Diablo III hope in sight - how does it feel.

Don't know how many other old Diablo/Diablo II junkies are lurking around here on the forums, but I am definitely one of them, which means that I have been waiting for Diablo III, in essence, for half my life.

Now there's all these promising rumors, and while rumors they may be, they all seem to point to the same thing: Diablo III will be on my computer before the end of 2011.

I know, I know. We've heard it before : "It's coming out this year." But this time it actually makes sense, and everyone seems to think that it's coming next.

And yes, I know there's a lot of time left in 2011, BUT, this is something tangible, FINALLY.

Express your feelings, I'm all about the Diablo III hype and sentiment.

I'm not convinced it will come out this year - but if it does my wife will be over the moon.

Knowing Blizzard, something will happen that will cause it to be pushed back into early next year.

Diablo is pretty much the only Blizzard IP left that I have any hope for. So far I like what I see, but there's still plenty of time left between now and a release date. I don't expect this game to come out before an official announcement at BlizzCon which doesn't occur until the end of the year. So, at the earliest I don't think the game will be out until the end of '12.

Knowing Blizzard, something will happen that will cause it to be pushed back into early next year.

There has been no official word yet...Until i here any thing in stone..Im not believing any thing..We have a release date for duke nuke em..Thats concrete may 3rd..Ill be needing fact like this before i believe..

The animation didnt upset me..The tiering crap did..Im playing divine divinity 2 atm..Im enjoying that more than oblivion..Two worlds is my next type game..That will hold me over on rpgs till march..

Diablo 3 looks great though from what ive seen an heard..Like what they have done so far..Even though ill miss the paladin..My fav character..Also the undead person forget his name atm..Im sure will get many expansions though..Hopefully more than one this time..

I am NO DOUBT one of those people ;). My most anticipated game at the moment and has been for over 10 years now. That won't change until its out either :P.

wait how is what you just posted not a rumor as well(or just speculation)? as far as im concerned with blizzard games, their release dates aren't set until a month from the date that they officially set (seeing as how they change their release dates all the time)

Even less, more like 3.5 years. Diablo II came out about 10.5 years ago. I would say over 7 years is a big difference :P.

Rule one about Blizzard: dont wait for their games. Just forget about them and then when its released be like "Oh, sweet!"

dont display your ignorance by ignoring the facts, that blizzard has never released a game without delaying it and often has delays of upwards of 6 months. in world of warcrafts case, it was well over a year...

As a long time blizzard fan, I can tell you that they don't ever DELAY anything. Something is ready when it is ready and that is when they release it.

They take there time to balance things right..More companies should follow..It showed with starcraft 2..look how much that sold in days..Diablo 3 will out sell that world wide..They have a lot of balancing issues to work out..Even now we get patches still for starcraft 2

Even now we get patches for Diablo II :lol:. They supported the game pretty well IMO (although another expansion or two would have been nice) with some beefy patches that they released for free. I mean they added so much with synergies, uber tristram, balancing, and additions.

First of all, child, this game has already been delayed many, many, many, many times. So your magical equation involving the impossibility of a release prior to a delay has already been satisfied, since this game has been delayed over and over again.

Second of all, the link I quoted IS THE OFFICIAL WBESITE OF THE GAME DEVELOPER, AND IT DOES NOT INCLUDE A RELEASE DATE. SOOOOO... it is a rumor at this point. KK thx, that argument is over.

Next, the NEW CEO OF ACTIVISION BLIZARD (Yes,it changed hands, you might have read about it? Hmm, guess not.) Already stated that they plan on releasing 2 (1+1) titles per year. So, hmm.. let's think here.... Can't be the next WoW expac, because they have NEVER been released less than a year apart. So even if there is a Starcraft 2 expansion headed our way, that leaves Diablo III as the other to be released.

I really am lost as far as what point you are making in this thread. Your original post said that you expect Diablo III by the end of the year, and yet with your link you clearly showed that no release date has been announced. So everything you have said is pure speculation, however you went ahead and belittled the second poster who made the claim of a december release date as being only a rumor. The thing is a lot of the delays that blizzard has comes after they announce the release date, and seeing as how a speculated relase time has yet to be announced (i.e. winter of 2011) then there is little hope to be had so far. Even if there is a new CEO of activision blizzard who makes such claims, (probably only to make shareholders happy) there is no garaunteed everything will follow through. Now I share the same sentiment that I really do wish Diablo III comes out soon, as I too have been waiting. However I wish you would calm down and stop attacking other people. Just wait for official information to be released.

You are wrong, first of all, before they had an official release, they said that battle.net 2.0 would add 6 months to the release, but since they never had a date, THAT IS NOT DELAYED.

Other people give hard dates when blizz is gonna release something, blizzard doesn't because "it's done when it's done" So they don't give release dates until about a month ahead of time.

If it is coming out this year then that's too good to be true.

I don't understand the hype behind it. The third game really doesn't look to do anything super great or new. *Shrugs* It's Starcraft 2 all over again, I suppose.
