Fake gamer... lol. I'm always embarrass to mention I play games. It has never been a cool thing to be heavy gamer outside of other gamers. The rest of the world thinks you're a loser that is out of touch with reality.

You do have a point with end game raiding though. I remember WOW saying less than 2% of it's population finish the end game raids back in the BC expansion. That's why they have casualize it more and more with each expansion. They wrote up all the code for those raids but barely anyone was actually experiencing them.

Most people have never experienced end game raiding or tried it more than one or two times. I would say that it was some of the most fun I had. The problem is getting a group of people together to consistently attempt those raids. Felt great finishing a raid that your group has been working on for a dozen or so attempts. Something about working as a team and over coming weaknesses in your group to finish the content. Problem is it's a huge time sink that I know I won't able to do again. Maybe when I'm super old and retired and have endless amounts of free time. Still I would say that is the best part of an MMO and the main reason to play one. If you are just playing by yourself in a MMO or doing a small group dungeon it's just not the same. It's hard to explain unless you done it.

Ok so I was just listening to an interview with the head dev and he was saying that end-game is not raiding but dungeons. However the dungeons change after max lvl.mobs are completely different doors and areas open up that were not there before and stuff like that. Basically the story continues at end game. Also he said that IF the community really starts pushing for raids then they will do whats needed to make them happy.

I don't know what they have planned for you to do after max lvl or how they plan on keeping people playing but imo no raiding does make me a bit concerned. I never have been a huge raider myself but it's good to know that if I get the time there is always that option.

Kozzy and Felipe are respected here because they make quality posts that contribute to threads and/or discussions. Even if we disagree I tend to find myself able to understand (and respect) their opinions.

Seeing this thread again makes me hope they rethink the raid idea... unless they go with the extreme and give new, uncharted zones to explore it will probably suffer the fate of other MMOs before it. I honestly don't want the endgame to be PVP or 5-mans

What is TESO doing to change this? 4 player limit. mindless zerg open world bosses.

lets face it, casualising the games.... 

Nobody forces you to raid in world of warcraft yet it has most of the modern feautres. raiding added a competitive and challenging layer to PvE.... without it .... there isn't much.

So I agree a new method would be nice, or going back to open world sandboxes like ultima, but TESO is another theme park.... and with this choice it will have yet another non-existant PvErs endgame for no reason other than keeping casuals happy.

sounds good to me.  More "free form" type teamplay, i.e. going into a dungeon with some friends and relying more on skill than following a formula with a gear requirement, sounds much better to me.

When I think of deep mmo gameplay I think of games like EVE Online.
