Youtube used to be really cool and now its really lame. Anyone Agree?

I remember when youtube was brand new and when it was a small site. It was the best. There so many different people doing different things like, video games reviews, movie reviews, uploading movies, adding video games walkthroughs, giving their own thoughts or opinions on many different subjects or just funny random videos. And they were just ordinary people doing this on there spare time. Then Google bought youtube and its gone to hell since. These paid youtube partners like shane dawson, ray william, fred and others act like this is their site and we can use cause they allow it. And the whole copyright thing on youtube is getting out of control. Now only quote on quote "professional" people can review stuff like movies or video games. I've gone through multiple account and my longest one of 3 years was just deleted for no reason or explanation. I made videos just showing gameplay for games like Halo, call of duty, or tips and tricks of some maps from both games. Who else agrees that youtube sucks now?

yeah i totatlly like it before it went main stream, yuck. seriously though TC, you go their to watch the videos that interest you, not shane dawson, yeah you might see his face in the featured video section but just scoff and move on. Don't hate it because its popular

There are the quirks in it now, but I personally judge it based on the videos. And honestly, when you have good taste, you forget about Justin Bieber and Ray Williams Johnson and their dumb videos ayway. ibashedudown

Only thing I hate now is how they will bend to corporations over the slightest copy right issue.

Like most recently COD BO leaks, and activision having them removed in a matter of minutes.

YouTube isn't so bad, just have an idea of what you're looking for. You can easily avoid most of the stupid videos.

I like youtube. I like all the different sketches, rants, troll rants, rants to be funny, ball shots, free running, in your face madness of it all. My favorite part is that I can subscribe to any I like and see new videos that come out. I'm still waiting for WingsofRedemption to make another beast mode engaged. His southern accent and his demeaning comments have me rolling on the floor every time.

Alot of videos can no longer be found on youtube due to "copyright claims". Even if these claims are bogus.

Take the "downfall" videos. These do not violate copyright law as they are parody yet youtube still took them down.

I again disagree. I can't find alot of stuff on Youtube anymore. Unless all you do is use youtube to view e-celebs posting vlogs.

I had this conversation with a friend earlier today, and I agree with the TC's general idea.
It's an amazingly powerful tool, but it seems so marketing based now that it's lost something.

Not to mention that ever since a few months ago it seems deathly slow during any regular hours.
Their servers are seriously sucking it up for anyone in my area for some reason.

I've recently started browsing things on Vimeo lately. A lot of unique creative stuff on there.

It's not lame if you know what you're looking for.

I used to check the top rated videos for each day however; now I don't bother as it seems what most people like is total garbage (which didn't used to be the case a year or two back.) Basically, the popular part of Youtube sucks; I just ignore it now.

The only thing that really annoys me is videos constantly getting taken down for "copyright" reasons or other reasons.

Ther layout isn't as good as it used to be in some ways, but I'm still fine with Youtube.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't these guys start out as average, ordinary people making videos before they became YT partners? The only reason they're paid is because they got popular enough to warrant it.

Youtube used to be less annoying. Now it has BS ads and the same comments on every video.
