Best RPG ever?

What would a mainstream site like Gamespot be without one of these comments ?

C'mon, man, graphics and voice-acting are what arr-pee-gees are all about! Well, that and man on wookie luvin'.

Never played Planescape or baldurs gate 2 ( am looking to buy it now). But from those choices its a very hard decision because they were all awesome. The one I probably sunk the most time into is Morrowind though with fallout 1 and 2 behind it. Vampire Masquerade was amazing too even though I never beat it.

BG2:SoA->ToB is my all time favorite game, but for the best RPG (also the best game) I have to go with Torment.

I think anyway. This, Tales of SYmphonia, and Paper Mario are all amazing.

Baldur's Gate 2 IS the best game of all time, i have yet to play a game that can come close to it.

Torment is amazing as well.

Morrowind is great, as well as Fallout.

What the hell is Vampire doing in the list lol, plenty of better RPG's out there, like baldur's gate 1, dragon age origins or even diablo

I'm gonna have to give it to Morrowind. Vampire is a really close second, but the last few hours of the game really let it down.

Actually I might have dropped Vampire and replaced it with Gothic 2.....tough call.

Also, Dragon Age: Origins might warrant consideration

CRPG -- "Computer" Role-Playing Game; CRPG originally stands for video games that emulate tabletop / pnp RPGs.

it seems that BG enhanced edition will be different from the original BG in certain ways. it's up to you whether you want to know how the original game is like.

Hey kozzy, you should try out Arcanum. I'm about half way trough the game right now, never played it before, and it's absolutely amazing.

The amount of choices to role play your character trough out the game are mind boggling. Hell you can be a fire warlord, a western type of a gunslinger, a beautiful and resourceful lady that can persuade herself out of anything, a charismatic healer and hypnotist, a technological master that can unleash a army of robots, a necromancer that can obliterate everything with a army of the undead, a elf bowman at peace with nature, hell even a evil herbologist. And much more. I'm a fantasy type of a warrior now. There's also a crap load of stuff to craft.

The story is vague at the beginning with loose ends, but around half way trough it all comes together in a amazing way. The combat is also good if it's turn-based.

Be sure to add the following mods:

• Drog Black Tooth's Unofficial Arcanum Patch
• HQ Map Pack
• Extra Animations Pack
• Hi Res Patch

Thus you got no bugs and good 2D izometric graphics.
