I said this would happen and got called a troll.
Never fucking doubt me again.

Honestly though... I still pay the same for games
We didn't though. About 2 years ago, it was almost half the price of this. Basically, we are paying console prices now. Not just console prices, actually more.
Complete bullshit.

this is whats really confusing me..which is it? are you paying more or are you paying the equivalent of $60?
60 dollars here as expected. EA now chargedCanadians $70 for PC games so Ubisoft are still not as bad as them. Few publishers keeping 50 as the standard these days
Don't care about regional pricing. Anyways def not getting AC, but might pick-up Farcry since I really enjoyed the 3rd one.
DON'T BUY THEM!
^This...or wait to buy them...
Problem with this, even if you (as in me) don't. Other will and are.
And so, it becomes standard, for all AAA games. absolutely fuckall can be done. Nada.
TROLLS: THE THREAD
Video games have been $60+ since the 90s. Grow up. If they increased in price like gas they'd be $500 each.
PS: Both games will be on sale a few weeks later for the Steam Xmas sale.
Sorry? I'm confused...do you think this is new or something? If this offends you so much, then the easy answer is to vote with your wallet...

Why does America think the rest of the world is America? I know it's cliche to imply America is incredibly arrogant but when I see this constantly, it's hard not to think, America is incredibly arrogant.

It is new. So yes, you are confused.
oh man. Just when I decided to invest in PC gaming because all the hermits said it would be cheaper.
What a bunch of bull. I'm going to run amuck in system wars now >=[ Lol.
In all seriousness its a bit upsetting but I can take solace in the fact that I'm not planning to buy either one of them any time soon. I feel like I've played each series a thousand times over at this point.

Steam thankfully (for the moment) still has plenty of cheaper (and arguably better alternatives). Picked up "The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky" for £10. Supposedly a 50+ hour game. Without any of the DLC shit.

The hell is going on folks ? , i am utterly disgusted , not only that they will come out horribly optimised and need 3rd party DRM, now they are charging same price as the console version , but the PC version will yielded more profit because of no licencing fees.
Something has to be done because they are just being anti consumer and trying to rip people off in certain regions, blatantly too.
So what are the prices in other regions and how to progress ? personally just not going to buy it and wait for a sale or something because this is ridiculous .
Seriously
Another far cry....
Another assassins creed...
Who's buying that anyway
Who's buying anything from ubisoft anyway?
Why does anybody complain about game prices? If you don't like the price, don't pay it. You'll get a better game when the price is down to around 29.99, anyway, when the game has a few patches under its belt, broken quests are fixed, etc. Show a little self-control and vote with your wallet.
I bought the disc version of Far Cry 3 which used only the Uplay client (no Steam). I'll do the same for Far Cry 4. The new game is more expensive though. $60 compared to $50 for Far Cry 3 PC (disc version).
Seems like the British pound and Euro are stronger against the US dollar this year compared to the end of 2012. Wouldn't that have an effect considering Ubisoft is a European company?

Apparently most of the steam userbase currently buying these products.
Reminds me of that time PC gamers bitches about Modern Warfare 2 then proceeded to play it on mass. Completely full of shit.

Or, you can do both.
The cost of making a game has nothing to do with its worth. The game is worth what its purchaser is willing to pay. Don't like it, don't buy it. These games will be available at a much lower price if you are just willing to wait.

Regardless of us sitting on a forum ranting, we do kinda know, knob heads on mass will buy whatever shit they pull.

Yeah, that's exactly why they priced it the way they did. You can't blame them, really. Whenever I want to sell something, I set the price as high as I think I can convince somebody to pay.
They're $60 in the US, and I don't mind.
During the PS2 era I remember $50 PC games while the console games were all $50. Now they're $60 alongside $60 console games. I understand the ideas of digital vs. retail, licensing fees, and whatnot, but really you're just paying for the ability to play the game anyways whether it comes on a disk or through your router. Your money is paying for access to the code needed to run the game.
If you don't want to pay $60 then I'll tell you that history has repeatedly shown that games go on sale quite often on the PC. Wait for that to happen.
Though I can also tell you that history has repeatedly shown that Ubisoft is a terrible publisher on the PC. Not sure why people want to play their games on PC. They always ship broken, poorly optimized, and clearly have no effort put into them in making them play properly. The additional Uplay DRM is just lemon juice poured over the already-salted wound.

I'm not playing that ubi crap
Loved farcry 3 so ill pick this up as well..Ive got no issue with uplay..
While Uplay is a problem for people, along with a fully broken game like Watchdogs (because not being able to play games at all is bad) the problem is the price. It is like someone taking a hot iron, shoving it in your face, and then wanting money for the effort of shoving the iron in your face.
Apparently in the tags (which 4chan almost always manipulate) they have blocked out the word "uplay" and "overpriced".
Edit: Yea, wont allow these key words to be suggested. You have to use tags around it or misspell it.

I see why you are upset. Heck I would be it myself. Just saying that the 60$ (or 50$ for PC as I believe it is usually) is soon goon and replaced by 70$ and 60$.
Q. Can I tag a product with any word?
A. Yes, the system is intended to support a broad variety of concepts, genres, and attributes. The tag you apply may not appear to other users until enough other people have applied the same tag to that product.
They seem to have removed Assassins Creed Unity & Farcry 4 off Steam for UK residents, for what purpose ? probably to quell the complaints till release i imagine, this will only backfire big time, escpially when big youtubers get wind of this.
This is a good point. Which is why I stole it and posted it on the steam forums.
Most multiplats are now $60. Pretty sure Black Flag was $60 at launch too. Only Aliens and Shadow of Mordor are $50.
Not too big a deal since I have a huge backlog. GTA V may be the only game I buy at launch this year.
Why are you talking about Dollars? $50 is not £50.
I rarely buy brand new games anymore. Sounds like they're just asking for others to do the same with this BS.
I pre ordered AC unity from amazon boxed £38.99. This is still way too much but £40 for a pc game is the max I am ever going to pay.
Too much for either of them, I'll wait for a price drop even if it takes a year or more.
This kind of strategy will only hit Ubisoft in the pocket, they may think they'll get more money/profit and stop console gamers complaining about the price difference between PC and console. What it'll actually mean is less sales from the PC market during the release window (where the big publisher's share holders measure the success or failure of a game)
