Youtube's layout is sort of annoying....As for content, I don't really look at videos made by users. I really only use youtube for looking up music or movie trailers.
I agree that it was better when it was by the people with limited government and corporate interaction. Before copyright removals, ads, the most watched videos weren't just from what yahoo posted or from the same 5 users, etc.
It's still a cool place to kill time, and there are some interesting videos made by very intelligent people. But the community part of it is really lacking, and there are many glitches and bugs that still haven't been fixed.
I still find it pretty useful and haven't really dealt with many problems with it. Most of the albums I look up there to test before buying have been easy to find, and few videos have been taken down from the users I've subscribed to.
Since I don't use youtube that much for the lulz. I use to watch fighting games matches. Arcana heart 3, KOF 13, SSFIV, BB CS it comes in handy. The music I listen too is still there. So eh, everything is fine.
It has a few minor annoyances but for the most part it's made several changes for the better (wider-sized videos, more accurate volume control, etc.). How else would I have gotten to 917 favorited videos?
For the avarge user they might not care. Now for uploaders it sucks bad, you can get your video deleted for the stupidest things, if youtube feels like it they delete it and give the BS copyright excuse. This is what happens when services like this get too popular, they basically **** over the little people, the ones who made them popular in the first place.
It's not lame if you don't get suckered into all the blatantly stupid crap they put up there ever 3 hours. It's a good distraction if you know where to look.
It's literally pretty much the same exact thing only more advertisements. This is just another case of something becoming really popular and hating on it.

Considering the fact they banned a couple of my AMVs that I made for copyright reasons, yes. If it's a non-profit and is for purely entertainment purposes why should they care?
I predict in 5 years youtube will ban everything that isn't homemade or isn't uploaded by a paid partner. It's just their way of attempting to gain more profits.
The DMCA act messes it up pretty badly. Especially in the religious debate. Christian groups seem to constantly issue false DMCAs against atheists when they lose a debate, (which is always, without exception) and their seems to be little if any consequences for them from it. Just recently the Prestonwood Christian Academy/Baptist Church issued a flurry of DMCA claims on any video that featured any excerpts from the debate between Christopher Hitchens and William Demski, because it was embarrassing for them how utterly Demski failed, utilizing humiliating numbers of logical fallacies, lying, and slandering Hitchens. All these videos use clips for commentary, and fall under fair use. Prestonwood Christian Academy, lying..... for the lord!
It's funny how people love to hate Youtube and say "It's just not how it used to be", yet most of those people still rely on the site heavily for their day-to-day video needs.

I can't speak for all videos, but what I see on the videos I watch are usually comments like:
something said in the video used to make a lame ass joke about the number of dislikes, something about justin bieber and the number of dislikes, something about justin bieber being compared to the song, people sick of hearing jokes about the number of dislikes, people sick of hearing about bieber, and your average, weak ass trolls.
The comments section pretty much represents the stupidity of the world...:lol:

it's a content driven site..if the videos suck it sucks....if they are cool it's cool....seems okay enough to me...I never post on youtube...only upload my vids to it...
