Ok, this is what worked for me... I placed placed the client folder in the downloads folder, through the Origin program, I went to the Beta page, went through the install prompts, and it installed the game from my client folder, I did not have to re-download the game.

Okay so I have been playing the game for several hours and so far apart from having connection issues once in the game I experience only minor glitches that aren't too big of a issue... the problem is that I don't know if its just a poor map but it just doesn't feel like battlefield. It makes no sense as to why they even created this map okay maybe it was to provide variety but to be honest as a BF2 player the only variety I want is in locations and layouts of terrain. I think I may have let the hype built up too much for the game... But its Battlefield the name instantly gives me goosebumps but after playing this while its not in anyway BAD... its a good, but good wasn't what I needed from the beta. It makes no sense that the beta was a small map with absolutely no vehicles. I'll wait till I get my hands on the full copy of the game before I put my stamp on it but again so far its really nothing special... I honestly blame the map. This map in no way resembles what a battlefield experience is in my eyes.

Got the email from EA saying I could access the beta 6 hours ago, but trying to login it kept rejecting me saying account not permitted to login for the beta. Now launched Origin again and the beta is available to select from the store front - got it downloading now

I wonder how the consolites are going with getting hold of the beta.C_Rule

I hate to say it, but unfortunately my PS3 just works, and its downloaded and been playing for hours.

Why did EA have to use Origin, even just a webpage loader would have been easier.

What didn't you like?AR-15

Everything, pretty much.

For starters, the graphics actually made me LOL when the match first started. For a second I thought it might be some kind of a goof, and that the "real" graphics would soon kick in with a "haha, we had you going there for a minute, didn't we" type of message to follow. It truly looks like crap.

As far as everything else goes, it felt exactly like Bad Company 2 to me, and I don't like Bad Company 2. If you like BC2, I'm guessing that you will like BF3.

I was hoping that this game would be different enough (and better than) Bad Company 2, but it feels like just more of the same to me, and more of the same is not at all what I wanted from DICE.

Maybe others will think it is pure awesomeness, but the only thing that will get me to purchase the game (at a sale price) is if the PC version looks 1,000 times better than that crap up on Xbox Live.

I played on the PC for about 30 minutes before my game crashed and I feel exactly the same. BF3 is pretty much just Bad Company 3 in terms of gameplay and graphics.

That Caspian map is serious bussiness, love that map.

Finally got into a server, after 30mins of pressing refresh and adding password lol, one word.. EPIC.

So wide open, they should have really used that map for the beta.

Try the Caspian map, its huge, tons of things to drive or fly, huge map feels alot more like BF2 then BC2 on that map.

I gave up on this last night when Origin seemed to stop working altogether. Trying again now and I still haven't figured out this crap about where to put the installer. Nothing seems to work for me so I just started downloading it again through Origin. Thank Xenu I upgraded to unlimited internet a couple of months ago.
