My 8800 ultra's clocks are at 674/1783/1148
8800 GT can't compete with that

Your ULTRA will outperform the GT by around 20-30%, yet it costed you 400% more.
YOU'RE WINNER!!!
Well it will be worth it in the end.

Well it will be worth it in the end.
Also why wait for the 8800 GT when you can get the better cards GTX/Ultra?

I wouldn't wait for the 8800GT (G92), I'll wait for the G90 that will beat the crap out of the GTX/Ultra.

Dude, did you just added "Well it will be worth it in the end." to Wesker´s reply, so you would be "right"?!?
Who cares anyway... I´m just going to wait for my G90
Wow Ultraare priced over 600 euros... thats like 850 USD.
You're just trying to justify your buy
Its alright, my 2x512mb 8800gt in SLI will be as much as your 1 8800Ultra
- 768mb 8800Ultra - $600usd
- 256mb 8800GT - $200usd (-$400usd)
- 2x 256mb 8800GT - $400usd(-$200usd)
- 512mb 8800GT - $250usd (-$350usd)
- 2x 512mb 8800GT - $500usd(-$100usd)
Hmmmmmm I think when I SLI up 2 x 512mb eVGA 8800gt's for $100 less then your card, I will be asking...Why would someone buy an Ultra or GTX when you can have better performance for less cash??? 9mmSpliff
Less heat, and more space

GT should consume roughly 120w at load. Two of them are 240w, while one stock ULTRA consumes around 200w at load. 40w difference spread out across two cards isn't something you can brag about.
Also, 8800 GT's use single slot coolers, so technically, they use the same space as your single ULTRA.
I don't even know where you got your argument from. The ULTRA is in totally different price bracket compared to the GT, it's like comparing an 7900 GS to a 7900 GTX. You can't compare the two.
"My ULTRA outperforms the 8800 GT!!!"
No s***, sherlock, but did you know that two GT's in SLI outperform your ULTRA and costs less?
Also, don't mess with my original post by misquoting me.

I would have done that, But I didin't know how powerful the GT was going to be (I thought it would be placed behind the GTS). oh well.

Well you can purchase 2 8800GT's and SLI them which will more than likely outperform your 8800 Ultra :)This kid's 14 years old or something, his parents bought him the Ultra. This topic should be locked, he's just a troll.Yea while you go waste those extra 600 bucks on an ULTRA!!!!! I will get me an 8800GT and use the rest of the money...for rent..and food...and gas
-_-

LOL man this topic is funny!
So... basically the OP is trying to say that his $800+ card outperforms a $250 card? Man can you believe that!? That's incredible!! That's unheard of!
Well have fun with your card that will be only marginally better than the 8800GT while I can buy an 8800GT and used that extra $550+ for games, upgrades, etc. lolz
i dont believe the 8800gt will perform as well as you all think it will... i would definitely wait for more trustworthy reviews...broseybroseAnother dis-believer. Surprisingly, they all are 8800GTX owners.

Surprisingly, they all are 8800GTX owners. First they bash the 8600's since they on't perform nowhere near the GTX,now they bash the 8800GT,they're just a bunch of ignorant snobs who look do on people who have hardware that doesn't perform as well as theirs, thus they fail.
dont lump me in with anyone. i dont bash anything... i even own an 8600gts
and believe me or not, nvidia themselves said the 8800gt was a midrange solution, to make up for the gap beween 8600gts and 8800gts... so why would it outperform the 8800gts?!?
also, dont you find it a little strange that these are the ONLY benches were seeing? and look at how badly the 1GB 2900XT performs! it just seems fabricated to stir up hype. ive seen these benches for over a week. where are the other reviews from sites that are known to be dependable?
im sure itll be a great card, but im also PRETTY SURE those benches are BS.
Actually when you think about it,pretty much any review site is crap, all were biased at one time or another (And possibly still are) the graphs are all different despite the fact that various sites use the same test setups and drivers and patches, you should just buy the component,if you like it,keep it,if you hate it,return it,simple as that,IMO :)dont lump me in with anyone. i dont bash anything... i even own an 8600gts

Well I'm pretty sure that when Nvidia said (if Nvidia ever really even said something) that this card is a midranged card then they were right in saying so. Only because the current 8800GTS are EOL and the 8800GT will be replacing them. Now when the NEW 8800GTS 640mb comes out then that one will be either better than the GTX or sit in between the 8800GT and GTX. Yeah sure these are just benchies but also look at the specs of the card...:
8800GT Goodness :)

i love how he spazes out as soon as his rig is under threat of being obsolete
If that was the worst comparison you've ever seen, you're new to these forums.that was the worst comparison ever not even the same make thats like comparing atrident gpu to nvidia
as for 8800gt beating gtx in ur bloody dreams look at the spec
IQT786
For a more "accurate" comparison, your 1998 Honda Accord sucks compared to my 1997 NSX-S.
I really have no idea why Nvida would do this.. If the reviews of the 8800GT are true, then all of their Ultras and GTXs will not sell, and will have to drop in price.does it make senseto anyone?Mr_NoName111
The GTX was released a year ago! It is only a matter of time before it becomes obsolete just like everyother top-of-the-line card in the past.
