You can get much better scores! horgen123

Oh I know. But until I have a game chop up on me I don't overclock. Unless its a factory overclocked vid card or something like in my sig.

updated. GPUZ/Afterburner your boost clocks please.http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/751773
4.2Ghzcpu, 1050Mhz gpu.

Improved my Ice Storm score by sticking some better firmware on my note. AllianceRom was hold my note back now I'm on JellyBeer4 and things are better.
Looking at that physics score, CPU must be at stock. The graphics score is slightly higher. C_Rulesshhhhh
I wanted to test my FX-8350. But, 3D Mark Basic couldn't connect for some reason. I'm not sure why. But, I'm not about to disable the security settings I have in place.
did you allow 3dmark through any firewall you are running?darksusperia
Yup. I also turned off the systemwide protection in the resident portion of Spybot: Search and Destroy. Still No Go.
I mean if Steam, Origin, and Uplay have no problems communicating in and out, then Futuremark shouldn't have any either. So, I'm not going to worry about it.
You're not going to get a virus if you turn it all off for a few minutes. Would be good to have some Piledriver scores in here.I wanted to test my FX-8350. But, 3D Mark Basic couldn't connect for some reason. I'm not sure why. But, I'm not about to disable the security settings I have in place.

The thing is I already enabled 3D Mark firewall access plus I turned off Spybot: Search & Destroy and did a restart. 3D Mark still couldn't connect. I don't think it's worth it to find out why 3D Mark couldn't connect online while the DRM apps (Steam, Uplay, and Origin) and everything else can.
Mine. I don't think I needed to mess with the firewall or security apps. Yup. Figured it out. Oh. I have Turbo Core Technology disabled. So, I don't think it'll go beyond 4Ghz. Turbo Mode goes up to 4.2Ghz.
Just an update:
This is as far as I'll go without messing around with my voltages and conducting stability tests. Seems fine though at 4.4Ghz.

Wife's old PC finally died (pos mobo anyway), so I just went out and upgraded it to a 2500k. Still on stock cooler yet so can't OC very high, will change that to the H100i as soon as I get her a better case. Got it 2nd hand on OCN so it was a good bundle deal. (CPU/Mobo/Ram)Â
Â
Anyways, so far the 3DMark Fire Strike score is: 2656 (Link for proof)
2500k @ 3.8GHz, GTX460 @ 850/1900, G.Skill Memory @ 1600MHz

Darn, and I was really considering buying the 8350 :( I'm just going to wait and see if Steamroller is any good then, assuming that it is still AM3+ like every site currently suggests. With the (supposed) added hyperthreading, I assume its performance should beat out my 1055t handily. Really been looking for a worthwhile replacement without having to also buy a new motherboard :/Weird_Jerk
Good enough for me since I'm moving up from a Phenom II X3. The physics scores are kinda low. But, the old GTX 560 Ti installed seems to have an effect on them.Â
Looking at the list of similar CPUs with similar (over)clock speeds, they also have varying physics which seem to correspond to the different video cards. My motherboard is about as low-end as it gets even though it's an ASUS board.
The FX-8350 is just to tide me over until I assemble an all-new PC next year. That one will be either Intel or AMD depending on what Steamroller brings. Â

Eh, I understand. The motherboard does play a pretty big role in these benchmarks, as I was able to squeeze out a few hundred extra points just by pushing the FSB a lot further and lowering the multiplier.
On the other hand, I'm really looking for a CPU comparable to at least an overclocked 2600k with a physics score fairly easily over 10k, but I'm too cheap to put up enough for any newer intel chips :P Only time will tell I guess.
EDIT: Got a new cloud gate score when I was OCing last night (it was cold, so I figured why not): http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/805258 unfortunately, my firestrike score was exactly the same :x

Looking around, some FX-8350 owners broke the 10k physics score. But, that meant overclocking it to 5.1Ghz. I don't think I'll go that far. I tend not to babysit my PC too much.
Tried it at 4.5Ghz without adjusting vcore voltages. It worked fine although I had to disable other settings like Cool n Quiet and adjust LLC to 50%. I think I'll go back to 4.4Ghz and have everything enabled.

thread has been updated. @jun, I didn't update your firestrike score as the current one was higherdarksusperia
That's fine. I did another test, leaving the CPU at 4.4Ghz and overclocking, this time my GTX 560 Ti. Although a couple of games I tried it on gained some framerate increases (Hard Reset: 6-8fps, Far Cry 3 DX11: 8-10fps), there wasn't even a dent on 3DMark. In fact, they were a bit lower. I don't think the overclock is even on.
Finally got home from work and was able to run the benchmark again after OC'ing my GPU.
Here are the results:
Fire Strike: 7227 http://www.3dmark.com/fs/583204
Cloud Gate: 24038 http://www.3dmark.com/cg/547925
That puts me at the top of the 680's! I will OC my CPU this weekend and run the benchmarks again.
You had yours at 1123/6262 and got that score? :oFinally got home from work and was able to run the benchmark again after OC'ing my GPU.

[QUOTE="The_Animator23"]You had yours at 1123/6262 and got that score? :o I will have to check the numbers when I get home from work. That sounds about right though(atleast in the ballpark). I am running both higher and got a worse score than you....horgen123Shitty. What brand/model 680 do you have?
[QUOTE="The_Animator23"][QUOTE="horgen123"]I am running both higher and got a worse score than you....horgen123Shitty. What brand/model 680 do you have? MSI Twin Frozr III You beat all of us and have lower clocks. Perhaps the CPU that does it. Rest of us got i5. I'm finally home from work and able to check the numbers. For that benchmark, I used 1134 for GPU Boost and 6158 for Memory Clock in my GPU Tweak utility.

MSI Twin Frozr III You beat all of us and have lower clocks. Perhaps the CPU that does it. Rest of us got i5. The benchmark doesn't solely rely on Mhz... It's creating averages from the framerate. For example you have a i5 3570k at 4.6 and I have a i5 2500k at 4.5 and your GTX 680 is clocked a little higher than mine BUT my score is a little higher than yours, this is because you may have had a dip in FPS during and that can be caused by the stability of your system or what ever you have in the back ground that could jerk the framerate down by 1-3fps. Also depending on the temperature of your cards boost might hit the stated overclock for a 100% of the time during the benchmark.
Third place please!

My performance improved by 1k after upgrading psu.
