[QUOTE="millerlight89"] I hope they shrink back down, if they get much bigger we will need a case just for the GPU.

Edit: Do you have that case, if so it isn't bad looking. It looks solid.

millerlight89

You mean this?

That's the case I bought for my new computer.

Yea I think it is a nice looking case. Kind of alien, but at the same time elegant.

Yea, I think so too. Originaly I thought I was going for a more "alien-ish", but it turns out I forgot to make a selection.
That there is what I got as a result. And surprisingly, I think it's not too bad myself. The first thing I ever thought about that product is "a little on the plain side."
That is until I RESEARCH about it.
I think she's gonna be very good to me for a long time.

Absolutely hideous. Its profile is repulsively ugly.

BluRayHiDef

Alot better looking that your case bro.

I'll reiterate and add an additional point: It's hideous. My case looks infinitely better.

Yeah your case matches your ego :P lol JK

Yes, it is elegant...if you lack decorum and if the word "elegant" means the exact opposite of what it actually does.

They should send a voice recording of Simon Cowell saying "Absolutely dreadful" to anyone who buys the case you recommended.

BluRayHiDef

Got me good, but I don't remember recommending one.

Sorry. I confused you with the user who posted a link to theNZXT Tempest EVO Gaming Tower Case.

I'd recommend that case to other people but since you seem to favor the HAF 932 that's obviously the one you should go with. The NZXT Tempest EVO is an excellent case but apparently not everyone is going to like it but I do highly recommend it :D.

Good one you guys! Good one. :P

If I'd pick something more fashionable, then it would get too hot. Plus it looked smaller than my "mistake". So I was fortunete for that. Lol!
And BluRay, what is the oppisate of elegant? I forgot.

Question: Is the stock cooler that comes with the i7-920 good enough for me to overclock it to 3.2GHz? Also, will games that say you need Windows Vista or Xp play on Windows 7? Do games that say you need a processor that runs at a speed greater than the stock speed of the i7-920 (2.66GHz) run well on it at stock speed? For example, Dead Space requires a processor with a speed of 2.8GHz, yet the i7-920's stock speed is only 2.66.

BluRayHiDef
the 2.8 GHz rating on dead space is for single core processors. Oh and If you plan on overclocking I'd recommend checking out the cooler Master v8 or one of the Megahalem coolers :)

I was going to get it, but I found the H50 from Corsair at Bestbuy. There was no way I was about to pass the H50 up.

My upcomming specs:

NZXT Tempest EVO Gaming Tower Case

Intel® Core™ i7 920 Processor

CoolerMaster V8 CPU Cooling Fan System

12 GB [2 GB X6] DDR3-1333 Triple Memory Module - Corsair or Major Brand

ATI Radeon HD 5850 - 1GB [x1]

MSI X58 PRO-E -- Intel X58 CrossFire Chipset w/7.1 Sound, Gb LAN, Triple-Channel DDR3, S-ATA Raid, USB 2.0, Triple PCI-E MB (Or simply put, my motherboard)

500 Watt PSU

1.5 TB HARD DRIVE

[8X Blu-Ray] LG BLU-RAY Re-Writer, DVD±R/±RW Burner Combo Drive

Honestly I don't know the brand name, I might've just stick with that default setting and thought she'll do fine. But now that you mention it, ouch. :( (And by the way, I ordered this on iBuypower.)

It should work if it is prebuilt. I would hope they wouldn't send you a PC that isn't going to. I think you will be fine.

Hey yea, I just forgot about that. Well after they tested it out, it passed. =)
But the PSU still bugs me however, I'm not too sure if I'll be able to achieve a good OC out of that, or if it will be stable whenever it comes to intense stuff.

I don't know why, but I find that to be hilarious.

PSU brand name is one of the most important things when building a PC, cheap PSU = Fail.

My upcomming specs:

NZXT Tempest EVO Gaming Tower Case

Intel® Core™ i7 920 Processor

CoolerMaster V8 CPU Cooling Fan System

12 GB DDR3-1333 Triple Memory Module - Corsair or Major Brand

ATI Radeon HD 5850 - 1GB

MSI X58 PRO-E -- Intel X58 CrossFire Chipset w/7.1 Sound, Gb LAN, Triple-Channel DDR3, S-ATA Raid, USB 2.0, Triple PCI-E MB

500 Watt PSU

1.5 TB HARD DRIVE

LG BLU-RAY Re-Writer, DVD±R/±RW Burner Combo Drive

Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium

And ignoring the rest. The only problem which concerns me is the PSU, is it a little too small for all these?

Pignas

Awesome! Create a sig with a pic or two of your rig :)

[QUOTE="millerlight89"][QUOTE="Pignas"] It doesn't have a brand name.

Pignas

So it's not an Antec, Corsair, etc? I am not 100% sure, but you may be in trouble.

Honestly I don't know the brand name, I might've just stick with that default setting and thought she'll do fine. But now that you mention it, ouch. :( (And by the way, I ordered this on iBuypower.)

Is it too late to change the PSU?

You should call them and see if you can change it. Why didn't you have someone build you a rig instead?

Well since this is a new day, well guess what. My new computer just came in today. Woot! :D
Ok, so I did some check-ups and you know what? When I checked out the PSU, it's not 500 watt, it's 700! I don't know, maybe they thought it's not a good PSU and changed that into something better...

I have a new thread so I'll explain the rest there.

This thread has been updated yet again. Recheck the opening post; it concerns tips I'll need for assembly.

So, what would you have me do? Would you rather that I create a new thread? I think not.

In answer to your new question TC, I've never used an Anti-static band when building mine. I played the case near a radiator, that way I could earth myself on the radiator and by not having to work across the room back to the case I dont build up much static.
