Unless you were in the military. You can kill infection zombies with guns. And we always have nukes just in case. By the way, can anybody inform me if 28 Weeks Later was any good?

It's decent, it has like three awesome parts, but not the greatest camera work and actors(lots of throwaways)

Yeah the movie was great, but the English kids being generally retarded throughout the entire movie takes away from it. Also, the camera work during the most awesome part really gets to you after a while.

My favorite Zombie movies are:

All 3 of the Resident Evil Films

Dawn of the Dead

28 days/weeks later.

I can't remember the other one I liked.

Yeah the camera durng the zombie atack scenes have a rate of like 5 per second change so it gets very confusing and sickening to watch, and the other movie your talking about is Land of the Dead

You're right about 28 weeks later. But no, it wasnt land of dead, I completely forget the damned name, but it was awesome.

It would be so easy. I would load up a truck with all of my ammunition & banoleers and my guns then throw on my load bearing equipment. load up on shotgun & rifle shells and magazines.

pack my S&W .357 snub nose then leftshoulder my S&W.44 Magnum then rightshoulder my .357 Colt. Holster my Sig 226, Kimber 1911, Springfield 1911 & Colt 1991 and maybe my Beretta 92. Keep my Beretta 84 as a last resort. During a zombis scenario you can never have too many backup weapons.

Sling My Springfield M1A and sling my remington 870 on the left shoulder with a crossover sling. Finally two scavards on the back of my LBE or vestvest. Left Scavard would have my Kimber .300 Magnum and the right would have my mossberg 500.

Then I could keep my other long gun on gun rack in me van with the ammuniton cans on the floor and bandoleers hanging. That way I could quickly reamr or switch guns or get a new one. Such as me M1 Carbine or AR-15 or coach gun.

The best vehcle would be something with a dozer blade and treads. Like bull dozer. I would have to aquire one of those. Finally hit the hardware stores, pharmacys, gas stations and grocery stores to get supplies to make bombs.

Most imortant secure High ground or a safe place to operate from.

Ahh I see. We think alike my friend.

I have to say, a CIRAS, a Remington 870 Express, AR-15 in the M4 configuration, with a cranestock and I would be set. Of course, my CIRAS holds 8 M4 mags, a 1 liter of water, a medkit, and a good amount of shot shells. I have to say, I think I would be alright if I had all of that, plus an F-150.

Wow i think you guys are thinking too macho. Ever heard of plenty of guns but no bullets? I say keep two pistols, one rifle, one shotgun and keep a ton of ammo. you are killing everyone that got infected remember?

I only said I would carry 2 guns and wear this:

(pic)

yeah my bad for you, but it has been proven the best armor for the undead is thick, loose leather in a full body suit is absolute best(preferably with a neck guard!)

Yeah, exactly right about that, I wear a shemagh with the CIRAS. That is a picture of the one I own btw. Anyway, my main reason for wearing that thing is to carry ammo and supplies, not protection. That is what the guns are for.

Yeah, I would not mind wearing some type of leather clothing under my CIRAS. The neck guard with my Shemagh over it is a must though.

I know no one really cares but the best guns I would even have a chance to get are:

Glock 17 (Used by the police, I have a police station near my house)

Heckler& Koch MP5 (Used by the police and the army. The police used to use Shotguns, but they were replaced by the MP5, but there are still a few in use)

Browning HP Variation:FN HP-DA (Used by the army)

Walther P99 (Army)

RK62 (Used by the army, basically, an updated and improved AK)

The military uses more weapons of course, but those are the most common ones.

The local gunshop also has some hunting rifles, low caliber pistols and an old russian M1910 Maxim heavy machine gun (Not for sale).. Good luck finding ammunition to that one though :P

Oh and dont call me gun fanatic or anything.. I was in the army reserve so they just teach the names of the weapons you are most likely to use and how they work (In war of course.. Not in.. You know.. Zombie invasion :P )

yeah my bad for you, but it has been proven the best armor for the undead is thick, loose leather in a full body suit is absolute best(preferably with a neck guard!)

I have plenty of Bullet for all of those guns.

S&W model 19 is .38/357 Magnum

S&W 629 is a .44 Magnum.

Colt KK is a .357 Magnum

Beretta 92 is a 9mm Luger

Springfield 1911 is a .45 AutoColt

Kimber 1911 is a .45 Auto Colt

Colt 1991 is a .38 Auto Colt

So that's onlyfive different types of ammo. I don't have a billion magazines for one gun. I have various magaizne and speed loadrs for various guns.

The shotguns both use 12 gauge and that leaves two type of rifle ammo. The .300 has a an integrated magazine. it's loaded cartridge by cartridge or by stripper clip.

The only heavy pistols in the entire configurationis the Colt KK & the S&W 629. 1911s are light and so is the Beretta 92 and Sig 226.

I'm large in stature and have a lot of upper bpdy strength a strong back. Carrying all of that would be now problem since I wouldn't be carrying radio equipment or a ruck with 200+ LBS of gear fastened to it.

Both the Remignton 870 & mossberg 500 are light.

This way if one gun breaks or fails it won't matter becuase you have plenty of working guns. The real gun that is of any signifigant weaight is the M-14 or AR-15. And Mine is 6.8mm. not .223. My Ruger Mini-14 is .223, but I just don't care for the Ruger Mini-14.

What is a gun when you don't have the right ammunition for it or it malfunctions? There is no time repair it and ammunition is useless without the correct gun.

1). Trip to local gun store. :P Grab all I can carry of similar calibers and gauges, plus plenty of ammo.

2). Trip to grocery/retail stores: non-perishable food, water, emergency supplies of all kinds.

3). Return to apartment, load up car, get the hell out of Dodge and head towards the country.

The people posting long lists of weapons that they would bring with them will get killed. You can limit whatweapons you need to:

one .22 pistol andone rifle that shares .22 ammo.

That still sounds like too many guns, imo. I can understand a little variety and the need for backups, but a couple pistols, a good long-range scoped rifle, and maybe a smaller automatic rifle or shotgun would serve your purposes. Choose firearms that are durable, and you won't need five backups. However, I can understand all the extra hardware if you planned to outfit any surviviors you find. ;)

You have to be a heck of a shot to do any good with a .22 against anything larger than small game.

.22 rifles are so simple to shoot and hit something that it's laughable, even without a scope. I've never shot a .22 pistol, but up close I imagine that it would be as easy as shooting any other pistol with any other type of ammo. I say .22 ammo because it's small, and if you can share ammo between your 2 weapons then all the better. Save the space for other necessities such as food and medicine.

If you're gonna use a .22 use a .22 Magnum. .22 offten get's lodge in the bone. So many times it won't even puncture a person's skull unless you put the gun right to their head.

Are you crazy?Obviously you have never shot a large living thing before.Stoping power is the key. You wanna pu the biggest whole in the thing as you possibly can. a 9mm is better than nothing, but a .38 .357 Magnum or .45 auto will blow a huge hole in it's had. I mean blow large chunck out of the head. Like a mellon. A .44 Magnum is just overkill. You hit a person in the head with that and their might not be much head left.

A high powered rifle round will definitly take chunks of flesh out of a body. Especially at close range.

You need knock down power. A .22 doesn't have that. But A high powered of large slug does. I wouldn't be loading the shotgun with Buckshot, because I don't wan't minimal damage. I want maximum damage. So I would be loading my shotguns with leadslugs. Cause if I miss the head at least it will knock it down when it hits the body.

At least with a 9mm you know you can put a chunck it's head and slow it down a bit, but a .22 is light shooting it with nothing.

Fine, 9mm, not .22. But to critisize your own list, you should definiately limit it to just 2 weapons with 1 type of ammo... you will get killed if you chug too much in the way of weaponry around. There is a whole section about this in the Zombie Survival Guide.

Edit: I would like to point out however that the whole point of carrying a .22 (specifically) is for a case when you can simply put the gun to a zombie's head and pull the trigger in a close combat situation. Though if you are smart and carefull, it's likely that you will never be in that situation.

Pistols suck. I'll take a machete, a bike, clothe myself preperly, put on a toque, pack my backpack with outdoor living and food supplies, and take off up north. My uncle has a cabin in some lake in Northern Ontario(I'd of course, get the actual location and a map before leaving), and from the pictures, it'd be pretty easy to defend.

It'd take me about 5-10 minutes to get out of my house. With the majority of people likely heading out of my town, towards the local air base, or to the hospital/police dept/island county, I doubt I'd meet much zombie resistance if they were in my area.

My friends and I, with our combined materials/weapons/supplies, would probably do pretty well. Not that we'd go looking for fights. We'd hightail it out of the "golden horseshoe" to where it's safer and there are likely less zombies to worry about; avoiding major roads, highways, and only rarely stopping at small towns to get supplies if we can.

Small pistols, from what I recall, wouldn't work too well. Large ones would be able to do significant damage, but would be so loud it's likely more trouble to wield than anything.

Now, obviously, if you're in a city and you're surrounded by zombies it won't make a difference how noisy it is, so it's a case by case basis.

Basically, you want a weapon that can pierce the skull and destroy the brain. It shouldn't weigh you down, and it should be accurate so you don't lug extra ammo around for nothing. Rifles work well in that way, as you can get scopes and silencers for some models. They aren't good for short range, but that's when you should be using a martial weapon, anyways.

I can carry it. A smaller person may have trouble carrying it, but they would have to figure out what works for them. I wouldn't be able to simply combine the ammunition with my gun in a menu. I would eventually run out of speed loader and full magazine. Like I would really have time to reload my pistol mags and speedloader during a shootout. I would rather holster one gun and draw another one I have no more load ed magazine for it.

If I had to limit what I would carry I would carryan 1873 Carbine chambered for .44 Magnum. A Smith Model 29 which is a .44 Magnum, that would be in a shoulde holster. Then a 1911 in a thigh holster. Finally the 870 18"on a crossover sling and the Mossberg 500 in a backscavard. The shotguns shells are what's heavy. The mossberg 500 is as light as a toy.

I rather just switch over to another gun during the moment and reload them all later but snice you insist it must be done the hard way it will be done the hard way.

I'd get a yatch, supplies for 3 months, a few weapons, and sail off to an Island in the Bahamas or something where no one lives.

This is the best thing to do, if you have the resources available, and maybe more than 3 months, because you want to take some people with you to watch your back/spend time with.

Go to a SMALL island with absolutlety noone on it. I always wonered how those zombies got on the island, maybe some one got bit and survived long enough to get on the island and infect the others.

Elraptor

Run to the store for a generator, gas, snacks, a big TV and lots of video games.

Stand by the exit ramp waving my arms hoping to hitch a ride with Elraptor.

Is that really what you would want to do? Live alone, desolate for miles? What if the zombies could swim?

First everyone would need to do is establish havens then fortify & reinforce them. Use the construction vehicles to run the zombies over. Just smash em. Use the tanks and APCs as well. Just smash the zombies. build a moat and linethe bottom withpungie sticksand concertina wire then build a trash compactor into the moat. They fall in they get stuck and you just squich with the compactor.

I'm sure the companys that make TNT and other high explosives would be able to supply everyone with more than enough exposive and mines.

Best case scenario is right, but you want to take others with you, i doubt TNT would give people free dynamite sticks, some people are dumb and would not use it right(ie is this a candle?)

It is in humans nature to do errors and mistakes.. Those havens could easily become buffet for the zombies, not to mention how hard it would to get 'em up and running during the panic.

I'd personally play it safe and get in a boat and head for south.

Not if you post garrisons on the exits and entrances and have some overwatch in some towersor elevations with a broad view.

As for the dynamite.. at that point who gives a **** It's either let the zombies over run or not give anywone dynamite because they might blow themselves up. Who cares? There would be accidents just like with hand grenades and guns. It won't be 100% safe. That's why it would be dangerous. If **** didn't happen they wouldn't consider it dangerous.

Fighting zombies would be like fighting cannibalistic retards. If the movies realistic and logical there would be no plot device and it would just look stupid.

How do zombie movies start? Usually like... *What if everyone was suddenly a zombie and the few left over people didn't forsee this so they were traped like ZOH MY GODS!!* If zombie movies weren't based on *What if* plot they wouldn't make any sense. That's why ALL logic is removed. There is timeline it's just *ZUH!! What if?!*

Actually, best thing to do is not get an economic car but a big, tough truck than can run over hoards of zombies like a ford 450 and fill up a bunch of barrels with gas and load them in the back of the truck and store it at a fortified position. Preferebly an upper level of a mall or school parking structure where you can easily barracade and use the roof for area surveillence and defense would make a great HQ and its close to any item you need from the mall.

Montaya

I jsut realized I never posted where to go...... Even though It seems Like a good choice, no mall has an air tight security room with a helipad on top, so the best place to go would be A HOSPITAL! Mulitple floors, food, water, generator, helipad(yeah like yuor gonna use it), showers, medicine, easy lock/barricade doors/windows, many exits jic. Plus people would flock there too..... And the whole truck thing A truck would only be used to haul around supplies and ever seen a truck hit a deer? think about if it hit 7 deer, they dont last too long..... not hoardes of zombies long thats for sure...but, if you follow my advice, you may never be around zombies in the first place to worry about them.

Well a Ford 450 aint no average truck, its super heavy and with its larger grill it could easily run over bipedal zombies, its like dominoes, as long as the hoarde isnt too thick; hella of a lot better than a little car. I dont know about a Hospital, it has to many access points, and unless you cant find out how to barracade the stairs then your in trouble.

It apears to me that you have never read the Zombie survial Guide. Thoses ideas would get you killed faster. A truck is terrible because of its bad gas milage, and hitt a zombie into you windsheild will still break it and wont kill the zombie. Secondly a hospital is the worst place to go besides a police station. Before a person turns into a zombie they have to "die" aka walking dead. Dead people a always sent to hospitals before morges and there fore you'd have zombies shambling around inside the hospital before you even secured it.

Grab the few guns and ammo that're in my house, make it to a town that's not infected (yet) and steal a bunch of guns and food and survival gear, stay low until I could work out a way to get to either the middle of no where (e.g. The Rockies or the middle of Kansas) and gather information. Eventually I'd try to make it to whatever island or continent hadn't been invaded. Â
