I had to go with the siege tank. nothing made it harder to get into an enemy base with that thing defending it. I also chose it because it's a balanced unit. The mammoth tank always seemed like overkill, the warmachine of some egotistical madman.

EDIT: Not to mention the Mammoth was pretty pricey, Siege Tank was an affordable workhorse throughout the length of the match.

You roll a few of those on an enemy and they are hard-pressed to stop you.

King Tiger from terror doctrine is insane. It's pretty much only nerf is that it's unbelievably slow.

Still gotta pick baneblade though, sure it cost a lot and blah blah and the seige tank may be better (and it's balanced), but my God man, just LOOK at it! It's a MONSTER, and it's got eleven...ELEVEN (everything is ridiculous once you "turn it up to eleven") heavy weapons on it! The main gun is insane too - and hell, the explosion from that round is also pretty to look at.

The Land Raider. There's simply nothing that can dish out the kind of overall dustruction that it can all by itself. The Baneblade is better at dealing with large armies, and at long range attacks, basically acting as the ultimate support platform for the rest of your army.

Though, of course, that's just in DoW. The Land Raider is nowhere near the level of destructive power that the Baneblade is in the fluff. It's just a somewhat tougher tank than average with transport capabilities.

As for the other three, they don't even come close to being as strong unit-for-unit as the relic tanks in DoW. Out of the three, I'd pick the Apocalypse Tank. Well-rounded, extremely durable, and they had awesome, unique voice-overs added in Yuri's Revenge ("These will be your last moments."). Mammoth Tanks weren't particularly impressive until C&C3 (unless you count the Mammoth walker in Tiberian Sun, that thing rocked). Siege Tanks are very fragile and pathetically overrated among tanks in RTS games, though they of course are useful in Starcraft. Cool name, too.

I knew everyone would say the Mammoth but in reality it's clearly the siege tank....

Everyone remembers the first time they maxed out their population limit with only tanks and waited for unsuspecting enemies to get close enough...so cool...

The Apocalypse tank was almost always my last unit alive, and a single Elite Apoc could take out anything else in a one or two hits. Not to mention it had AA defense in case anybody tried to throw some rocketeers or jets at you.

Well, yeah. The fatboy is a super-super-super-heavy tank.

The larger titans would lay waste to any of the units even in Supreme Commander, though. Even SupCom's greatest weapons can't hope to defeat the great ones of 40K.

Adozen veteran status Mirage tanks from Red Alert 2 dotted around the front of your base was nigh on impossible to get passed. On the offensive, 10 - 12 prism tanks behind 6 Mirage tanks could decimate a base in seconds.

Why do so many forget this amazing game?
