Look at that big ass list. What ever happened to finished games being released?
obenns
It's a bad thing that they're tweaking the game after release?
Absolutely. You should be able to buy a game, knowing it is a 100%, full, complete product. They didn't do a significant enough of testing, the evidence is clear with this mile long list! Heavens, you don't go into a clothes shop and buy half a shirt! I don't remember anyone complaining about balance changes after release in games like SC2. Seems like some developers or genres don't get the same standards, but hey that's just me.[QUOTE="Phoenix534"][QUOTE="obenns"]

Heavens, you don't go into a clothes shop and buy half a shirt!Deadlines and consumer demand happens. They make a date and hope to hit it. Because publishers make them do it. Then the fans catch wind of it and demand it on that date perfectly finished. When its not fully finished they have to release anyway and patch later. Otherwise gamers B***h and moan anyway because of it being postponed. So it's lose lose. I for one am glad they patch after release and will continue fixing and tweaking.
Comprehensive testing on such a large game takes a great deal of time and money, that nowadays isn't always provided by publishers. Publishers don't always allow extra time on games as they want them released at a specific time to maximise profits. The developers were clearly (and still are) trying to address every problem in this game, so be thankful for that. Don't forget that games released more than 10 years ago also had bugs in them on release, some practically game-breaking bugs that couldn't be fixed because the ability to patch games wasn't around, leaving you with a broken game that could never be fixed. Also, my copy of Battlefield 3 doesn't actually work anymore. After the last patch the game crashes after 10 seconds of play, leaving me with a broken game. But I'm not complaining to much, I'm not spamming their message boards (which a lot of people are doing over stupid things like nerfed weapons), I'm not uninstalling my game, or sending death threats, I'm just being patient and hoping that the next patch fixes what is an isolated issue. If nothing results with the next patch then I will go from there, maybe send an email about my problem to see what they can do. So if you think that you have problems and want to get all pissy about it, maybe think about my experience with BF3.Twisted14
Very good post. Try telling this to the modern gamer. They are all take take take these days demanding higher quality. Nothing wrong with that but to complain so much on the dev is just juvenile. Things aren't fixed in such a small space of time. Maybe if its PC only it would but they have 3 platforms to do and the consoles have to go through lots of procedures before having the patch admitted for the public

I'd rather have a game postponed weeks, months, and have it working better than what the unfinished state of the game would have been. Patches after release don't always fix things. Some patches tweak the game and make them worse. I think developers just need to work on polishing their game more, whether they can or cannot meet their deadlines, and this includes working on patching games after release. Because if they don't, then the PC version will always feel like an afterthought. For the record, not all of us PC gamers b**** and whine. Some of us make valid complaints and we should get some answers on fixes. We are the consumer after all. Without us, these companies can't stay afloat.[QUOTE="seanmcloughlin"][QUOTE="obenns"] Absolutely. You should be able to buy a game, knowing it is a 100%, full, complete product. Im sure they didn't wanna set a date and wanted to release when they were good and ready but try doing that with someone like EA at your back. They wanted it out the door no matter what ahead of MW3 to get some sales in and try do damage. In the end it bit them in the ass. I also want a game postponed over patches but not everyone does and they are impatient. They demand it at a certain time and if it doesn't arrive they lose interest.
You have every right to complain about problems but just remember they could have just made the game release it and never done anything after. It is not their obligation to continue work on it after its released. It's a fan service. If you do a project at college/work you don't get to correct mistakes after its submitted. Not the same thing but the same base principle.
Removing all bugs in a game is close to impossible. And I find it very ironic that you have a New Vegas-sig.We have different opinions then on what a "complete game" is. For me, a complete game is not only one that is functional and operational. It is also tried and tested numerous times to improve the users experience and remove ALL bugs. A bugged game is not a complete game, as buggy means it is not fully operational.

So, is the update releasing on Dec 6th or Dec 13th?
Lox_Cropek
Its a two pronged thing. They will put them all together so you download once on the 6th as PS3 users get Karkand on the 7th. So they will do everything together. So when its time for PC players to get Karkand you won't have to download again. So it will be patched on the 6th. A 2 gig download wouldn't just be a patch

Heavens, you don't go into a clothes shop and buy half a shirt! Are you really comparing mass manufactured tailoring to a complete science with teams of 100s that have to work well together on logic/problem solving based creations? Older games were just less work period. Your naive to think "100%" out of the box including balance is possible.sounds like a mostly good list. lol apparently they are already rethinking the IRNV nerf, saying its next to useless in tunnels like metro. I guess it will get this huge nerf and later a slight buff.nutcrackr
I don't understand why they can't make it like it was indoors but nerf it a lot when outside. Same with the flashlight, have it useless outside in the light but great indoors in the dark. Is it impossible to do or something? Its like its too much work for them to make it adaptive instead of having it as a constant setting. Real life isn't like that

I'm downloading the patch at the moment, and it's nearly 4GB. I assume this includes the map pack? (It would bloody well want to, for the size)C_Rule
Holy crap. So its 2 for the patch and and 2 for the maps?

CuRleBeen playing after the update and one thing I love is the new chat system. It's smaller, over to the left and you don't need to say something to see something you missed (having to type a '.' to see if anybody spoke to you).
Will deff be getting BtK when it comes out!

They fixed the hit detection? Are you serious?:oI won't say too much praise now because it could have been just good rounds for me. But I had 4 games and hit detection was spot on for me. but like i said it might have been luck. I don't want to jynx it :P

Play more games, lol.I told people in a round that the tower collapses and they all said it didn't and called me a nut case and a noob and laughed. Then it fell and they were all apologising to me it was hilarious
THE TOWER NOW COLLAPSES IN CASPIAN :o
Terrified the **** out of me
seanmcloughlin
Haha yeah its pretty sweet. Got caught out by it though.
Stood there watching it fall and I'm guessing sorta the area of effect of it killed me. Lol :)
EDIT: Is it scripted? Just tried to take it out with a ton of C4 and nothing happened.

Unforyunately I think it is :(
I ploughed into it with a tank hitting all the cable holds and the tower itself and nothing happened. Then it just fell. That sucks then, far less interesting.

It is. When the music kicks in that tells you the game's about to end, that is when the tower falls.
You can't make it fall yourself, unfortunately.

Well then that sucks.
It would be cool to take down all those annoying antenna snipers by dropping the whole thing and maybe getting a few kills on the ground too. Or at least half way through the round have it fall and deform and change the landscape. Not at the very end when its pointless
 I think I might come back. I'll give it another shot later tonight. If all is well I will buy a 40 man Conquest server :D
Something went wrong. Well I can see that...
Masculus
havent played much but I think its better now.. hopefully we'll get more updates which improve the game even further..
Dam i never used the IRNV scope for long range shots as i have only been using assualt and engineer class, i'd just use it in close quarters with lots of rubble and smoke and also when ever i was crossing a large open area to make sure there are no snipers hiding in the bushes, its not like it helps with long range shots as its only 1x magnification.
AT mines, what the hell i know on some servers with 500+ starting tickets the mines can start to pile up abit but lots of people still nade them for the bonuses, thats stupid making them exlode after the player has died for 20secs, its supposed to be realistic, if some dumb*ss in a tank cant take a second to glance down infront of him to see if theres any mines then his team doenst deserve to have such a noob at the wheel of a game changing vehicle.
AT mines stick out like an american in china and if your stupid enough to roll over them then you dont deserve to be driving.
Also why reduce the damage done to infantry by AA guns, sure i can why tanks but in real life if someone in an AA gun fires a burst of rounds at you its going to rip your limbs off, their perfectly balanced for damage against infantry all you need to do is reduce their armour but not their damage, i'm pretty sure that dual 30mm cannons of a Tunguska killing an infantry soldier almost instantly is pretty dam true to life.
One of the only good gun tweaks is the AN-94 tweak as it will be perfect gun now.
