[QUOTE="sSubZerOo"]

[QUOTE="gearsofhalogeek"]again, it is a rehash. read the definition and explain to me how ANY of those games are not the definitions of rehashs of their predecessors. the same gameplay mechanics with minor adjustments does not make a game not a rehash. lol again i didnt claim to be the stuck up pc person with a distaste for rehashes, i just pointed out that MOST of the BIG PC TITLES are REHASHES of their prequels or straight copies of other games. and im fine with that, as long as they do what they are supposed to do.gearsofhalogeek

Minor gameplay changes? There is a world of difference between Diablo and Diablo 2 for instance when it comes to gameplay..

. other than the abilities they added, updated graphics and chapters, yeah... it was all the same. same concept, run around, kill stuff, get loot. but it appears that i should keep my opinions and the facts to myself. just please dont say a game is not a rehash because it has a new mechanic/graphics like the starcrafts and diablos. because it is. its more than a rehash, its identical in every way except for may one or two differences. we have gotten completely off topic, i just want to say that i understand what kotick is doing and from a business perspective i agree with it.

there were some key changes in diablo 2, like the entire online thing. But if we were playing diablo 10 this year, we would complain about that too.

[QUOTE="Elann2008"][QUOTE="Prexxus"] Are you joking? It's widely known in the gaming community that us PC gamers are the minority compared to consoles. PTMags

Small community? Blizzard's World of Warcraft says hello with 10+ million subscribers. Bobby's very own Acti-Blizzard company... It's the neglect of PC gamers, just pushing out straight ports that are resulting in low sales and lack of interest. Whether you like it or not, PC gamers are just smarter shoppers. We don't just dive in at a new game every chance we got.

Pretty much this. That's the way the PC market works, we have all sorts of amazing deals available to us...ALL THE TIME. Activision, slow to adapt like every bloated big business, would rather try to MMO-ize their most popular franchise and focus on over-priced DLC than adapt to and become a real player in the PC market. There's clearly a decent sized audience there, as The Witcher 2 sold 400,000 copies in a week and of course there's WoW with its 11+ million subscribers. Activision just doesn't know how to properly play the PC field and would rather cater to the mouth-breathing masses that love mediocrity, buy a game (with trade-ins oftentimes), and then trade it in two weeks later.

I couldn't agree more.

[QUOTE="Elann2008"]This. How could Bobby K the CEO of Activision not know that his main competitor's game BF3 is a multi-platform game? Of course he knows. I bet he dreams about BF3. :PChubbyGuy40

Nah. He dreams about how he could casualize and make BF the next CoD.

Thank God that'll never happen.

 True. Thank God for that. :D

What Activision is trying to do is CONVINCE people that no one plays on PC so that first time console-buyers will go to either the PS3 or Xbox... that means more money for Activision. (or any company for that matter)

TerrorRizzing
i dont follow, why would he care what platform we buy his game on?

They make more money off the console versions.

Hey Bobby what game franchise and company are you going to ruin next? You are starting to ruin Blizzard by adding more fees to WoW for extra features how else will you milk it into death?

your 30 million steam accounts does not equal 60 million (ps3 and xbox combined online accounts). and the wii is a platform for ip spinoffs. all 3 (nintendo, ps and xbox) total financially equals win. dont get me wrong, i game on pc, but your rehash remark made me laugh. starcraft. EVERY MMO.... yeah, we pc gamers expect more than rehashes dont we?gearsofhalogeek
About half of all game sales are still physical, and steam isn't the only DD service. The total pc market is about the same size as the total console market.

Blizzard wouldn't make more money and last I checked, it's Activision Blizzard. That also doesn't make much sense, if someone buys a console, they probably intend on buying games for it, it's just that Activision is much less profitable on PC than on consoles, they make less money on DD, which is half of the PC sales, while DD is 0% of the console CoD sales.

Also, PC gamers tend to buy BF and pirate CoD, 'least from what I've seen, so it's juts not a market he wants to premote for that franchise. He's lucky that there are so many blind CoD fans, I have a Cod fanboi friend, impossible to get him to play other games, it's like a religion to him.

V4LENT1NE
There are no extra features....those "features" you're talking about are premium features, that you shouldn't even need at all and they were planned before the merger. You don't play with character renames and realm migrations...

I think, for the sake of faction balance, they need to open free faction xfers x.x, get the bg queues under control, or just allow the bg's to not be faction restricted, so balance wouldn't matter.

But if I want to play with friends on a different realm I have to pay for it to invite them. Blizzard would have never done **** like that if it wasnt for Activision trying to milk them. They have been doing crap like this ever since Activision went into partnership, charging for pets, mounts etc.

Irrelevant, if friends wanted you to play with them, you'd have made a character on that realm and the other way around, there's no excuse for such things, either you or your friends started WoW before the other(s) and Blizz would have never bothered to do such things in the first place. Take it how you want it but there is no real problem here, I also had friends playing on other realms, couldn't care less, because those certain realms didn't have what I was looking for (alliance - horde ratio, number of players) and they had no reason to play on my realm.

These premium functions are for people that are interested, if you don't want to use them it's not because the price and I know you're not suggesting that premium pets, mounts change in absolutely any way your gaming experience, jealousy, really? because that's all there is when you're talking about pets and mounts that were bought.

@Inconsistancy It would never work, because of the facts, even as it is, more Alliance players transfer to Horde, if anything, Horde should transfer to Alliance to make it more balanced, but nobody cares about that, people play for fun, you can have fun in PvP no matter how rare matches are because the other factions doesn't have enough players and most simply have no fun playing for Alliance, but at the same time they have PvP teamwork.

how? the profit margins are higher on pc, i dont follow. Im sure they make more from consoles at the end of the day, but only because the sales are higher not because of profit margin.

activision loses money on most things except call of duty and the blizzard division. Without those two things they would be like ea, struggling to make profit. Almost all the big console publishers are having a rough go, thats why when they do have a success story they milk it to death.

Publishers make much more money on consoles/physical sales, it's the dev that has the better profit margin for pc/dd.
