it would have done much better if it wasn't up against ET in the theaters.

The term Furry wasn't even used back in the 90's at all. It didn't even have a name back then but of course, the internet wasn't a thing thing back in the early 90's.
Also, The Secret of Nimh, was the first time I even heard of Don Bluth, it was a good movie and I still own the VHS version lol. As for Don Bluth movie goes, my 5 favorites are:

80's, man. 1982.
Well I'll be damn.
Edit: As for American Tail, I only watch the part were Fievel goes to West. I miss out the first movie.
@with_teeth26: I remember watching a cartoon of it where they were all animals. Long John Silver was a fox XD The Legends Of Treasure Island was the name
@NakedHeadcrab: Artax! :'( 4 year old me had a bit of a crush on the Empress. Was so pissed off when she was played by someone else in the second movie...
My favorite movies ever also happen to be my fave movies from when I was a kid. They are:
Enter the Dragon-Basically the template of the modern day action flick. Too much goodness to contain in one post. Bruce Lee's choreography and action sequences...John Saxon and Jim Kelly action sequences. Bolo Yeung. Great great movie.
Superman II-Terance Stamp as General Zod is the BEST supervillain ever. Equaled only by Gene Hackman as Lex Luthor. I loved the movie back when it was released in my youth. I love the Richard Donner cut even more.
Rocky III-Clubber Lang is an awesome villain. Loved that dude. He gives a great monologue about Rocky being a wimp and how he's keeping down good fighters. Limiting opportunities. Love the training montages as well.
Honorable mention to TMNT movie and Transformers animated movie.
@LexLas: Willow, yes! Thank god someone mentioned that. "OUT OF THE WAY, peck!"
I would also like to add:
The Princess Bride
Star Wars Ep IV-VI
Neverending Story
The older James Bond movies, especially the Roger Moore ones.
Also, the station TNT would always have "theme" weeks, so like during Veterans Day or Memorial Day they'd always play war movies. Battle of the Bulge was great, so was Dirty Dozen (Lee Marvin, GTFO that guy is great!).
Perhaps I am, I got to grow up in the 1980's here in the U.S. :) , great times! Saw the original trio all on the big screen when they came out, Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi multiple times.
I actually loved action movies when I was a kid (and still do obviously), mainly because my dad watched them alot... especially Arnold Schwarzenegger movies. So movies like True Lies, the Terminators, Predator etc are all favourites of mine (and still are). Hell, even ones like Kindergarten Cop I enjoyed. Lol.
