Anyway, I think that not only rehabilitation is necessary and far better than punishment, but the basic idea should also apply to raising kids; punishing children is usually a terrible way of getting kids to do things for the right reasons. In fact, I think such a method of child-rearing is instrumental to eliminating crime, though I could be wrong.

I think a lot of state and federal programs in this country should be privatized, even social security and healthcare (and no, I don't mean we go back to insurance coverage, I'm talking about competitive pricing). As for education, I think it's a personal matter for the student. There is no "one size fits all" solution and it doesn't mean that public nor private schools would work to accommodate all students.

And I didn't enjoy The Last of the Mohicans.

What are some opinions of yours that most people disagree with or just can't accept? For example, I don't like apple pie, or pie in general but many people do. I also liked the Transformer movies, which many hated. I don't know, maybe I'm just weird. What about you?

Nobody I have ever talked to, in real ife and here on OT, seems to to think there should be a time limit on welfare unless you are truly unable to work.

I have begun to thoroughly dislike organized religion.

I'm for making sure that illegal aliens can't work in this country so they will either not come here, or return home.

I'm for English as the national language of the US.

I'm for fat people having to buy 2 seats on an airplane if they spill over into mine.

I'm for old people(above 65) having to be retested at least every 2 years for their drivers license, both written and actual exams.

I think there should be no jail or prison for drug use.

I'm against any sort of group that identifies itself by race and also anyone receiving special treatment because of race.

I hate that electronic music went mainstream.

I believe there should be new laws regarding police officers, their use of force against citizens, and their duty to serve the public. Including a law that only authorizes use of a tazer when the officer is in danger of physical harm, not just because they are pissed.

I think it should be illegal to be a member of a street gang with harsh mandatory minimun sentences.

There's more but my brain got tired:P

- Most of the basics of economy are utter crab because it lacks human understanding in terms of psychology, sociology and criminology.
- The free market concept requires complete transparency and free information for everyone
- Punishing & jailing criminals is stupidly primitive when one doesn't provide a chance of rehabilitation
- The rich nations are mostly responsible for the poor third world.
- The environment should be taken seriously
- Social sciences should be basic lectures in high school
- Skyrim is overrated
- Many old games are simply better, even when one takes nostalgia out of account
- Downloading games illegally does not equal stealing

I support the death penalty, though for the only the most rare and heinous of crimes with stipulations placed on it. I'm not for executing willy nilly - which sometimes people think i mean when i say i support death penalty.

don't have an issue with halal/kosher meat, people go hunting all over the world no one blinks an eye, billions around the world eat meat that was shot in the head or electrocuted, but slashing it's throat a big no no. Seems like a case of splitting hairs and causing a fuss as to how the animal was executed when in the end it still turns into your hamburger.

I believe society should have a semblance of order, gender roles - for example- shouldn't be black and white (not saying that no one can do the opposite), but they should still exist not because of sexism but it gives society a sense of order. I know of no other social species that breaks this, and for some reason i doubt our species will fair well without it. For some reason i think of Japan (and their population problem), even though i know that's not entirely true.

I don't always believe in the phrase "do whatever you want, as long as no one is harmed".

I support the war on drugs or the effort to keep harmful drugs at bay. (this makes me unpopular with the 'war on drugs' opponents)

Now the last two i mentioned can be connected and disconnected in a sense, and let me explain; the war on drugs has it's bad side - not gonna hide that - but i see it as a "damn if you do, damn if you don't". It's all fine and good when drugs or other such things are on the fringes of society because the number is manageable. but once you let the flood gates open - especially with physically addicitve drugs - it's going to create a greater deteriment to society as a whole. Think of alchohol and how many years did it take to get people to drink responsibly and obey the laws, and smoking is pretty much all but made illegal in the US, so many places where you can't smoke. and these drugs are more long-term health issues rather then short term ones (barring drunk driving, or working drunk).

I find anti-religion and religion bigots annoying as **** (not to mention politically and or physically dangerous) and want nothing to do with them (depending on what camp someone may find themselves in, it still applies).

Not to get into a debate *reads red letter proclamation* but I would challenge you to look more closely at what the war on drugs has actually done. What you will find is that it has done much more bad than good.

It is best for a baby to be raised by his/her mother and father.

That nepotism is leading to the ruination of the economy. People with credentials get passed over because the bosses idiot drug addled dropout nephew needs a job. They're given positions of seniority where actual decisions are required that affect the companies. This is why many companies are going bankrupt. Over priveleged 1% rich kids who haven't had to work a day in their lives living off daddy's trust funds suddenly becoming CEO's of major corporations and only care about how much coke they get and how many cars they have and don't give a damn about all their employees.
