I'm not ashamed to admit it.

I have both a PS3 & 360 and I'm really sick of both of them.

I haven't played a game on my 360 in a long time (Fable 3) because I'm afraid that it might rrod any moment. I don't buy games for my ps3 anymore because all the ports are complete garbage and the Sony games all have online pass.

I've always been a PC gamer but I've usually had a console too. Now I think I'm probably just going to be a PC gamer for a while.

6th I'm on a PC gaming forum because I'm not into System Wars. I can't get sick of what I don't use or care about. All I can say about PS 3 gaming is that I really can't get sick of watching BR movies on a PS 3, if there would be something else it certainly wouldn't be relevant in this place, but System Wars.

I bought a 360 on Black Friday and played about two minutes. I let my friends play Gears in coop and whatever else... I just don't feel like playing on that console for some reason. Slight remorse, at least they get to enjoy it.

My PS3 must have a faulty power source because it randomly shuts down. I watch Blu-Rays on it, played a couple of games but now I barely even start it. I'm too lazy to get it fixed.

But the biggest buyer's remorse comes from my PC purchases. Battlefield 3: HATE IT, would sell it to get some money back but Origin lol. Batman AC: played 4-5 hours, didn't grab my interest like the first one. I spent over 70 Euros during the Steam winter sale, went back to playing Quake singleplayer next week. In fact I don't even remember what I bought during the winter sale except for LA Noire (crappy game) and Dungeon Siege 3 (which I like a lot, have yet to finish it though).

I was just having this same convo with a buddy of mine. Haven't touched the 360 in probably 2 years, PS3 in 4 months and I no longer have the Wii. The reason I gave him is because they just don't seem to be simplistic consoles anymore with just plug and play. I'm sure if I booted up either system I would have a couple large ass updates before getting to the menu and maybe another update just to get online with the game.

I'll probably initially skip the next ones out unless they offer something pretty awesome kind of like how the PS3 was the cheapest bluray player at the time of its release.

I have a good gaming PC, a 360 and a PS3 and don't regret buying any of them. For the number of hours I have played each of them they have all been great value for money, and still allow me to play whatever game I want on any of those platforms.

Over the last 5-6 years the amount I have played each platform has changed, and my PC is getting the most attention at the moment, but there is no regret about having the other platforms.

I understand what you're saying but I was trying to avoid this ecoming a famewar and for this particular question, I'm only interested in the perspective of other PC gamers.

I generally only play on PC when I can, it's just so much cleaner and prettier as far as graphics and graphical options. Not to mention the smoother framerate. I will still play on my PS3 but only when I absolutely have to. That said, I don't have buyers remorse for my PS3 at all, it's still a good system (although horribly underpowered) and I definitely don't have remorse for buying my PC.

I keep my consoles (360 and PS3) for exclusives, and games that never make it to the PC like Red Dead Redemption, Shadows of the Damned, Demon and Dark Souls. To say that you can't have any sort of fun on consoles and that their games completely suck is 100% wrong. I have a PC, 360, and PS3 and no regrets here. I would have regrets had I sold or got rid of one of them. Although my PC gets the most attention (about 90%), I would never say getting a console was a waste of money and time.

I really dislike hearing people say consoles are trash, with the PC elitest attitude. I understand the graphics wars, and 60 frames per second and all that jazz, where the PC is superior in every way. But at the end of the day, if you as the gamer, are not bothered by a few setbacks, and you're having fun then who really gives a hoot.

Kinda. I only play exclusives on my PS3 and Wii, which means I don't really even play the Wii all that often. I just got the ICO/SotC HD remake thing from Gamefly and Can't wait to play SotC again. I just always feel so detached when playing on a console. Sitting so far away from the screen, using a gamepad, and the graphics all just take me out of it. I recently got a beta key for Starhawk and after 30 minutes I just wasn't having fun. When watching videos it looks so good and fun, but when actually playing it, I just don't enjoy it. It is mostly for shooters though. I also downloaded the Twisted Metal MP demo so hopefully that will be more fun.

I often have FIFA12 tournaments over at my house with friends. One of them brings his PS3 and we play round robin with semi-finals and finals. GREAT FUN !!! I'm gonna trade in my XBOX360 and exchange it for a PS3 so my friend doesn't have to bring his all the time...

I play on what has the games I want. Unless some crap like MS might be pulling this next gen. (see below)

PC is my main, and only atm....

We will get a WiiU (and have pretty much the whole nintendo backlog)

The next xbox we will prolly skip, rumor has it that it won't play used games.

We might get a PS3 for certain games, and Blu-ray...

I stopped console gaming after the previous generation. The increased prices, online junk, DLC, all made me go PC full time. I thought "If my PC already does this stuff for cheaper, why bother?"

I buy consoles. No shame about it. :) They usually end up as...dusty things in that forlorn corner of my room. No shame about that either. Occasionally, a game comes along that might be good enough for me to dust off those antiques and play on it but really, I just find the experience very subpar and restrictive so I don't enjoy them very much.

I like having a console or two for some of the exclusives and also like using them as a dvd player in my bedroom :P

With that said, 80% of my gaming gets done on my PC, its just alot more fun to me then most console games.

Red Dead Redemption, Forza3/4, Lost Odyssey, Gears Of War3, Heavy Rain, GT5, I am gla dI have my consoles for those games as I really liked them, but in the end 90% of multiplats are better on PC and I enjoy the exclusives alot more on PC. Mainly only used for singleplayer games from time to time.

For the occasional exclusives that I do like. But unfortunately, they don't come very often. The Wii, though, is for the family and visiting friends.

I don't regret buying my 360 or any console as I still "recently switched". Since I switched I've only bought one game for it, Dark Souls. I will buy ME3 and probably be done with it all together after that tho.

I don't regret buying the Wii and the ps3; the latter is my system in which I watch animes and movies and with the Wii I have passed a good time with Nintendo's exclusives. But after that I hardly use them for gaming. Nothing interesting on the Wii atm and most of the ps3 games bore me to death these days.

I like my PS3, I hated the 360 because of the faulty hardware and what not. Though I don't think I've felt more burned by anything than I did by battlefield 3. The entire affair was just a nightmare and it was one of the few games I bought last year. I really really felt like I threw away money with that and the thing is I don't even play it anymore.

I don't get sick of my 360, mostly because I use it only to play exclusives that I'm dying to play, and those exclusives consist of the EA Sports NHL franchise only, which I will never get sick of!.

Bought a PS2, didn't like it that much and sold it to help purchase my Xbox 360. Had the Xbox 360 for like 18 months, it collected a lot of dust and I sold it to help build a gaming PC.

At this point I don't think I will ever buy a console again, I don't like it - probably because the games are so freaking expensive. Anyways since then my GF bought me a WII for Christmas - it collects a good amount of dust as well.

Not it still sucks because the consoles have way more games in those genres. PC has some, but the consoles just have more. And you can't (legally) play some of the best platformers of the generation like Super Mario Galaxy and Donkey Kong Returns on pc.

"Maybe. I have a console but it may be my last."

PS3 is garbage. Selling.

For now I get most of my games on Xbox but after next gen this may change.

I am mostly concerned with the "where and how" of buying.

If I have my whole library on Steam, and they go under, it leaves me in a lurch.

I don't trust digital distribution model.

I need to OWN the product with no strings and no DRM. A clean program that I can own and run forever.

Unless I can get that, I get the Xbox version.

If I need to login to server to run it, forget it, I'm not buying.

I'm sick of my 360 and Microsoft all together. They abandoned the PC platform in favor of the Xbox and now are abonding their fans on Xbox in order to sell more Kinect-devices. MS doesn't give a single **** about their fanbase that's for sure. So few games (exclusives) coming out for it it's rediculous. The only reason I haven't got rid of it yet is because I still have to finish Banjo-Kazooie nuts & bolts.

I'm not at all sick of my PS3 and think that it's a great addition to PC gaming. A lot of great exclusives are on PS3 and the HD cla$$ics are a great way to pick up the games I have missed out on because I didn't have a PS2. Killzone, Resistance, God of War, Uncharted, Sly Cooper, Ico are some of the games for which I'm glad that I have a PS3 because you don't get those games on PC.

Next gen I'm going with PC and PS4 and/or WiiU.

Thank you for touching on the one thing I will definitely miss from having a console. Everything else I can do with my PCs; hook up to the tv through hdmi, connect a controller for those games that work better with a controller. But the one downside to PC gaming is that they don't incorporate splitscreen. But the thing is that devs should start doing so considering how many people hood up gaming pcs to their tvs: it's a lot easier to do now.

Now that you mention it, the only games I still get for my ps3 anymore are those splitscreen type games: last year I got Portal 2 (it came with the pc copy) and MW3.

Hopefully that will be something that they'll be taking into consideration soon. I can see why it wasn't necissary in the past: people usually just LANed it and had their own monitors. But now with all the PCs having hdmi out, the games should have split screen capabilities.

You don't buy ps3 games because you have to activate an online pass? Basically every single pc game is like this.

I know, you're right. The thing is that the consoles seem to be getting all the crappy parts of PC gaming like expensive codes, expensive hardware, and broken games that get patched later; hell some games even have hardware specs now. Then there are even games that don't have hardware specs but should: look at all the problems some people are having with Skyrim on the PS3 while others aren't having problems. I have a feeling that those who aren't having problems probably have a particular version of the PS3, switched out a bigger HDD, or something like that..or maybe they just rush through the game so the save file doesn't grow. Unfortunately consoles aren't getting any of the benefits of PC gaming like mods, tweaking, and cheaper games.

And it isn't that a machine like the ps3 isn't capable, Sony just doesn't give it very good support...third parties don't support it very well either.

I think that if it was supported better and if the 360 didn't have that chronic rrod problem (and a monthly fee), I would have a lot more patience with the consoles.

What nice timing for this thread. I am currently in the process of selling my PlayStation 3 so as to have a bit more cash to put towards a gaming PC. PC gaming simply makes me giggle in delight and I am quite the manly man, yes.

No remorse on my end. I own a PS3, but i rarely ever use it for gaming. It has become the bluray and mediaplayer in the household. My wife plays Skyrim on it maybe once a month. I'm to comfortable with my pc.

I'm thinking of borrowing a Wii to play Mario Galaxy and Donkey Kong, but i don't think i'll buy one.

I've gone back and forth between consoles and PC gaming over the past 15 years. However, this is my first time having my own gaming PC and I've enjoyed it thoroughly so far. Anything could happen, but I think PC gaming will stick this time since I love having my own rig. :)

EDIT: I play the Wii with my fiancee every now and then and I did get Skyward Sword for Christmas because I'm a Zelda fanatic. :P

Love both my PC and Wii. 360 and PS3 has some nice games too, but not nice enough for me to own any of them.

I'm really loving my ps3. Mostly for all the other uses than games but still stuff like soul calibur is fun.

No. The consoles are cool for house parties and for exclusives.

What other uses? The online browser? that thing crashes the ps3 more often than a Bethesda game.

You want to freeze your ps3? Try using their Youtube thing.

With the crappy support Sony provides the only thing the PS3 does anymore is play BR dvds & games.

And let's face it, with the crappy support from third party devs, it doesn't even play games very well either.

That's mostly why I regret buying a ps3. Sure it had a lot of potential, but none of it has ever been anywhere near being met.
