Borderlands PC

I got my first glimps of this game on a Gametrailers video. It is pretty much a first person shooter, but with RPG elements included in a way to bring birth to a "new" genre, the Role Playing Shooter.

I can't wait to see how this game comes out. I thought that it would be similar to Fallout 3, but from what I heard, it doesn't really feel like playing a FPS.

I don't really like the visual style though, especially on the PC.

Who else is excited about this game?

You bet I am excited about this! The game is everything I love, first person with random drops and unique character builds all in what looks like a painting. I have been waiting for a game like this ever since Hellgate tanked.

Im a bit interested, but I dont want to hype it, cause that usually leads me to be be broke with a bad game/game I dont like... but it looks cool :/

Yeah, I love the concept and the design, but I'm worried that it's just going to turn into an eternal grindfest, and not value entertaining battles and missions.

This game is going to be awesome, can't wait for 4 person coop dungeon raids with heat seeking rocket launchers and incendiary spitting pistols.

If it turns out to be as good as it looks, it will be one of the only games I buy this year. The stylized graphics are awesome IMHO. I'd much prefer the stylized graphics and gameplay to the "gritty realistic" look and tired gameplay of something like modern warfare 2.

Just because I'm playing it doesn't mean I like it. :D Well actually, Mass Effect is a strange case, since it's actually kinda.. good. But it's still dumbed down a lot, and it could've been a lot better if it was a PC exclusive. I rarely like games that aren't PC exclusive these days. They just don't appeal to me.

The thing is some people expected more of it than just simple fun. Console gamers can have their own games to have fun with, and PC gamers have their own games. Everybody's happy. Why need to mix them up? You just end up pleasing neither.

This is why gaming was better in the 90's. PC games and console games were radically different. Both kind of gamers were happy with their games. These days the 360 and PS3 are just trying imitate PC in everything it does, and I know I for one - I ain't that happy.

nah i like dumbded down games....everyone can play them, i dont like the super mega hardcore games that need you to be "experienced" in the game before you even play the game.

In any case i understand what he means... it has to do with what you played first and if the sequel is much more simple it feels dumbed down for someone who was a pretty hardcore player of the original game.... That happened to me with deus ex and invisible war and ss2 and bioshock, if i had played the later games first then i wouldnt whine....but sometimes after a long time you get used to simple stuff and you want a more complicated gameplay.

I am fine with more complicated gameplay as long it doesnt filled with unbalanced stuff, eg in timeshift enemies can take many hits to the head and the body... challenging? yes but its also crap and idiotic.
