Honestly, BF4 seems like a expansion to BF3. I probably won't pick it up for a long time.

I just wish that Dice and EA would put a limit on the the DLC palooza that BF3 had. How is it fair that DLC content by itself (combined) includes more weapons/maps than the vanilla version? It even has a new game mode. This is what really pissed me off when I bought the so called, 'Standard Edition'. What bullshit. If they are going to do the same with BF4, than the standard version should be a demo by itself.

Just wait, the current Pre-order edition of BF4 will be botched once again by another DLC-fest compilation pack by the end of its lifespan.

I really don't understand why do they release so many maps, it's better to have 3 good maps than 10 copy and paste scenarios.

Very few of them were good anyway. IMO the only good expansion maps were some of the AM and EG ones. I personally loved the idea of having DLC sold like an expansion pack, but thats just me.

Yup I agree. Having so many maps segregated so many players. Making some really good maps dead because the players moved onto the "new maps" in which some weren't even good. Gotta admit that some players just move on to the newest thing which is pretty lame.

Come on man, i'm not a noob. I've been doing that. :P Still a lot of empty servers few, full 64 maps, and few 64 maps that run at all parts of the day considering this game sold millions on PC. I think you're just escaping the fact that this game is really spread out. There's a ton of maps and has no focus on like say the top 5 best maps. There's no identity.

Apparently players can't join BF3 servers if there are DLCs in rotation and they don't have the DLC So even if the server is currently running Caspian, you need all the maps they have in rotation. Lot of server admins want this changed, so players will join and play until a DLC map comes up and they get booted.

Yup this. This is exactly what I meant when they released all these DLC maps and messed up everything. It's either you join the bandwagon or else you are stuck playing some other rotation or just vanilla altogether. I can't blame people who do not want to fork over $15 for an expansion map pack, nor can I blame them for not wanting to pay the $30-60 for premium edition. Like I said, I'd rather DICE this time make 5-10 incredible maps that players will play from day one into the second year. All these maps, some of them, very uninspiring, spread the player population too thin.

I don't expect they will change the formula this time. China Rising is the preorder DLC pack, like Back 2 Karkand. Second Assault is the first pack, timed exclusive on Xbone. Probably see 3 more packs after that with 4 maps and maybe vehicles, weapons etc. The first few weeks after DLC launch there are usually plenty of servers around. If they allow anybody to join servers with DLCs in rotation then it would be a lot better.

When I ordered a few games the other days I was thinking of finally getting BF3, until I saw all the DLC's then changed my mind.

I don't know why they do it, release a premium priced game, and expect people to keep forking out cash and still expect the playerbase not to drop.

Or maybe that's the whole idea? Spread the playerbase thin as possible, and not have to worry about people sticking to the previous game like with the case of CounterStrike. They know the playerbase would rather flock to the new game.

I dont like being charged for each small component. I see very little point in paying to add a small portion to my game or buying map packs, I buy them all at once. The only DLC I have ever bought has either been part of a complete Steam sale of a game, or Bf3 Premium.

I see, but premium is like paying more than the price of a good expansion for a bunch of small components.

Compared to similar offerings from other games, Premium was well worth the $40 I paid for it. The amount of content they add is pretty amazing. That being said Im probably not getting BF4 anytime near release, if ever.

Why do people keep asking? It was a stupid thread on 4 chan that everybody has now requested as a mode. It wouldn't fit within the game at all and would just end up feeling unfinished and tacky rather than a fun addition.

That seamode, skyscraper collapsing, tablet commander, if it works like it should it would be just awesome, but seems like if they're doing the same thing like in bf3, they're advertising small visual intense moments from the lame campaign mode, introducing new debris models and effects, but the multiplayer is just the same than in 3.

Plus lets be honest, BF could be fun if we had the chance to fight dinosaurs with jets and tanks and such, but if anything Far Cry 3 and Blood Dragon have proven that there are much cooler ways to fight dinosaurs.

A Far Cry 3 style game where we're let loose on the Jurassic Park island, some vehicles, and tons of weapons for instance. Hell, Blood Dragon added Blood Dragons, so if anything we should bug the FC people for dinosaur DLC.

It will probably be more optimized by the time of release, so you might still be able to get a 30 fps min.

It's alpha, so I wouldn't get too concerned about performance just yet.

Heh, and they said that 4GB was overkill. I bet you're feeling smug.

I'm glad I only bought one GTX 670 (2GB). Now, I will have a great excuse to upgrade. :D

You'll probably be able to do Medium settings. Sure, there will be a lot more going on, bigger scale maps, more destruction. Sh!t. You're right.. time to upgrade lol. Jk. DICE will optimize it like crazy and you'll be running good I'm sure. But an upgrade wouldn't hurt.

I wish those were around when i got my 570. Though my 570 is OC'd to 580 specs out of the box, so its still quite speedy
